  • Do you know How long do you have to activate it ?

    • I'm wondering the same thing…

      • +2

Offer ends 03/03/25. Activate by 31/03/25 for bonus data.

    • 1 year to active.
      Active by 31/03/25 for bonus 100GB + 150GB
      Active after 31/03/25 for 150GB

  • +2

Better than the one i posted!

  • I can't seem to choose eSIM for prepaid at checkout, do Voda not do eSIM for prepaid?

    • +4

I guess buy physical for now activate and then convert to eSIM using app, happy to be corrected

      • +1

Thanks, yeah, I did that. Just looking at the eSIM section of the site and it said to choose it at check out. Physical SIM, eSIM, I don't really care, just easier with eSIM, especially since my Boost SIM card expires tomorrow.

        • hey i just bought this but I only got an order number? how did you actibate it when you cant even log on the app?

      • That is correct.

      • if you buy physical do I have to wait for the sim card to arrive before I can activate it? all i have is an order number

        • if you wanted that early, you could get a $2 SIM and ask them to activate the service on this local number for a quick turn around time

    • +3

Definitely supports eSIM. I second the @spirrowhack comment. Will be able to convert to eSim via their app post activation. Worst case just need to visit a store.

      • Does this support Apple Watch? Like I put the physical sim in iPhone 11 and eSim in Apple Watch?

        • +1

Unfortunately, Apple Watch requires postpaid plans. Galaxy Watches, on the other hand, support a separate eSIM, although this may involve a workaround. The workaround for using a separate eSIM with Apple Watch is not ideal, as it is configured as a child’s watch, which restricts certain features.

      • How do you activate when there is no sim card and only just an order number?

  • Starter pack expires 365 days after purchase if not activated (according to the packaging). But bonus data only will be rewarded if activated before 31/03/2025.

This is only available via physical sim card shipped express for free. You can convert it later on to esim.

  • I've got family members id like to jump onto this deal including myself, all numbers are managed under my name as account owner.

Will I still be able to activate these under my name and receive the bonus data for each number?

Can I also buy this today and activate in 30 days from now as billing for this first month on our current provider has been paid.

  • Can i use with 5G modem?

    • no not according to the Critical Info Summary:

      Tethering
Tethering permitted to personal devices only but must not be used in a modem or as a substitute for a home internet service. For more information, check out our speed guide.

  • all of our Prepaid Plans are 5G ready. With a 5G approved device you could access our 5G network if you are in a 5G coverage area. Our 5G network is rolling out in selected areas of major Australian cities. Check your coverage.

    Nice.

Also Critical Information Summary here for anyone interested.

SIMs must be activated within 30 days of purchase and must remain active for at least 90 days after activation to be eligible for cashback.

  • +1

Six months to go until my Boost yearly plan ends, still a little hesitant about switching to Vodafone at this stage. Might sit on the fence a bit longer and see if the MOCN agreement with Optus significantly boosts coverage.

    • +5

Yeah same here planning to jump ship since Boosts insane 365 plan changes.

    • +1

I am doing the same. My boost expires in March and I am thinking of taking a risk and switch to Vodafone. I have had issues with boost internet not work at the train station in the Melbourne city and I was hoping that Vodafone will be better with regards to that.

  • +1

Moving out from boost, coverage is bad around my area didn't know until I got it 8 months ago but already committed to 1 year plan. This is amazing deal thanks!

  • From the website:
"Get 320GB total data (220GB + 100GB Bonus Data) on your first 3 recharges made before 31/03/27 (activation counts as first recharge). Offer ends 31/03/25. T&C apply."

Can someone explain it to me, do we get straight away 320GB or we need to recharge 3 times to get the 320GB?
If we dont do recharge, then we only get 220GB?

    • The ad says 320GB Data on Activation

  • +1

Noob questions. What’s TCB? How do I stack it?

    • Top cash back. You need to create an account with them and then follow the link to the deal through their site so it records. You'll get the cashback (if it tracks) in a few months

    • topcashback click on button "cashback" underneath go to deal

    • Thanks Guys. I use cashrewards normally and never used topcashback. Just done it though. Thanks.

  • How is Vodafone around melbourne East south east.
Optus is bad in some places had voda a couple years ago bad at some places.
Have boost now 365day ending in a few months getting too expensive for a light user.

  • if on vodafone sim only can move to prepaid by just buying this?

    • T's & C's say for new customers only so I'd imagine you would need to port out and port back in.

