This is an excellent monitor, works well with Mac mini M4 at 240 Hz

    • +1

Yeah kicking myself I didn't jump earlier when it was at ATL, it's been a long wait.

      Keen as!

    • How do you like it as a Mac monitor? Can it run at scaled 6K resolution (3008X1692)? Does text look good?

Debating changing from two basic 27” 4K dells to one of these. Needs to do triple duty - productivity on Windows and macOS and gaming/tv.

      • +2

Yes, it runs on 3008x1692 (just checked it and liked it), however I'm used to running it at 3840x2160 and text looks ok to me at this resolution too. Wouldn't change it to any other monitor and I had had few top range alienware monitors as well as Studio Display in the past.

        • +1

How have you connected it to your mac? from what port to port? and what kind of cable?

          • @nav71: HDMI cable. Can't remember where I bought that HDMI cable from. I had it on my mac mini M2. HDMI to HDMI

            • @Justuser: And you can get 240Hz? i thought it was a DP connection that allows higher end connections?

              • +1

@nav71: Connected via HDMI and refresh rate shows 240Hz in display settings. Whether is actually 240Hz or not I can't tell you as I have no idea how to check it. Scrolling is smooth. I don't play games

              • @nav71: Should be able to get it with right HDMI cable

Google HDMI 2.1 spec and check which one this monitor supports

    • its a shame it cant run 2 on 240hz

    • +2

      Care to elaborate?

      • +26

        He won’t.

        It’s not.

      • +6

I am generally anti curve, and the slight curve on this badboi doesn't bother me in the slightest. Dont let it hold you up!

      • +6

The problem is you can't go back to flat screen

    • +8

its a very slight curve, it's actually great. Source i have one from the slightly better deal.

      • Ditto.
What monitor settings did you go with?

        • +1

I just used the Windows HDR Calibration tool to get it to the settings that looked best for me at the time. Can't say what they were exactly off the top of my head cause I'm at work now and monitor is at home.

    • +1

The curve is not noticeable when using the monitor. But when it's standing there on a blank screen it does make the monitor appear smaller.

    • No more binocular pls.

    • +1

Did you mean: The curve is problematic to those to don't like / can't use curved monitors?

      • +1

I think he means 16:9 monitors don't need a curve. Given 99% of 16:9 monitors are flat, it's not unreasonable to group the 1% with curves into the "problem basket"!

  • +1

How do I find the best settings for this monitor on windows 11?

  • +3

I was very skeptical of curved monitors, bought this screen and it's a total non-issue at this low curvature.

    • +1

I feel you, I would even say that a slight curve is welcomed sight on a monitor at or above 32".

      • +1

yep, i'm amazed how this curved screen is more comfortable for long reading VS a flat 32".
There was a deal for an MSI 32" flat OLED and I didn't pull the trigger, waiting for a deal on another curved screen lol

  • +4

Hope they announce new monitors at ces in jan

  • So tempting, I’m holding out for one of the flat panels to come down to around this price

  • 34' model comes down to $1,132.55 with code

    • +8

You probably already know this but for the others: the 34" model is 1440p not 4K like the 32" model.

  • I just got a AW3423DWF and am thinking if this is better for productivity ? Any help would be appreciated!!

    • +1

unless you are using it for gaming / ps5 you can get by with the AW3423DWF. Check out the reviews on rtings.com, very similar but the QF is better rated overall.

      • Does the 2” honestly make a massive difference? I am a first time monitor buyer

        • +1

not size, mostly the extra resolution. aw3423dw is 1440p, this is 2160p.

    • +1

      went from AW3423DWF to this

      • much more screen real estate (3840x2160 vs. 3440x1440), can comfortably fit 4 programs in a 2x2 grid, whereas aw34 could only do 2 side by side due to minimum window widths.

      • sharper text, text fringing is no longer noticeable and clarity is on par with 4K IPS.

main issue with this panel is DSC at 240hz, which has a short black screen when alt tabbing from full screen games, which isn't relevant for productivity.

No issue if you use 120hz mode (Hdmi 2.1 offers "console mode" with no DSC.)

