whats a "grey import"?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_import
Australia trade regulation allows the importing of particular items, but sellers are not authorised distributors by the manufacturer whom have sanctions on importing goods to other countries. I don't see a reason to worry unless the shop is just doge.
There is also the concern about ACMA compliance. Potential warranty issues are more than enough for me to choose only Australian stock which can be fully supported by local Nokia service centres. I don't think it is worth the risk buying a mobile from OS unless you treat it as throw away money.
No warranty information on site so it's probably grey import. It's not that much more expensive buying an Australian stock. Shipping cost is $20 which brings it up to $480 — again less competitive.
So, is it the best price/performance for this model?
Allphones did have it on special @ $499
mobileciti have some @ $495 and $538This guy seems to be Ozbazaar.com representative. All of his posts are for Ozbazaar.
Its a good price if you don't mind grey imports.
Taken from their FAQ:
"Where are your products shipped from?
Our products are shipped directly from our warehouse in Asia. We do not stock any products here in Australia to avoid doubling handling the items. This allows us to reduce costs which we then pass down to our customers."
