I believe it is an atl based off the recent post of this monitor: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/879085.

It’s a refurb that comes with a 3 year warranty and seems like a pretty good price for a 4K OLED 32” monitor.

This is my first post so apologies if it’s shit.

It’s been that price for 2 weeks, but yes still a good deal.

A new one has “advanced exchange” warranty including burn-in coverage, not sure if that’s worth $180ish more?

  • +3

    If only it was flat

    • +1

Yeah I wanted a flat as well but the curve didn’t look too full on so I gave in

      • +3

I’ve got it and I personally love the slight curve

        • +1

I've got the same model and continually forget its curved.

  • +12

If you want to spend $1100 on refurbished one might as well spend $12** for new one

    • Yeah but Alienware

    • +5

Where can I get it for $12 cheaper?

    • +2

I've read from other Ozbargain comments that refurbs are almost the same as new (if not genuinely new but returned stock).

It's one of the many Ozbargain secret tricks to discover on the Dell standard and outlet websites. There's other tricks including signing up with an account to get some vouchers, etc. but I'll leave that for sceptics like you to discover on your own (if you even care)…

      • Normally returned with new panels

    • +1

Is there a deal/code to get the new one down from $1,519.10?

    • Oh I thought new would be way more. At that price it’s a no brainer.

  • +2

Good price, but its not clear to me if the 3 year warranty covers burn in which would be my main concern..

    • +5

      It covers burn in.

  • Does anyone have any hands on experience with these refurbs? Do they come with some minor defect like scratches or dents? Or are they essentially in tip top condition?

    • +6

I had this exact monitor arrive two days ago as a refurb. It's in tip top shape, it's honestly brand new not a mark on it.

      • Fantastic. It's on my to buy list in the new year when the new 5000 series comes out. However long that will take lol

I purchased an AW2725DF earlier this year, everything was fine except for a small plastic chunk missing from the side corner. I can't see it while using it, s I don't care. No scratches on the screen, but it did have residue from the protective film which wiped off easily. So far so good, I would happily purchase a refurb from Dell again given my experience.

  • Probably a dumb question but will this be too much of a downsize coming from a 38" screen?

    • I did to this, from the Dell 38 to this model. Obviously presonal preference, the drop in size was a bit of a shock intially, but these days I don't really miss the 38 too - so got used to it. My general usage, is working from home, software dev, gaming, youtube.

I reckon you adapt to whatever monitor you have. If we all went back to 24" we wouldn't know any different after a few months.

      • Were you using the AW3821DW ultrawide? Im about to take the plunge using this model - hoping the 4k res, 240hz and oled will be enough to justify the smaller screen size with the exact same use cases as yourself.

Does cashback work for this? It is Dell outlet but exclusions include monitors from as Alienware. But do they mean the product or buying a Alienware monitor from the Alienware website?

  • +3

Loving my $520 Dell G3223Q, slight input lag at 60fps but for the price it’s good 90% productivity 10% gaming monitor

I got this on a deal about 4~6 weeks ago.
It's an amazing monitor. I'd rate it 8.5/10.

The only "annoyances" I've come across:

You really need to take some time to dial in the right brightness/contrast settings to your preference, like, 3x longer than I've had to with any other monitor. OLED dim's down when the screen is bright, and there's various settings you can play with to minimize that effect - so be ready to spend a good few hours reading different forums and trying different settings to see what you like. Then do it all over again for HDR mode.

I get an annoying black screen when loading or alt-tabbing between certain windows or games for 1~3 seconds. Not a big deal at all, but it does makes alt-tabbing feel incredibly slow.

I get really strong red/pink glow on my face from the monitor, which is only really visible when on video calls.
I don't notice it at all in real life, but it looks like my (white) skin is bright pink through my Logitech 4K Brio.

Other than that, for my particular setup, the control-nipple being underneath in the middle is a bit annoying, as I have to move my 2nd monitor out of the way if I need access (I preferred Asus style putting it at the back on the right hand side).

All that said, the picture quality is second to none. 240hz looks amazing (coming from 144hz). Text looks great (no fringing issues to speak of, running at 125% scaling), and I'm extremely happy!

Does the curve bother you at all?

      • +1

The curve is so subtle it feels like using a flat monitor to be honest.

      • Not at all, though I'm coming from a 34" ultra-wide QHD, which had an even more aggressive curve.

    • The black screen from Alt tabbing is from DSC - inherent to the monitor

      • Even when using "console mode" (a setting in the monitors OSD) which theoretically prevents DSC, it still occurs.
I've also manually set the resolution to 4k 60hz (no HDR) and still get it, so not sure what it is.

  • Would really like glossy … Is this glossy?

Does this OLED have that bright pop like Samsung flagship phones and tablets?

For office use, will I notice much difference to my G3223QE?

  • Just purchased one 27/12.
Thanks for tagging as back in stock.