      • Depends what you're using it for. I don't notice text fringing on the AW3423DWF, even when coding, designing, reading & writing. Maybe you sit closer, or perhaps you prefer a bright monitor. I have brightness low and maybe that reduces fringing. I also have a browser plugin that turns headache-inducing black on white text into readable contrast inspired by e-ink displays. For example, your post looks like this on my monitor: https://imgur.com/uhQ9yYR

In the end, it's about 21:9 vs 16:9. I will never go back to 16:9 for my main screen. For gaming, ultrawide destroys 16:9 for visibility, FOV, immersion and fun.

        • I actually went from aw3423dwf to 27gr95qe before this, because I felt like the 165hz refresh rate was a bit choppy for pure gaming, so there's that (top500 in val/cs, noticeable diff).

The 21:9 to 16:9 immersion hit was a bit brutal though, agreed.

I found the aw3423dwf to be a bit less sharp than 1440P IPS, no such issue on the 4k panel, but I also have the monitor ~60-70cm away, so it's somewhat close, yes.

I think the new 39" ultrawide 4K OLEDs (5120x2160) will interest both of us a lot, you get 4k 240hz without sacrificing 21:9.

LG Roadmap for Q4 2025 release.

          (45" 4K 21:9 launches in Q1 2025, but that's a bit too large for me.)

  • +3

Just a reminder that this doesn't have Alt mode DP. Kinda wild for a $1000+ monitor not to have it.

  • +1

    Picked one up, thanks!

  • Im running the Dell alienware 38inch ultrawide…. So tempting haha. But im in love with the form factor on my 38 UW!

  • +1

This has Pixel Shift with no setting right?
Can anyone say how noticeable it is?

  • +2

These are still $1219 on the Dell Refurb website. Same 3 Year Basic Advanced Exchange Warranty.

    HERE

    • +1

Got one of these two months ago and I've been enjoying it immensely. Would recommend.

      • How's the quality of the refurb? Any noticeable defects?

  • any cashback

New Mac Mini owners, 4K monitors will not work well natively. I mean it will work but compromised. Apple OS works at 1080P, 1440P, 5K, 6K natively. Any other resolution, you are sapping some horsepower from the CPU and GPU to render at a scaled down resolution not natively supported by Apple a mentioned above. You need to pay Apple tax to go 5K and 6K for true 1:1 scaling. Why don't Apple support industry standards like proper support for 4K monitors? Well then how will they sell you $3000 - $5000 Apple Studio Displays. Eg. Apple Storage. Storage is cheap and they can put 2TB on base iPhones but they won't because then no one will sign up to their monthly iCloud storage service.

    • New Mac Mini owners, 4K monitors will not work well natively. I mean it will work but compromised.
Non-integer scaling is really not as big of an issue as people say. I say this as someone who uses a true 5K monitor (Apple Studio Display) at work and one at home (Dell UP2715K 27" 5120x2880), with both of them next to a 4K monitor (27" 3840x2160) at 150% scaling.

The performance deficit was definitely noticeable about 8–10 years ago on some systems that were using Intel's integrated graphics and on some systems with a weak dGPU, but I haven't seen any noticeable performance impact at rendering 5K on desktop for years, and none since Apple Silicon.

Why don't Apple support industry standards like proper support for 4K monitors?
MacOS doesn't support system-wide interface and font scaling, so Apple chose to go down the easier path of rendering the interface at higher res and then downscaling to meet the monitor resolution. The popular GNOME desktop environment on Linux uses this method as well, although not sure how KDE does it.

Since Windows already had system-wide interface scaling, Microsoft decided to use that as the means to implement scaling, but for years Windows was plagued with complaints about bad scaling because developers weren't designing applications with this in mind. Although it's not perfect now, it's in a much better state than it was before.

      • -1

It's worse on Apple, for true pixel scale a 4K monitor will only have the display size of a 1080P monitor with hi DPI, it will look super sharp and amazing but very little screen realestate. To get equal scaling to have 1440P size screen realestate, you will need a 5K monitor (very expensive). Or you can run 1440P monitor at native res or a 1080P monitor at native res. Or run a 4K monitor at native res and have to squint as everything will be tiny. Yes even at 32", all the menu's will be tiny an unreadable at native res. It's the Apple way, pay for their studio display or stay with a compromised solution. I am just shocked that 3'rd party manufacturers have not released more affordable 5K monitors in the last 10 years to compete with Apple Studio Displays, it's not like it's a special technology, it's been around for over a decade.

Don’t forget 3x dell rewards at the moment!

    • +1

      Got $108 in points

      • +1

Do they only apply/show up once the product ships?

