Youtube reviewers say it's pretty much an end game monitor for 99% of the people. 1 lad on Youtube left his monitor on and his PC for some reason didn't go into sleep mode at max HDR 1000 brightness mode for 24hrs and still no burn in so that bodes well for the built in burn in suppression tech.

Please note, you need to be rich or have rich parents to game in 4K at 240 frames / sec.

I thought gaming monitors are meant to wide 🤔

    • +1

Almost all monitors have been wide for the last 20 years. This is wide also.

      • I meant ultra wide, like 34"

Edit : I'm no gamer, just curious

        • Extra 2in wider, its worth it, she said.

        • No, that's just what some people like for productivity, and TV panel makers love because they can salvage more of a dud panel or process.

        • Have a look into screen ratios.
34" does make it "Ultra Wide"

    • Not many gamers actually have Ultra wide, it's got a very low market percent. Hardly any games support it, you end up having to need mods to get rid of the black bars on the side. So not sure what made you say that

Nothing wrong with getting a refurb from Dell but their refurb of this model has been available for months and has always been this price. I'd be inclined to wait for a decrease if you're not in a rush.

i have 34 1440p UW and this is the upgrade I want but dont need.
once you start going to 4k, the $$ spend to get the frames is just not worth it

    but i cant resist!!!
can we stop posting these deals, thx

With ya. Keep telling myself better to spend the coin on a 50 series card to drive it first (and enjoy better frames on my 34 UW)….

      • +1

i got a 4070TI and there is no game it cant be crushed on 34 UW….now going to 4k 240 - just silly!!!!!

        but so tempting

        • Similar boat. I have a 3080 and it can struggle with high eye candy games on my 1440p X34P monitor. I want to upgrade to a 4k oled but I would have to upgrade my gpu to make it worthwhile which I dont want to do. Since I usually make my gpu upgrade decisions around a new game im anticipated for, but there is none on the near horizon for me until GTA6 gets its PC release.

          • @OzAmore: I'm greedy and just want one to keep my alienware 3423DW oled company. 4090 driving it and yearns to open the throttle up more!

    • Might be a silly question - Can you reduce the resolution?

E.g. I have a 1080Ti and I've been looking at this monitor and a GPU upgrade. It's unlikely I'll buy both at the same time and will probably purchase monitor first as there's no real AAA games I'm interested in atm.

Could I reduce resolution down from 4K on existing games to not overload my GPU and the 2k is repeated over some pixels similar to upscaling on new GPUs?

        • -1

          Which Samsung monit… Ah nevermind….

      • Code still works

  • If you can spare the extra $63, you can get a brand new one

    Now $1099 (refurb)

    • Epic price.

I've got one already but considering making it a triple set up for my racing Sim.

  • What is the quality like with these refurbs? Are there visible scratches or what?
