    Leaper-I ITX aluminium case

Can I put an extra 3.5" HDD in this? Can't find any specs for it.

    • +2

      Wise move ?

Can case & motherboard handle '3.5" HDD' ?

      Maxsun H610 ITX motherboard

      Maybe https://www.maxsun.com/products/challenger-h610m-itx-2lan

    • +2

Also looking for something for extra 3.5" HDD

    • I have old leaper case from deal bought in 2018 with a320 m/b and yes I am using with extra HDD. Its tight space at the back panel but there is a slot.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/426134

    • +1

Don't forget there's no performance penalty from USB 3 - you can just run your 3.5" drive externally. With a longer cable, you don't even need to locate it physically close to the PC.

    • +3

No, it's ultra small form factor designed for m.2 only.

      • +1

        i5-12400F 4060 system

Maybe Techfast should consider publishing componentS temp. when pushing these systems close to the limit?

        Maybe room temp. @ 21°C…& 30°C ?

Techfast will take leadership in transparency & others sellers will follow.

I bought a PC from you with 4 case fans: i5-11500 & 3060Ti. Will be interest to see the results when the system is being push with the above spec.

    • you could buy a cheap ($50) mAtx case and do a swap?

  • Intel Core i5-12400F | RTX 4060 ITX Gaming PC

No fans for good airflows ?

    • +1

The whole system only pulls ~300w. Shouldn't need a great deal of cooling.

        • +2

          Huh?

          • @TheMidnightChef: When room temp. reaches 30°C, what are the CPU & components temp. when you are pushing these system with high CPU & GPU games ?

Prove it to yourself, say HWiNFO64 software ?

If your component(s) don't have a temp. sensor, try a infrared thermometers: typo on previous comments, but neggers are free to share your experience?

            • @ab c: I'm sure within spec. Techfast have sold a tonne of these without any reported issues.
Someone on ocau has done a decent write up you can look at.

Can someone recommend me a build for my daughter I want to spend $1500 max it’s a Fortnite build

    • +6

If it’s for purely playing Fortnite and nothing else, I would just recommend you to buy a Xbox Series S and plug a mouse and keyboard in if your daughter would rather that than playing with a controller.

      • +4

I tried mate after she played my pc apparently Xbox does not have enough “fps”

        • +1

But it will do the job for $350ish

        • +1

My son plays Fortnite just fine on our series s and he would need a hell of lot more justification for me to run out and drop another $1500 just for a few more frames!

        • I wouldn’t believe that as it has enough to run Fortnite smoothly. For those few frames more, that’s a lot of money for just Fortnite.

        • I have a 4070 with a 5700x cpu and Fortnite is around 110-130fps at 1440p with DLSS performance mode on and most of the settings on max.

I used to run DLSS quality mode but as time went on and the graphics improved i switched to performance for more stable frames.

If you're running 1080p you can probably get away with a 4060ti, depending on the fps you're chasing.

    • Wait to see what nebula pc put out today (assuming)

      7500f/4070ti might be obtainable?

    • +6

Any of these can play fortnite

      • +2

I can confirm even a GTX 960 can play fortnite at 1440P.

    • With or without monitor?
      What size monitor?

      • Without monitor I’ll be buying a seperate uw monitor 32-34 inch 1440p resolution

        • @1440p the 4060 will give you 60fps. The 4070 will give you 100fps

I would be going with at least the 4070 if you are going UW. And be aware that there will be a performance cost going UW.

Also not a great time to buy, as new graphics cards being released in January

          https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

          • @kogi: Swee thanks I’ll wait to see if nebula post any deals today before biting bullet

    • anything with a 4060ti 16gb ram and 5800x3d or i5/i7 12xxx cpu shud do it at 1080p

    • +3

People who want small cases are placing priority on size over cooling: no case fans other than CPU fans.

Lots of upvote & selling fast: buyers must be right? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/872785

Intel Core i5-12400F | RTX 4060 ITX Gaming PC

    Out of stock?

  • +1

Is there a similar deal as 12400F-4060ITX-BD but non-ITX? I'm looking to fit in a 3.5" hdd for storage.

  • Luke/TF team, the 4080 description has 1TB, not 2TB per title.

    • Thank you, typo and fixed.

  • Is it worth opting for 32 gb of ram for the Intel Core i5-12400F | RTX 4060 ITX for an extra $89? Or should I just go with base 16gb and wait for a cheap RAM deal on ozbargain to install?