      • Newbie here! Pardon my ignorance, but can I port out and port back in with just a $2 starter SIM or I'd need a prepaid plan to activate the new SIM? And then port again on Vodafone.

    • Port out with a telstra $2 sim pretty much available everywhere.

  • +1

Thanks. Purchased it after tangerine postpaid was giving very bad drops and missing calls.

  • +2

Got excited especially as there is also 25% TopCashback however:

“SIMs must be activated within 30 days of purchase and must remain active for at least 90 days after activation to be eligible for cashback”

I wanted to buy and save two sims but without the cashback not as good :(

Also op be careful as cashback exclude gat so sim will cost $139.5 after cashback.

  • I'd recommend buying their $10 SIM first to test it out in your area before committing to this. I'm getting 30/10Mbps with Optus, and like 3/0.4Mbps on the Vodafone SIM. Neither are consistent, but the Optus is obvious lya lot better for me.

    • @johnytran what area

    • Good advice and ALWAYS worth doing. As an industry insider i've been churning / porting sims forever. They all have shit areas whether its tower locations or simply localized congestion, all that matters is what works where you live and where you venture to. Im keen to see the improvement in Vodafone coverage outside of cities now they have massively widespread shared regional network coverage with Optus that just went live. Gonna put it to the test with a few weekends away next month and see how the buggers measure up.

    • Yeah Vodafone is pretty bad (had the same low data speeds) in central Sydney. I actually got better speeds by disabling 5G, but still not great. They allow everyone on 5G so it's congested. iphone 15 Pro Max

      • I'm always disabling 5G purely to conserve battery and I don't need the speed.

Is it fine to browse the internet and listen so music in Sydney CBD?

  • Just a reminder that the Vodafone 30 day network satisfaction guarantee is NOT available to fall back on when you commit to a prepaid service.

    • Sorry, am I missing something here, @ninohax? It's 6000 mins and 1200 mins. Not 100 and 20. Or did you mean to say 100 hours and 20 hours?

      • my bad I should have been epicly brain drunk when I made this botch up

  • Offer ends 03/02/25. Activate by 31/03/25 for bonus data.

    What is TCB?

  • Great deal. Anyone know how easy is to top-up/add international roaming to this? (Like Amaysim just add $20 and you have a basic 1 year roam facility)

  • Only available at Vodafone Retail Stores (excluding Airport Stores) & Online.

How to use TCB when buying from stores?

    • You can’t. Only online for TCB.

  • Looks like TCB cashback might only be realised after 3 months -
SIMs must be activated within 30 days of purchase and must remain active for at least 90 days after activation to be eligible for cashback.

How else would they know if your Sim have remain active for at least 90 days after activation to be eligible for cashback.this is in additional to the within 30 days of purchase making your cashback a 4 month wait - most people would have forgotten Moses parted the red sea

    • Cashback payable in 21 weeks

      • Cashback did not track for some reason, waited 7 days after purchase also. Do I need to activate sim before it tracks into TCB ?

        • Could you please provide an update in a few days.

          • @kunfushun: I just raised a missing cashback claim, waiting for their response apparently can take up to 3 months …

  • I wonder if this deal will expire as I need to get out of BOOST but my current plan expires on 31 Mar and 4 Apr, if I buy it via TCB now I need to activate it by 1 Mar to get cashback.
Or I buy it on 1 Mar via TCB and then port out by 31 MAR? Will this plan still exist for sale on 1 MAR? Any past experience?

How does TCB know if you activate it or now?

  • Been using Vodafone service in Adelaide for almost a year. Lots of call drops and so many times people try to call me and goes straight to voice message. I personally wouldn’t recommend Vodafone.

    • If it helps same location.
Was with Optus. After 12 months of free complimentary service (due to tower congestion), they actually told me to go to Telstra.
Now after 12 months of complimentary service with Telstra (due to Telstra tower congestion), and it's still a reported issue, I'm thinking of trying Vodafone.
Post 3G shutdown, I don't think any work 24/7 anymore.

  • +1

Probably a dumb question but I've never changed phone providers before. If I currently have boost but buy this deal can I keep my same phone number?

    • +1

There's always a "bring your own number" option.

  • Somehow I cannot put the item in cart now!

  • Thanks OP. Just signed up with TCB and processed this.
Will use it to port it one of the family members who is on Boost now but currently expired.

  • Looking at previous posts on Ozb (~8mo’s ago) Voda has been dragged through the mud by most for their poor coverage and speeds.

Has this improved since? What’e everyone’s experience like?

