Item can't be sent to address in Australia.

EDIT: —- my bad, this one actually can be sent to Oz, but other Dyson product I chose (DC34) cant. Not sure why.

  • dont really know why it doesn't work on your side. it works for me tho, dc44 and dc37 animal can be shipped to melbourne after adding to the cart.

  • Damn, just grabbed this model for $399. Can confirm it is indeed a great unit.

    • Is it worth the price? I'm thinking of getting one, but it costs about 5 times more than other brands.

      • It won't replace our Miele vacuum but it does a great job in between and for quick clean ups. We still use the main vacuum once a week (ok maybe once a fortnight now, but should be once a week).

I can get most of my house done with the DC44 in one charge, I tend to get a little over the 20minute battery guide. But when it stops it just stops without warning so you get full power until its dead.

Definitely makes things a lot easier around the house and for those 'oh crap the parents are visiting we've got 30 minutes to clean this place up' type panics :) picks up the cat hair out of the carpet really well too.

Just grab and go, I find getting the traditional vacuum out and plugged in etc is enough of a hassle for me to let things go, now we have this I will make the little effort to vacuum up the spilt coco pops on the kitchen rather than wait for the dog :)

    • @Japius

Damn, just grabbed this model for $399. Can confirm it is indeed a great unit.

But yours comes with a local 2-year warranty which is problaby worth the $60 extra.
$399 is a good price. Why did you get from? Is it a Mk2 version?

      • Yeah the warranty is good. I managed to get appliances online to match a price I had found online for a one day sale price of a Sydney retailer, which was great since they had it in their brisbane warehouse and delivered it the next day.

As for MK2….I have no idea, I just checked the unit and couldn't see an indication other than DC44. The box is LNG gone unfortunately.

The box is LNG gone unfortunately

Must be your dog's doing. I guess he hates the Dyson.

      • I thought the "mk2" refers to DC44 being "Digital Slim mk2", whereas "Digital Slim mk1" is DC35.

        • Yeah that's what I gather from a quick google, the DC44 Animal is the MK2. I believe it refers to being the better battery and the slightly higher suction than the DC35 (MK1).

    • dont feel bad, i just bought it for $466 and i thought that was a good price :(

      • Don't feel bad. Dyson is manufactured in Malaysia, and dc35 goes for USD 450 here. We don't even have dc44.

you would want to check the voltage on the charger for that…

and as for the their normal barrel vacs, they arent 240v

    • +1

for dc44 , it is global voltage which is 110-220v, just need a $2 adapter, for other dyson ball vacuums, they are most of 110v.

      • +1

        dyson ball vacuums

Wait! You mean to tell me that there's an apparatus out there that will combat sack-fuzz? Damn.. I need to get out more!

        • You only have fuzz on one side?

  • +1

Apparently according to one of the questions asked down the bottom, the unit is 110-240 so you should be fine.

But it doesn't hurt to ask.

  • I want a "Dyson DC39 Multi floor canister vacuum cleaner" - Amazon does not ship to OZ :(

    • Might want to check amazon.de, I got mine from them last year.
All you need is an adaptor.

  • Damn, very tempting… would be nice if there's was more confirmation about the 220v capability rather than just 3 forums posts.

  • So this is definitely 110-220V?

The only issue I guess is warranty, right?

  • Does this share the same battery as the dc35?

  • Thanks OP, got one of the DC44 Animal Slim MK2. Been meaning to get a Dyson for a while now. Added the home cleaning kit for U$50. All up a shade under U$390 (incl U$41 shipping).

  • Awesome prices. I already got DC37 Allergy though. I really want that stick but it's still a lot to pay when you already have another expensive Dyson.

  • What's the cheapest local price/seller?

I note someone said 399 above but I suspect this was another import price.

Have had my eye out for one of these recently

  • Grabbed one, thanks OP

  • Got one ! First dyson purchase, hope I don't regret it.

