MINISFORUM has some deals and this one stood out; it is a barebones PC without RAM, SSD, or operating system, but comes with the following:

  • Intel Core i5-12600H CPU
  • vPro Enterprise Support
  • 2x10Gbps SFP+LAN
  • 2x2.5G RJ45/
  • 2xUSB4
  • HDMI
  • 16xPCIe 4.0
  • M.2 NVMe SSD
  • U.2 NVMe SSD

Currently it is selling for $669.99 which I believe is a reduction on the original price - but there is also a $70 coupon on Amazon that takes the price to $599.99 including delivery. There is no coupon code - you need to be sure to tick the box on the Amazon store page to apply the coupon.

NOTE this Mini PC comes in other options besides barebones. For an extra $200 ($799.99) you can get 32GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB SSD, and Windows. You can find that one here: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0DQ71V29S

What is the most reliable mini PC brand on the market?

    • +4

Lots. I am using: Gmktec, Beelink and Minisforum. All solid.

    • dell, hp, msi, from an australian store with australian warranty.

      for example
      perfect internet/office box

add $20 for a cheap windows key or even better, a linux

    • +1

I’m happy with my Trigkey. It appears to be a rebadged Beelink.

  • great price / performance / size.

I'm impressed with Minisforums stuff so far, my BD795 is chugging along nicely,

I would get this instead (but wait for a special):

    • Or this one at $459 (with coupon) is also pretty good.

      https://www.amazon.com.au/GMKtec-4-5GHz-Gaming-Desktop-Compu…

      • Quick Question what would i use to power it as the $799 it does say no power plug

        • Sorry which one comes with no power plug. All of the ones I have mentioned come with AUS power or are powered via USB C.

            • @M911: Included:

1x HDMI Cable, 1x DC Power Plug, 1x GMKtec Nucbox K8 Plus, 1 x VESA Mount with Screws, 1x User Manual

              • @boxall: i did not see that bit, i was looking at

                Additional details

                Power Plug No Plug

whereas the one you posted with the coupon

Power Plug Type I - 3 pin (Australian & Chinese)

    • I think most people looking at this deal are probably looking to set up a home server, in that case, isn't the intel option better for software suport?

      • For me it is a home theatre PC and Retro Gaming console.

  • Beelink SER8 I've posted previously is $846 right now
Close enough specs to the $799 one in this deal but with better CPU/iGPU

  • If you don't want barebones the MINISFORUM UM870 is $100 cheaper than this with a better CPU:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/MINISFORUM-UM760-Slim-Processor-Co…

  • There are of course lots of other systems that can give you more compute for the money. GMK has the 8250u based mini pcs that you can get barebone for like $300 on aliexpress. The real boon for these Minisforum MS-01's is that they have much better connectivity with 2xSFP+ and 2x2.5gbpe. As far as I know nothing else is giving you that.
