      • Hi, I'm at the shop now and they said no. But potentially willing to, so im on hold to HQ. Could you share which location you went to? Thanks,

        • This was first thing this morning when Officeworks had a higher price online. Not possible anymore I don't think.

        • The Twilight zone.

    • How'd you get the pop up?

      • usually if you try to copy the item info as if you are going to check the price it should pop up….make sure you haven't blocked pop ups
they have now reduced it online to $737, so might be why that pop up isn't showing now

Thanks, I used incognitio, we're all good. Pop up is still there (desktop) just linger. Couldn't get it on the phone, so lools like the laptop is coming on the trip to OW.

@anastasiastarz: Update - OW said no. They called HQ who also said no. Bought anyway cause I've invested too much in this task already.

  • Upvoted. Great deal for mum inlaw. We wont want to go through the s25 buy, return hurdles

    • +1

      what return hurdles?

      I got a S25 base+case+buds3 for $625

      sold my S24 512GB for $650

My understanding is theres a plan sign up then cancellation involved. Possibly accessory returns?
Sounds complicated so i dont want to coach my 70ish year old in laws through that process.
Im all ears if easy as though?

        • +3

no I did a preorder direct with Samsung, no need for any plan or cancellation

@bohn: Wow, is that still available? Do you have the deal link please (i tried to look myself but couldnt find anything like that)

      • How did you get it that cheap? Traded in something? Bought a pre-order voucher $20 for $200?

        • Your $100 Galaxy eVoucher+ has been applied! (this was the pay $20 get $100 credit)
Voucher applied! $200 eVoucher discount. (free - this paid for the accessories , case and buds)
Voucher applied! $300 Trade-In bonus applied. (free - this was for having a trade-in which I am not sending, an old Pixel 4a phone)
          $100 Trade-In bonus applied. (bonus)

ordered through the Westpac Samsung portal (free) for an extra 20% off

          = $625 all up

          • @bohn: How about the non-return fee of the traded-in phone?

            • @beesider: Won't get charged. It's not in the terms and conditions this year. Plus, I removed the authorisation in PayPal.

There is no such thing as a non-return fee in July 2024 terms and conditions

  • I checked with JB support for $200 gift card but they said I should have registered for that. Can anyone provide me with the process I can get it today as I need to pre order.

The Exynos is underrated imo. Coming from a Snapdragon S23 and previous Pixels to S24 had me worried but S24 is the best phone I've owned. Performance is great and battery is very good.

    • How's your modem strength for data connectivity? Mine drops out frequently

    • +1

I've just upgraded from an S21 Exynos to S25 Qualcomm. I'm getting noticeably better reception in trains. Where the S21 would just stop downloading anything, S25 slowly but surely continues receiving data. S21 would also heat up during low signal whereas S25 stays cool. Very happy with the upgrade and now understand why Exynos has been bashed so much.

  • I have a Pixel 7A which is fine for my daily use though interested in getting a newer S24 given the price and handing down the 7A. I'm assuming that it will be a step up from the Pixel 7A, in terms of the Exynos chip I'm assuming that I won't be any issue at all for me given the 7A works well for me ?

    • Exynos is fine but people are obsessed with calling it bad.

  • Is the Vodafone deal on the official website for the pre-order of the s25 (vodafone offer) function similarly to the JB Hi-Fi one, or doesn't work when you cancel the sim plan?

    • +1

No, it's not the same. If you order through Vodafone, it's very likely that your device will be locked to the Vodafone network.

  • I paid $792 for S25/512GB after trade-in on pre-order. This doesnt look like a good deal?

    • Surprised me how much this deal was upvoted

  • any estimated deadline?