    • trust me you wont.

      i hated vacuuming.

      now i love it

      • I'll let you vacuum my house for free lol

  • Bugger it, just ordered one.

  • Just ordered, hopefully it good.

  • very keen on the dc39 (i dont think the 44 will cut it for a whole house with a lot of carpet), but it looks like they would prob be 110v :(

  • Have anyone check this out?
Any suggestion, I am thinking ti get this one, http://www.qvc.com/qvc.product.V31792.html?item=V31792&ref=A…

  • Just bought one. Has anyone emailed/called amazon or dyson to see if it is 110-220V?

  • +1

All of you are domesticated beyond belief. Why would the average family even need a vacuum cleaner? Have you guys not heard of using your fingers?

    • @Explosions_Hurt

Why? What would a feral guy do? Use their mouth and risk Explosions? Ouch, that would Hurt. ;)

  • I'm in, you've twisted my arm home hubbies!

  • ordered

  • Xmas present sorted. Thanks.

  • Can I use the turbo head from my Dyson barrel vacuum on these handhelds?

  • I bought it. I don't really need it.

  • Just rang Dyson Australia customer service and was told warranty won't cover items purchased out side Aus :( It's a trade-off, cheaper w/o warranty, or pay 200 more bucks for 2yr warranty.

  • Bugger, came here to look for Steam games and bought a Dyson!

The wife got hooked on one of these when seeing a demo in Westfield the other day, but they are too expensive locally. This makes it more affordable - thanks OP!

  • I have a brand new dc34 for sale (genuine Australian stock), $200 only + shipping. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/85659

  • Just grab one. Very nice deal!

  • Folks,

I was going to buy one of these a few months back - the rep at Good Guys explained to me that it is best for a small area - i.e. one room. This is more of a dust-buster than household vacuum cleaner. I believe the charge lasts about 15-20 minutes.

  • thanks for the heads up. I couldn't resist the major saving compared to local and got one. Never had an issue with my Dyson barrel vac so it doesn't bother too much if Dyson Australia don't honour the warranty - a**holes

  • Got one, thanks op. Already have a dc35, an extra batt and charger for extended run time but couldn't resist getting the latest and greatest.

  • Still at the sale price on 25/11/2012 for those interested in buying this Dyson.

  • Has anyones been posted yet? If so what shipping company did amazon use? Thanks

    • +1

Mine is in Australia already, shipped via UPS.

      • Awesome, thanks. Love UPS.

    • mine is i-parcel, just arrived in aus.

  • Why is this marked EXPIRED? Still working…

  • Tried to order but its says cant ship to this address? being AUS?

Which one did you guys pick? the Amazon one is out of stock?

    • cz now dc44 is offered by buy happier instead of amazon, and buy happier does not ship it overseas.

  • DC44 is still available (pre-order) so it buys me some more time if I think I really want it.

    • How does that work? What happens when it becomes available when you are away on holiday?
Do they notify you to seek confirmation before shipment or just inform you that the item is on its way?

  • I was hesitant to buy it at first but I just got the latest Betta Electrical catalogue in the mail and the Dyson dc35 is $469 so that made me feel better for getting the newer model for $330 ^_^

    http://catalogues.betta.com.au/catalogue/betta-home-living-c…

  • Mine arrived today, gotta love that UPS postage… 5 days including weekends to get from the US to Darwin.

    • Nice, mine is in Sydney atm so I should get it on monday.

Did you try it out yet? Did you just need a plug converter for it? Thanks

  • My 28 degrees was charged a total of AUD $316.65. Bloody bargain ! Mine hasn't arrived in Aus yet tho :\

  • Mine arrived today. Yes, it only requires a plug converter.

Which attachment are you supposed to use for upholstery? The instructions don't explain what any of the attachments are best used for!

  • Got mine yesterday and if you're good and patient with a pair of pliers you can bend the pins to fit. No ugly, sticking out plug adaptor. ;)
