probably still makem profit at this price

    • +38

you want them… not to make a profit?

      • +28

i think the point is the margin at rrp is crazy.

      • -1

Very ironic that OzBargainers are still very much capital-pilled.
If capitalism is such a good system that benefits the world, why is the West-led global order TERRIFIED that communist countries are doing better and will eventually surpass them? Even after all the destabilisation, news spins, endorsement of wars and ethic cleansing projects, and the creation of global institutions meant to bind poor countries to the West as merely cheap suppliers, why are they STILL paranoid that one day, all the inheritance of the wealthy will be reduced to nothing when the people stand up against the rich?
Capitalism will eventually disappear and all that will be left is communism and fascism.

        • You think those communist countries are really communist countries? They are authoritarian capitalist countries hiding behind communist flags.

Can still get S25 12/512gb on pre order at JB or GG for around $600

    • -8

      Consider yourself lucky then !

      • +16

Why is he lucky? Anyone can… Why is he getting neg?

Preorder bonus is still up until tomorrow.

@captainmac: Are you not aware of Telstra process

              • @captainmac: And that is what everyone is doing!! Please read the other post to understand the process. Time is ticking

                • -1

@Angelscrap: So I understand that ozbargainers have found a loophole in the JB deal which has been around for a longtime. Maybe someday they may fix it. According to the fine print I'm technically correct that you would need to pay the pro-rated of the balance of minimum term of 24 months. So for those who get the deal that's great but for others there is a risk they will turn around forcing you to pay out the contract.

                  https://www.telstra.com.au/help/critical-information-summari…

What happens when I cancel my plan early?

You’ll need to repay Telstra for any vouchers you received when you purchased your plan. The Voucher Repayment Fee (if applicable) is pro-rated, equal to the total amount of the base voucher divided by 24 and multiplied by months (or part months) remaining in your plan term.

        • Ignorant peeps negging cos they don't know how to read comments on deals

      Got a link?

      • +5

He means signing up to the Telstra plan and then cancel right away

    • +8

      Got a link to the S25 $600 pre-order? I can only see it at $1387 here: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/collections/mobile-phones/samsung-…

    • +7

This should be top comment, s25 is going for cheaper than s24

      • S24 is far cheaper? S25 is on a plan?

    • How??

        • +3

Thanks, so it actually costs $1896 inc plan. So pardon my ignorance, but where does that equate to $600?

          • +15

@vinnycol: OzBargainers like to compare cancelling plan contracts to outright deal prices through a normal purchase.

The cost is the cancellation fee plus $79 first month of the plan. $606.

            • @shxhshzhz: Dang, makes me feel silly for paying $1000 via Samsung edu + trade-in bonus but for the S25 ultra so I guess it's an alright deal.

              • +5

@donman92: A little bit over $1000 is the total I paid for s25 ultra through jb/telstra hoops.
If you get the same price without any hoops, I would still consider that a win.

                • @OzBestDeal: I did have to trade in my s21 ultra tho :( but ye it's still a solid deal

          • -3

@vinnycol: If I'm reading it correctly he bought an ALDI sim then bought the port in plan with the phone then cancelled it paying $600 with him thinking they will still send him a phone. I don't think he is getting a phone.

            • +7

@captainmac: He is, the phone is supplied by JB and the contract is with Telstra. JB don't care what happens with the plan.

It's not a new thing and I did it with the S24fe last year.

            • @captainmac: He's getting the phone, like the rest of the us who were doing this. JB didn't even check if the service is still active. They just send the pick up notice to your email and ask for ID, that's it.

          • +9

            @vinnycol:

            • The total cost is $1896, including the plan.
            • If you cancel the plan, you only need to pay $526.93 left.
            • After canceling, you can get a $79 refund.
            • Additionally, if you have or can get a preorder code (sometimes available through live chat), you might also receive a $200 gift card from the store.
          • +4

@vinnycol: There's literally thousands of comments on the S25 thread and S25 Ultra thread on how. But I guess you can't be bothered reading

            • -8

@mandelbrot: Correct, I cant be bothered. I'm surprised a loophole such as this remains in place after the first few. Rather odd…

    • Thought id just add some info for anyone considering an upgrade from s24. Mobile Guru is buying 'good' working condition base s24 256gb for $620.

  • +11

Wow really puts into perspective how good the preorders are. You could have easily picked up the s25+ and free buds 3 pro for this price.

Might as well wait till next year for s26.

    • +4

This was honestly the best year in the last 5 years or so. I made a profit trading up. In other years id pay $200 to upgrade.

      • How? How did you stack the deals?

        • +2

The standard +400 +200 +100 from the othwr thread. Cancelled accessories and sold phone privately. Including the $30 no trade in, its a $80 profit

          • @OZcheepsk8: Yeah even the base S25 had a $300 loyalty code (vs S25U $400), incredible year

            • @Fobsessive: Not to mention the S8E SoC on all models. Set a high bar for pre orders going forward

          • @OZcheepsk8: Nice! What phone did you sell and for how much and what site is best to do that?

