I don't believe this offer is valid without the hosting, in other words they can restrict access to the Domain management option anytime you stop hosting.
Nothing guarantees the domain will be active for 2 years, this seems to be more of a 1 month hosting trial, the domain will stick with the hosting deal as long as you host with them…
Many firms do this, revoking the domain once you cancel.
