AU$ based on current Mastercard rate and GST inclusive.

For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard(mastercard.us) or VISA(visa.com.au) exchange rate depending on the card.

  • Damn I just bought one yesterday after looking at the zsus

  • Thanks!

The price seemed to bump to $US69.84 if I tried to access via TopCashback - is this expected behaviour? Is there any way to actually stack these deals with cashback?

    • I clicked through and still got US$57.45 though I think think I've seen it happen before. After purchasing listing now shows US$62.18 when logged in, cashback clickthrough or not.

Tracked at $14.97 on $78.81 (the actual ex GST amount, not the amount AE charged me GST on thanks to their tax fu(dg/ck)ery. Where they even got the figure from I don't know)

  • Any good to pair with raspberry pi or something for a home assistant wall tablet?

    • For 90 dollar bucks, I've bought one and will give it a bash for exactly that purpose!

      • What can you do with this compared to say a google home mini or something? Like what are the use cases?

    • Thinking of doing exactly that…

  • is the touch capacitive on these?

    • Yes

    Any cheap case recommendations?

    • +1

I bought something similar a little while ago and it came with a little slip case. Not sure if this is the same or not.

  • Thanks clear for finding a good touchscreen option 😁 I ended up getting one of the xiaoxin pad pros after asking for a touchscreen monitor for ages haha (the pen functionality is great on those!) but appreciate the effort.

    • can it work as an external monitor?
      Thanks

      • +1

Theoretically yes I think, but I haven't figured out how to. When I plug it in to my laptop I don't get an option for "monitor" or anything.

EDIT: apparently you do it with the "smart connect" desktop app and pair it. I haven't tried, but I do have "smart connect" as a pairing option on the tablet.

        • There are multiple USB-C cables that comes with this. One of them (longest black one) plugs straight into Mac or Windows computer and displays as second monitor. No need for additional software, nor power supply.

          • @GaelicAU: I was talking about my Lenovo tablet, are you taking about the portable monitor?

            • @Alzori: I was replying to this.

    Nice one Clear!
I've purchased. Now to figure out what I'm gonna use it for 😅

  • Kick stand hinge is quite bad based on the Ali comments. Looks pretty good still

    • No problems with mine so far. Although I've only used it around the house and haven't knocked it around by travelling with it.

  • Also bought the ZSUS one yesterday but wanted touch haha.
Plenty of feedback on the ZSUS and quality sounds good especially given the price.

What are these like? Might buy a second one…

  • Bought on a whim. Will probably be handy when diagnosing my NAS when it drops off the network. Worked out at AUD$92 when paying through PayPal.

  • Last few times (this time included) I've clicked an Ali express link from here, it's been sending me to the Dutch version of Ali? What am I noobing up here..?

Hmm seems to be something to do with using Brave .

    • AliExpress remembers regional sites so you need to go change your region. Brave on the other hand is known to have issues with the website overall.

      • Noted. Thanks mate.

  • Could you plug one of these into a phone and treat it like a big tablet?

  • My last order is still with the flight/ship. Somehow these orders - even via AusPost are surprisingly slow.

  • Are these crap or good?

  • Sounds like a good deal. My order for the Firebat from here (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/889870) placed on 22 January 2025 still hasn't left the Origin country. That's almost 2 months.

    • Pretty sure you can request a refund if not received within 30 days. I'd be doing that and re-ordering

      • I did that. AliExpress have frozen everything.

  • It worked out 87.21 AUD as I chose to pay in USD - about 5 bucks better than paypal

  • Is there a smaller monitor with inbuilt kickstand?

    • There's this 10.5" monitor but no kickstand. Besides 10.5" there's the possibility of getting 13.3" models.

  • am i doing it wrong? it comes up with EU plug (not sure what this even is) and I cannot change it to Australian plug. pls help

    • +2

It's just a USB charger. The port on your computer or any old phone charger is sufficient.

  • Arrived today, not too bad considering last mile was with Aramex :P (luckily landed in WA and didn't have to wait for Aramex to slow freight it over from the east, though they still missed their own ETA of delivery yesterday.)

  • Arrived today. Cheap case and didn’t come with a travel wallet, but runs on Mac and Win through USB-C so pretty good from that perspective. Now need to find how I can mount above my laptop screen. Don’t like off to the side.

  • Off topic on the price, but is there a way to force the correct aspect ratio on this (i.e. black bars for 1080p)? The monitor stretches Switch or other consoles at 1080p to full screen making everything look weird.

    Nothing in the menus…
