I'd rather just buy it outright than sign up for a plan. Call credit and data included is incredibly small to be useful.

    • Cost difference: $240-$190=$50. You pay extra $50 to get $720 credit for phone calls and a bluetooth carkit. Plus, you pay the bill over 24 month.

      • That's why I didn't neg, but as I said in my previous comment $30 credit and 100MB/m is so little. I'd be worry about going over the limit after a few calls. Good if you barely use your phone at all(not much point getting a smartphone then). It's $190, not worth going on your credit file for a plan.

  • I thought Crazy John will be going to administration?

    • vodafone's turning it into the voda brand

    • No it isn't. Crazy John has been owned by Vodafone for some time now and they are simply absorbing it into the Vodafone brand. The individual Crazy John brand as such will be no more. They will close most of the Cj outlets as well. Cost cutting as usual.

  • Just keep in mind that in Feb 20th, most Crazy Johns store will become Voda stores, and all customer support will be handled by Vodafone.

  • I pretty much top up about $10 per month (or every other month) on a prepaid and an aging phone for my kid and this might be a better alternative for a semi decent handset.

Anyone knows how the data is charged ? Per MB, kb or otherwise ?

    • If you get a post paid handset for your kids with low included credits, they will blow up your bills to infinity. I think you'd better stick with prepaid and get one of the cheap outright phones recommended on this web site before.

      • That's their business model though - waiting for you to go over the included amount of calls/txt/data.

    • It's not very clear.

Prepaid Mobile Broadband: Recharge before credit expires and accumulate unused data, maximum NEW balance after recharge is 20GB. Usage is calculated in per MB increments.

      That's for prepaid.

But in this link for prepaid crazy cap, it says Sessions charged in 10KB increments at the bottom of the page.

Can't find anything on postpaid plans.

  • Nice phone for the money of 129 at kmart with free unlocking from telstra
Anyone interested there might be some stock at kmart.

    • Deal expired, but yea maybe worth to check if they have any left at that price.

  • Not bad. But I'd wait for a phone I can dip in water (Xperia Z)

  • seem good deal for me, but is it phone unlock with other network provider?
as I currently with vodafone and I've just lost my mobile, now want a cheap smart phone :)otherwise have to pay extra to unlock this Sony.