    • +2

Not worth 32gb in a system like that

      • As always, that depends on what you use it for. I found 16Gb was struggling with the volume of tabs & programs I tend to keep open, so all my systems have 32Gb where possible.

        • -1

If you need mass programs or tabs you wouldn’t buy an i5-12400f

          • +1

@TheFreaK: Why not? My i5-8600 with a 6Gb 1060 still does nearly everything I need it to do, albeit at a reduced frame rate from the more powerful offerings.

The 1060 really only starts to chug when trying to run some games on the 32" WQHD monitor with the settings up too high.
That said, most of my PC gaming has been transferred to either the Legion Go natively or streamed from a G7 laptop with a 2070.

    • +3

Buy 32GB Corsair Vengence on Amazon for $82. Cheaper (and better) RAM than in this system. Will also give you a spare 16GB if you need it.

      • Damn. Memory got cheap again & I don't need any rn ;'(

      • Thanks, I'm in no hurry atm as I've just ordered the PC and I've been told that techfast can be quite slow when delivering the product. Do you think I should grab this deal pre-emptively or wait for a better deal to come by? I saw that there was a 3600MHz version of the ram that was posted just last month.

  • +3

Already sold out for the itx? unable to add to cart.

  • +2

    We're back bois! 😲

  • Is it possible to bring i7 14700F 4070/4080 BF deal back? @luketechfast

  • is it worth it to buy the itx for parts - currently rocking a 12100F and Rx 6600

    • +1

Better to just buy the part you want?

  • Any I7 deals?

  • LOVE YOU!!! absolutely needed this, let's hope my order goes smoothly

  • -6

Personally wouldn't recommend going with techfast my system's been really slow has had constant problems and you can tell that they really cheaped out on parts that aren't the CPU or GPU everything else is the cheapest they could get

    • +2

the Maxsun, is actually quite a nice cheap board… I've reviewed it extensively..

Most of techfast stuff is built to a price.. however ITX system, in its current configuration is surprising good..

the Gigabyte B650M Gaming Plus WiFi motherboard in the other systems.. are pretty much the bottom dwelling AM5 stuff…

However, once you tweak it all correctly… everything should be up to par…!!

There's some picturesof an info and pictures of the 12100F itx system… which was extremely similar..
      https://forums.overclockers.com.au/threads/techfast-itx-gami…

    • +5

$688 you can't compaint too much, systems are pretty clear on price you choose what you get

    • +1

parts that aren't the CPU or GPU everything else is the cheapest they could get

At these prices, what did you expect ?

If you want high quality parts all around, then clearly you need to pay more money - these systems are amongst the very cheapest around.
They're great value for the money.

    • +5

Personally I WOULD recommend techfast, my system is as base as it gets model bought 6+ years ago and still going strong no issues. For the price and service, techfast is really good and well worth the money for those who just wants cheap built system.

    • +5

Longevity: buyers must make sure system is spec. to run cool & not push it to its limit for long-period with high room temp, say 30°C.

All gaming-PC sellers cut corners with deals: buyers must do YOUR-homework & wait. Knowledgeable buyers are waiting also & good systems sell fast. Less brand-preference give you more choices.

ALL the systems in the sub $2K bracket are mostly LOW tier parts. But compare them to Brand, eg Alienware & you'll be horrified 😱

  • +2

Looks like the ITX build is out of stock..
    No surprise..
    buying new at retail..
    CPU - 12400F and HSF - $150
Motherboard (ITX) - $150 - actually quite a reasonable board
    Ram - $40
    Zotac itx video card 4060 - $449
    SSD 500gb NVME - $30
= $819 without the case.. if you tried to get the components yourself..

Case and Power supply - easilly $100, more like $200 for this quality of case..

    being ultra conservative with price

    CPU - 12400F and HSF - $150
Motherboard (ITX) - $100 - actually quite a reasonable board
    Ram - $30
    Zotac itx video card 4060 - $400
    SSD 500gb NVME - $25
= $705 with the case and powersupply..

Easy buy for anyone. actually needing a system.. especially given it is prebuilt..

NB. you will need to install your own M2 wifi card… (whole unit, needs to be dismantled)
the system comes with the bracke tand antennaes' at least mine did!!!… I bought a intel ax200/ax210 , if I remember the Intel ax201/ax211 may work. (however this is at your own risk).

    • +1

Fairly new to the PC world (Have always just used MacBooks), how does wifi work with PCs? Can you not connect to your wifi with the ITX build?

