Eveready Heavy Duty AA 50 Pack $5 at Super Cheap Auto

190

Was in SCA to get new globe. Saw 50 pack of Eveready heavy duty for $13 which I thought was a not bad price. So picked up a pack. After checking receipt saw it scanned at $5. Picked up 2 more packs on shelf.

Lady at counter said she was going To grab the last pack which was in a basket of product that needed to be put back on shelf.

Werribee plaza store

I have receipt but am on mobile and can't upload photo with file uploader

"heavy duty" = carbon-zinc. They should be banned.
    Small capacity and short shelf-life.

    • Should be fine for low-drain devices like clocks.
dunno what you'd do with 50 though!

      • Yuk, when C-Z cells leak they make a mess and damage your device. No thanks.

I remember reading some where that you could extend the shelf life by putting them in the freezer, then before usage defrost them to room temp….

  • Dan does super cheap auto do good car audio installations mate?

    • They dont do car audio installations at all, only some external and internal accessories, wiper blades and so on.

You need to see Autobahn or the likes for actual installs.

  • Well I got 150. So far used in Xbox wireless remote for about 2-3 hours. With xbox menu saying they still at 100%

well, if they contain infinite power, it looks like you bought 148 too many !!

Better donate them to United Nations or NASA or something !!

  • Meant to reply
To first post. That they seem not too bad so far and if they are that short lasting I have 150 to go through

  • everyready batteries are poor at best, spend abit more for quality batteries and protect your devices. i wouldnt touch these for $5,

but hey if you need em to run a torch because electricity prices are too high then i guess its a good buy. stock up

How are they compared to the rechargeable Eneloop ones? My camera flash ones are getting close to the end. I've been using Varta ones for years, but thinking about switching.

    • They probably would'nt be suitable for digital camera use. Unless you don't mind swapping batteries cosntantly

      • I don't think they would even work. If they did, it would take a looong time to recycle. They can't put out much current.

Eneloops are the way to go!