            • @MagicTsukai: Sold my s24U 256gb. Im in Melbourne so i sold to mobile monster price beating mobile guru

    • yeah on s24u now waiting for s26u, there's literally no upgrade this yr except the processor, can't be bothered with the hassle of changing phones again haha

    • I don't see any deals on the S25+ though, can shed the light?

      • +2

Just checked its currently $953 + 30 no trade in admin for the 256gb from gov/edu/epp with GALAXY2025 and the trade in voucher. Includes $100 in galaxy accessories

    • +1

It shows how good ozbargain community finding a good deal. I'm sure without ozbargain sharing stacking those deals 99% wouldnt know how to get S25 for less than $500

  • +6

This.. seems like a bad price considering the recent s25 and s25+ for (much?) cheaper during preorders which is still AVAILABLE now.

See all the prices people got here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/890072/comments

    Definitely easier though

  • +1

Ultra should be at this price.

  • +1

Amazon have the 256Gb for only a few dollars more, but also have the 512Gb at $964.
    www.amazon.com.au/Samsung-Galaxy-Smartphone-256GB-Black/dp/B…

  • The s24 photos are actually better than the s25. This is worth it!!

    • ?????

      • +2

At least write a sentence before the question marks. If you’re confused YouTube some test videos!! Lots of reviews pointing to s25 having a crap camera processing.

        • Typical Samsung behaviour. Give it a while for them to fix the software

        • I read somewhere on reddit that Samsung is preparing to release a 3gb update lol. So that should fix most of the issues.

        • Camera processing is software. S24 will get the same software soon enough lol

  • +5

I just tested buying S25 base 256gb with $100 of free accessories from gov/epp. $714 + 30 non trade in fee including $100 of accessories. Only using the $400 trade in code and galaxy2025. All up being approx $80 cheaper than this deal

See the ither thread with 500 likes on how to do this. $400 trade in codes still available in giveaway thread.

The $600 jb deal in comments above much better though

    • How does the $30 non trade in work? You just dont send in the device?

      • Yup. Or just send in any old phone you have and you wont get charged the admin fee.

        • I just tried this! I think its $400 discount for the ultra but only $300 for base model. And with galaxy2025 its saying $200 minimun spend?

          • +1

@iLLUME: Yes the price above is $300 (called it the $400 code). Im getting $100 from galaxy2025 base model in Gov. May differ in edu or epp.

          • @iLLUME: What does the total of the ultra come down to with the spplied discounts?

  • Looks great

  • +10

    S24 Exynos 2400
    S25 Snapdragon 8 Elite

    No Exynos forever, thx.

    • +2

100% the most important difference between this and last gen. Pity the fool that gets the s24 over s25 base. For those wondering the Snapdragon 8 elite is about 50% more powerful than the exynos. It's also more power efficient

      • Care to share your source for the 50% more powerful statement?

        • Snapdragon marketing claims a 40-45% improvement over the 2024 gen

      • I'm typing on an S24 Exynos while my S25 is here and sealed. Expecting stronger modem connectivity at the least

    • Is it though? Just got my s25 and it runs as hot as my s21 Exynos. Was surprised given the hype behind the more efficient snapdragon.

      • I upgraded from S24 to S25 and noticed a significant improvement in performance and battery. Was surprised by both, given the "meh" reviews on youtube.

        • I did the same, performance is better but not sold on battery. My S24 used to last for 2 days easy new.

          • +1

@Relapse: Ah right, I was comparing the S24 battery after 1 year to the S25 new. So that might be why. I'm even only charging the S25 to 85% max now, hopefully that will make it last longer (health-wise).

  • +6

Exynos 2400 🤢 Snapdragon or bust the Exynos is only appropriate on their FE, A series lines.

  • Anyone having Officeoworks or Jbhifi 10% GC for above deal ?

  • I'm still rocking with the Samsung s21 ultra 😅

    • +6

      Great information

    • +1

Rocking the s10. No lag no trouble.

      • Same, only has your camera gone funny too? Like all my phones have a dusty filter and I have to edit the contrast after.

  • How does this compare to iPhone SE 2022?

    • +5

      This is much better

  • -6

Imagine this is considered a deal when you actually buy s25 plus for $450. Ozbargain is weird sometimes.

    • -1

      How???

    • +1

And get downvoted for stating the truth. Ozbargain is weird.

  • Tempted as I want to go back to Samsung after using Pixel for a few years..

  • Got S25 base for 674 pre-order samsung EPP and using a code from the code thread and trade-in S8 ($10) using a disposable wise card. I have the s8, may be I will send it anyway not sure.

    • You should have gone with this deal instead. Could have got it for $527.08 (plus $79 if you had no luck getting Telstra to refund the up-front payment).

      • +1

Nah, no doing that. Its just a phone.

  • S24 ultra also price drop. Officeworks have not price matched yet

  • +1

The GG have for $749 and it has the pop up for price beat of $727….also Samsung store has it for $749 as well, so you can price beat at Officeworks against those prices?

    • Why not

    • +1

Thanks for this. Just price matched at officeworks against the $727 price, bringing it down to $690.65! Thank you!
