  • if its outdoor items why does the link take me to the general au direct link? shouldnt it be linked only to the au direct outdoor section?

You can buy everything off DX cheaper on eBay.

DX has been a big disappointing lately. The time to post items is a disaster, the waiting time is worst. To return the item is costly and a nightmare. Customer service cannot understand anything but simple English. PayPal disputes are long, they do not repond than you have to wait for PayPal to make a decision which can take up to 30 days.

This is why I am giving a negative.

    • Actually, the time to post with this AU Direct is pretty damn good. It took a day for my order to be shipped and a week for the postage to arrive, far better than any HK/CN based ebay seller. But keep in mind it's not actually shipped from within australia, my order was simply shipped from their shenzhen warehouse via toll express. Sure you can find cheaper, but for some of the items it's a nice middle ground between price and time to delivery. I have to reiterate, I only mean some of the items are good value. Some of them are really truly overpriced for what they are.

      • Wait - AU Direct isn't shipped from AU?

        • Nope. I thought it was too, still relatively fast though.

i agree, i used to buy from dx in the past, but now ebay sellers are cheaper and faster.

too many slow shipments from dx, not worth using them

So what's the deal here, appears to the promise of timely delivery rather than waiting months and months, what a bargain! You haven't linked to any outdoor gear or anything specific at all, just the dx frontpage.

So far this DX rep has just been a hit and run spammer.

AU Direct 5-7 Working Days Delivery Exclusive From Deal Extreme 30% Off

    Is what the title states.

Then the description modifies that to:-

Up to 30% off on outdoor items

There are 336 item in the outdoor category.

    http://dx.com/c/us-eu-au-direct-100099/au-direct-stocking-10…

In fact, only four of these items are 30% off.

    • Five are 20% off.
    • One is 18% off.
    • Two are 15% off.
    • One is 14% off.
    • Twenty four are 10% off.
    • One is 7% off.
    • Two are 6% off.
    • One is 3% off.

So, a total of 41 items with any discount at all.

Leaving 295 items with no discount.

      As A3Australia said

Also not linking to the "deal" is lazy and shonky.

    • This is the link to the items on sale, it is a sale on clearance items in the AU direct store only. There are not many things for sale, but this is the list.

      http://dx.com/l/au-direct/2012-10/-au-direct-clearance.aspx

There are giant banners all over the place for the sale, surely it wasn't that difficult to find.

Simply go here (as provided by the rep)
      http://dx.com/direct/au

The first banner says "AU Direct 5-7 Working Days Delivery" as indicated by the OZB deal heading
the second banner advertises upto 30% off in an outdoor clearance sale. Also in the deal heading, with elaboration in the description.

This is usual spam, OP never posts any specific links, nor anything posted beats eBay prices.

I'm still wiring for my hdd bracket which was ordered in Nov last year.

@Alex from DX — this is an example of good deal from DealExtreme. Yours is not. Please learn from the community.

Checked out some of their AU Direct stuff the other day. A lot of the things I saw, I've seen on ebay or aliexpress for roughly half the price or thereabouts.

No deals to be had here folks.

  • Hi guys,

Sorry for my shoddy posting! In the future I will post deals on specific items that are hopefully fair deals and will take heed of the communities feedback on this and other postings from now on. DX is looking to make a good impression in Australia and deliver within 5-7 working days to most AU states, excluding Western Australia and the Northern territories at the moment. I do not intend to spam this site and if anyone wants any info, or help on dealing with DX, then just ask. Thanks :)

    • it would be nice if u explained how this au direst works. how the warehouse is actualy not in AU.

    • hi Alex, is there any reason when i switch from normal to AU Direct shipping the price of the product is increasing(it is not with conversion, i checked both in the same currency).

      ex: http://dx.com/p/heat-absorbing-laptop-cooling-ice-pad-non-po…
showing as $20.60 normally, but when i select AU it is changed to $23.28… is it some kind of hidden charge?

      • you pay more cuz it gets to u quicker. thats the deal.

        • i understand the concept about faster will cost, but the below link says "5-7 Day TOLL Express delivery & Free Shipping!"

          http://e.dx.com/albums/201210/shipping_destinations/index.ht…

        • come on mate. you and I both know that the shipping is built into the price of the item. DX is obviously paying more to ship using Toll and that gets added into the price. Free shipping just means u dont pay any more for shipping. If you dont want to pay the little extra, just go with the regular shipping option. The extra you pay isnt even 10%

        • dy4me i don't have any issue with the shipping cost(it is still very low) as it reduces the delivery time a lot(from more than a month to 10 days for $2)…

there is a good possibility that if i(or any one) don't know about the extra cost i might end up use the AU direct shipping all the time even if the item is not required immediately, but if they put it up as shipping in the normal mode, depending on my requirement i can switch…

any way i will use it as required since i know now. Just wanted to share…

        • Good job sharing. but I was assumin most people check this stuff. after all we are on ozbargain and we hate paying more money. :D

  • Hi dy4me,

Actually we do currently have a warehouse in Sydney but it is in the process of being closed. We have now partnered with TOLL express delivery service in Australia and if you order from dx.com/direct/au which is our new AU Direct policy, then you will receive your delivery within 5-7 working days, as long as you live in either; NSW, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia or Tasmania.

    Thanks
