  • Beware of Samsung QA when it comes to laptops! I bought one only to have the screen flicker like an analog television. Returned it as soon as I could.

  • Any chance this or similar will get back in stock? Thanks

    • Hi ppx, we'll definately have a similar deal in the near future. If you would like to send us an email inquiry we can contact you back when something comes up.

Not as good as this deal

    • +2

Find a better ULTRABOOK deal zhenwen… They're entirely different categories of laptops all together.

      • Current zenbook deal at msy looks to be better value
        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/91280
Hybrid drive instead of just an ssd, and has a discrete gpu, otherwise very similar specs for $300 less

        • Add to that an extra 300g. And did they fix the keyboard issues?

        • uh no its not
the ux32 is asus's ultrabook with dedicate gfx
this instantly means, bigger, thicker, heavier, and worse battery life.
also that particular model has a crap screen

          and ssd > hybrid drive

The samsung is full magnesium alloy. Go to a store and have a play with it yourself, it screams premium and poops all over apple

that being said, REP, are you able to stock tablets too like tf810c

  • What is the battery life on this. I notice it only has a 4 cell battery?

    • +2

Up to 8 hours - it is only a 4 cell battery but the CPU is an ultralow voltage CPU + the SSD uses minimal power also.

  • The Samsung is a very neat machine - great screen, decent keyboard.

But: not enough RAM and not upgradable. 4GB RAM is unacceptable - and (like Apple with their Macbook Air) Samsung soldered the RAM straight onto the board. :-(

So while I sometimes wish for a better screen and keyboard, I am very glad I got this one instead: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/80721

  • +1

i dont need one but i want one lol

    • Same, damn nice, not a Samsung fan but they are good at making slim sized electronics and great specs too

  • At this price, it is just pay for the brand..

    • Which other brand does better on price with the similar specs? Main spec to match: weight.

      • Hi team teri, check out our website! We have more ultrabooks online, here is one you might like with some free extras included too;

        http://www.visiontech.com.au/computers/laptops/ultrabooks/hp…

        • Ouch, what would the weight of that monster be?

My comments above implied that the Samsung is a very fine machine and the specs would make it worth the price you charge - for someone who can live with 4GB of RAM.

But the fact that you can't upgrade the RAM make it useless for anyone who wants to do more than web browsing (even intensive browsing with 40+ open tabs will make it run out of memory).

That is one big design flaw! Even Apple offers the Macbook Air with 8GB, Samsung does not. An otherwise neat piece of hardware rendered useless for many users…

        • Hi team teri,
          boxed weight = 2kg
          unit weight = 1.2kg

        • The Samsung, yes. But the HP you linked will be very close to 2kg.

        • HP is 1.45kg, still an ultrabook!

    • Suggest an alternative with similar specs.
Most 'Ultrabooks' are not true ultrabooks, they don't have an SSD drive.

These are thinner than a Macbook Air.

      • Ultrabook essentially is light weight laptop with extended battery life, typically caused by an ultra-low voltage CPU. SSD's are definately great to have in an ultrabook, but they don't draw the line from ultrabooks and true ultrabooks based off this fact.

It really depends on the manufacturers intended price point, if they want to make a cheap ultrabook they use HDD, if they want to make a premium ultrabook they use an SSD :)

  • I've got the Series 9 i7 15", very nice machine, responsive, best notebook i've ever owned (and i've churned though a few!). Found the 13" was short on ports, so make sure it has what you need.

  • Do you guys have the 15 inch version by any chance?

  • Is this 3rd generation chip?