        • +2

Dell says the credit will appear in ur account within 30 days of shipment. From my experience, it normally shows up within one week.

        • +2

Yesss facts !! Also you have to have a $50 spend for you to be able to use the Dell rewards $$.

For example, I have $97 Dell rewards cash. I’ll have to spend at least $147 to be able to use the rewards $$.

It’s really stupid because the products in there are quite mid.

  • This or the new 27inch 360hz QDOled?

    • console or rig and what screen resolution are you running at 2k (27") or 4k (32")?

    • much sharper image on this and better image, but harder to run. would not to for 27in 360hz qdoled, already last gen and behind a bit in perf.

for compFPS etc pg27aqdp, 27inch 480hz OLED is already out.

else lg32gs95ue is a decent compromise, dual mode 4k240/1080p480 but matte coating and more expensive than this.

  • +3

Anyone using this for Productivity and Work only?

    • +3

I’ve ordered one for designing interfaces and work in general. Mate you have one life so go live it. I thought about burn in and all this stuff but I pulled the trigger. I don’t think I’ll be disappointed- people have compared it to Apple monitors etc so I’m kinda excited.

Btw I just returned the AW3423DWF that I got yesterday for this one - really a $100 difference for a gen 3 monitor. Hopefully it has better tech built in to handle burn in and performance etc.

      • ^ this guy, YOLO as moi. ^_^

  • Thanks OP, been waiting for sub $1,300. Used your link.

  • +1

Thanks OP, just ordered one. Not the ATL price but close enough to it. Cheers.

  • Is this the one with the new tech?

  • I had an Aorus F048U which is a 48inch OLED 120hz, is it worth getting this one?

  • +2

Mine just came. Super fast 1 day shipping. I'm impressed!

  • Looks like this code works on the AW2725QF too. $699 down to $628.

Been looking at that because it's higher PPI, IPS so won't suffer from burn-in, and still supports 180Hz at 4K.

  • +4

I'm going over the reviews for this and the Samsung G80SD atm. Interested in owners of this monitors view on the curve as it appears to be more subtle than most on the market. I'll be using it predominantly for gaming. Yes there is the matte v gloss equation as well which I'm taking into consideration as apparently the colors "pop" more without the matte and are "Fire". My kids helped me translate the last part.

    • +1

Yeah the curve is pretty subtle. I've never used a curved screen before so I was pretty keen to see how it'd fare.

It is noticeable, but not so much that it throws me off, I've played thousands of hours of CS on a pretty average 24' VA monitor, and was able to jump straight back in without any issues adjusting.

I've only had the monitor for a night, and I can't really add anything that a review probably hasn't covered, but I'm pretty damn happy with it

  • +3

    Thanks OP!

What a fortunate time for my old monitor to stop working

  • how do you turn down the brightness?

  • +2

    HODL sub $1200

    • +1

      Holding!

      Come on Muzeeb!

  • Anyone pairing another monitor with this? Any issues?

  • Monitor arrived… it's great… but hate the curve… thank goodness its milder than some monitors.

  • Tempting. Think I'll be going the Philips Evnia 49M2C8900 49", though. Just need the kvm/productivity benefits. If this was bigger, I'd be all in.

  • +1

Just moved from 9 years on a Acer X34 UW 3440x1440p to a 32 4K Dell G3223Q, the extra vertical space and sharper text is nice but I'm finding my eyes are straining a lot and my workflow has changed. Before I could just throw windows all over my desktop, now I feel like I'm boxed into a big TV. It's taking a bit of getting used too but I do miss my UW as nice as 4K is

    • To make 32 4K work I feel like 150% scaling which makes the monitor essentially 1440p but sharper is the ideal productivity workspace. Then you need to set up virtual desktops to keep yourself in "Focus" mode and not get distracted.

125% is also possible but your brain will become overwhelmed by how much real estate you have and can lead to eye strain and headaches. Video Editing in 125% is perfect. Writing notes and surfing the web is good at 150%

Still trying to work out what's best for the work day

  • +1

Used the coupon price last night on JBHIFI and The Good Guys and both agreed to match price with the Dell coupon price. Picked up one today from JB as they had the stock where I wanted :)

    • +2

Nice work! I'd be tempted to do that if I had a bunch of JB vouchers I could use :)

  • Really keen on this, however, anyone has experience with burn-in with this monitor using it for work apps (words, excel, etc)?