      • +1

The ITX build doesn't include WiFi - you can connect a USB WiFi adaptor for $20.

It is possible to add a WiFi card directly to the Motherboard, but it's quite an involved process.

        • Ah ok, with the USB Wifi adaptor is it able to get good wifi speeds like 50mb per second? How does it compare to adding a wifi card directly to the motherboard (Is it that much worse?)

Oh, also is ethernet an option as well?

          • -1

@Bonemusher: Comes with a 2.5gig realtek and 1gig intel ethernet.. if you end up with the maxsun motherboard..

But you are too late already…

Sold out in under an hour…

So if you haven't ordered already.. its a case of … snooze and you lose..

        • agreed, you have to take the motherboard.. out of the case to do so
For anyone used to building computers it can be done.. for those who have never done so.. its prorably worth avoiding..
The itx build is a very very tight fit… getting things in a out..

          • @Kelvin: If it's a tight fit to get the wifi card in, would you also have the same problem when trying to increase RAM/storage as well? I opted for 16 gb ram and 1tb storage in the hopes that someday there'd be a good deal on a RAM/storage card and I'd install that myself.

            • +1

@Bonemusher: You can absolutely upgrade both - it's just fiddly and small inside, which is to be expected with an ITX case 👌

            • +1

@Bonemusher: the SSD and RAM, can be upgraded without removing the motherboard from the case…

The wifi card requires the installation of one or two screws on the backside of the motherboard..

              • @Kelvin: Sorry for all the questions, but with the SSD and RAM if I choose to upgrade them are there free slots available on this build to install or will I have to remove the existing 16gb ram/1tb SSD in order to replace with increased capacity?

                • @Bonemusher: only two slots ofr the ram , like all it motherboards.. you will need to remove and replace the existing ram to upgrade.

There may be a rear M2 / NVME slot (half speed x2 lanes only),
If it is avaialbe, there whole motherboards will need to be removed to install..

There is no airflow or room for a SSD HSF… so probably NOT recommended to use, even if its there / present..

I would suggest removing the existing SSD and repalcing it instead…

                • @Bonemusher: For the ram you need to replace the existing two 8gb sticks as there is only two ram slots. For the storage you should be able to add a sata ssd with no issues somewhere in the case. If you want a larger nvme instead, you would have to replace the one your system came with.

    • Zotac itx video card 4060

      Where was this?

  • +1

    Too many variables on hardware.

  • Hi Techfast,

Antec CX500M Tempered Glass ARGB M-ATX Case. Can this case be ordered in white?

    Thanks!

    • Following, also would like a white

    • +2

It is available from our disty - I will add it in

      • Hi Luke, would you be able to add this option to the 4080 listing too please? Thanks!

      • What about the 4080?

  • 4080 system says 2Tb on the title but on the description and site is 1Tb

  • +1

Whats the build time ? Im still waiting 7 working days later for a shipment notification ~ cries inside

  • Intel Core i5-12400F | RTX 4060 ITX Gaming PC OSS

  • +1

Be great if the low quantity 12400f deal that was sold out in minutes was removed from this post Appears to be a lot of people wasting time trying to buy.

No issues with TechFast but seems like this deal was clickbait.

    • -1

Should have been in low quantity deals thread

      • There was no restriction on quantity…
Someone could have easily bought 10 or 20 systems for reselling . dismantling or company use..
I jumped in the minute I saw the deal… having missed out on the last ITX offering.. which didn't last 6 hours..
I presume there was enough other ozbarginers to do likewise..

For every person that posts, theres probably 10 lurkers… around..

I do agree it shoud be marked as sold out now though.!!!

        • If that were the case, that is why popular sale items from retailers often have a limit one per customer on them. This not only enables the supplier to run the advertising campaign longer and build their brand with consumers but also ensures customers an equitable chance to purchase.

          • @buffalo bill: I don't think techfast needs to improve their brand rep..
If they wanted to.. they would simply. try to ship their machines on time…
They need volumes / to guarantee pricing..
Buying techfast, is pretty much buying a preorder…
Not all stock is on hand is my understanding.. hence they are at the mercy of the distributors.

Techfast is NOT the classical retail model..!

    • +1

There were plenty, they always just sell out instantly. As mentioned it's just down to the number of available boards. Will see if we can get more and reactivate if doable.

      • I'm keen if you re-activate. Came to the party too late this morning. Thanks

      • Also keen if more become available!

Missed the last time too and am in Perth, so didn't even have the alarm go off before they were gone