  • +2

Good deal! Sadly jumping from Boost after 5+ years because they no longer offer any good plans.

  • Will I get 3x cashback from TCB for my 3 numbers ill port in?

Will I be eligible for this promo if I had 1 of the of numbers with Vodafone less than 30 days ago (posted out last week to superloop).

And lastly, will I be eligible for this promo if I port in all 3 numbers under my name?

Is Vodafone reception (4G as I disable 5G) decent at Sydney CBD, Western and South West Sydney?

  • I'm looking for alternatives to Boost too but I like having WiFi calling overseas. But Vodafone says, "No, Wi-Fi Calling is not available while roaming internationally."

Does that mean it will work on hotel WiFi? Or via local data from a second SIM?

  • anyone got this msg on the order tracking page?
We have a problem with your order
Please call customer care on 1300 650 410.
Also, have people received Tracking confo from TCB?

    • +1

Yes, I did almost half an hour ago. I managed to speak with them after being on hold for 20 mins. They said that they have a technical glitch at their end and that’s why they are not able to update the tracking info. They confirmed that there is no issue with the order and the tracking number should be updated in the next 24 hours. Fingers crossed now!

Edit: Yes, I got the TCB cashback tracked at $45.

  • I’m only seeing 15% cashback on TCB for prepaid now :(

  • Received today

  • Is this applicable if i am already with vodafone prepaid plan ?

    • No, new customers only, but if you ask nicely (and mention the customer retention team) then chat support will give you the $180 for 320GB deal as a 1-off recharge offer.

Worse deal than buying the starter pack with TCB 15% cashback for $25 savings ($27 - $2 SIM to port into), but far less hassle and no risk of your transfer being held-up on either end.

  • Just ported over from Telstra to Vodafone. Happened within 5 minutes. Checked the data in the app which only showed 220GB. Support mentions that the bonus data of 100GB will take upto 72 hours to be added on. Hopefully there are no issues!

    • Already amended. 320GB on my app now

      • hey i just ordered this and I have got an order number only? did you have to wait for the sim card??? to port over?

  • +1

If you're also staring down the expiry from one of those $120 deals from last year (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/828722), then chat support can give you the $180 for 320GB deal as a 1-off recharge offer if you ask them nicely (and threaten to leave - cost of living crisis etc).

Miss out on the 15% cashback ($27 saving minus $2 SIM), but far less hassle than sim-hopping and no risk of downtime.

Surprisingly Vodaphone is more consistent in my area than Telstra, despite being able to see their tower from my house.

    • Thanks for the tip! I just tried this and they gave me $160 of 'myCredits' to apply against my next recharge

      • Oh nice, I had to pay for $180 of credits and the support guy did it all manually, which sounded like a pain as it took about 15 minutes. Sounds like they've found a better way to do it

  • I'm currently on Lebara prepaid - does anyone know if it's necessary to port out to Telstra/Optus first?

  • when TCB is back at 25%? I am waiting as need to activate within 30 days of purchase, current plan expires 24th March

    • I think we missed out :(

      • would it get worse? less than 15%

    • vodafone says porting of existing number is not allowed
      — need to be new sim or switching

  • Hello. I was wondering how can I recharge 3 times before Feb 2028?

    The website says:

Get 320GB total data (220GB + 100GB Bonus Data) on your first 3 recharges made before 31/03/27 (activation counts as first recharge). Offer ends 31/03/25. T&C apply.

    • +1

One in 2025 (activation counts as first), once in 2026, and again in 2027.

  • +2

    Buyer beware!
No tracking from TCB. Purchase made in TCB app on 1st Feb.
Missing CB for another (non Vodafone) purchase. Purchase made in TCB app.

    • +1

Mine tracked straight away, no issues.

  • Is this offer online only or do they also offer it in store?

  • When it says new customer only, do we always have to get a new number? I used their prepaid plan 2 years ago before porting in to optus, do they allow me to port back to Vodafone and still get the deal? Any good solutions I can do?

    • As long as you're not currently with them, you should be considered a new customer. People often just port out to a cheap sim, then port back in to be eligible for it.

  • +1

Somehow after activating this, my plan shows as 420GB instead of 320GB. Maybe because I activated auto-recharge during activation? Not complaining either way 🙂

    • Can also confirm that conversion to eSim is only possible upon receiving the physical sim and activating it. (This was quite annoying as I'd ordered on a thursday and had to wait until monday for them to deliver my sim). You can convert in the MyVodafone app.
