The G502X is well worth the little bit extra for the optical switches alone. The mechanical switches in the G502 (non-X versions) are notorious for developing double clicking issues
Can confirm, after 2 years my G502 stated double-clicking. Replaced with 502x which has a semi annoying twanging sound on click, but it's nice and lite.
The double clicking is a Logitech feature at this point. I remember downloading a little inf file to handle it at the OS level back on Windows XP.
Once i am using wireless mouse now, very hard to go back to wired one, I hate the cable swinging around …
Same, bought the Razer Orochi v2 and it's probably my favourite mouse ever. Super lightweight and no cable to deal with; if only the battery life's as good as the Logitech G305 it'd be pretty much perfect.
What's the best deal for the G502 wireless? Hunting for that as well!
I'm considering the switch but the thought of charging it is the one thing that puts me off.
had one of these bad boys for 7 years before getting the newer lightspeed version. these things last!
Honestly think I've had mine for more than 7 years, still going strong.. So good.
G502x is a great buy at $80.
comes up at $68 for me, discount code missing?
I have one of these and while it is a nice mouse the wheel is a slippery plastic mess, so I replaced the wheel with an MX version from Ali. The other problem is that it uses the G-Hub drivers instead of the Options which is a lot better.
Yeah I do find it kinda annoying having to have both pieces of software, Logitech really could have just consolidated both into a single app
Does anyone have experience with the G502 X wireless version??
Is it worth the 150 or so dollars? - in your opinions
I bought the G502 X Plus for $130, and it's been great, other than getting used to narrower mouse buttons and the lightness compared to the wireless office mouse I used before.
The X plus for $130 is a really good deal. JB are price matching at $168
you might as well get the superlight at that price.
The superlight doesn't look like it's an overall better mouse. The areas in which it seems to be better looks VERY niche.
Thank you for the feedback.
I ended up getting the G502 X Plus approx $156.
I got Officeworks to beat the mwave price. Took about $100 off the price.
My mum got me a G502 when in 2015, it's basically 2025 now and I'm still using it fine.
Yes it tends to double click, and yes the middle click button doesn't work anymore…. but I've changed it to the middle mouse button side click so that's fine too.
Anyone fixed the left mouse button + middle mouse button yet? Was it easy?
I replaced the scroll encoder and primary clicks on a GPX, just follow the iFixit guides. Note however, the guide says to just pull out the flex connectors, and later force them back in. This is a sure fire way to lift the pads. So please, lift/pull out the black part of the connector, and push it down/in after reinserting the flex connector. Other than that keep track of the screws as they can be different lengths.
edit: it’s the white part on the connector in my picture.. it might be different for G502. But the concept remains the same.
edit2: also just remembered that you should take a note of how the “mechanical tensioning” springs (as advertised by Logitech) are positioned, mine came out when I was taking out the left and right click.
I got a Logitech MX anywhere in 2013 which developed the double click issue around 2017. I sprayed a little bit of INOX on the switches, and it's been perfect ever since. The cause of the issue on my mouse was corrosion in the switch. INOX works as a contact cleaner. I didn't even have to disassemble the mouse, the buttons pry up, the INOX can had a little nozzle similar to WD40 (don't use WD40), and I was able to spray directly into the switches. I still use the mouse to this day.
Do office works price beat the Good Guys pay less with price beat price?
Fine if you love the shape but these days you can get damn good gaming mice with great sensors, wireless and light weight from Aliexpress for much less.

Stack with AliExpress vouchers to bring them down even lower.
Cheap Chinese mice from AE are in vogue now, some of the stuff they're producing puts brand names to shame. Logitech and other brands have been getting away with murder selling mediocre mice at $100+. Used to use a G Pro Wireless, got an Attack Shark X3 for $25 delivered on sale over a year ago and haven't looked back.
Personally wouldn't get anything from Ajazz or Attack Shark as they seem to have pretty poor quality control. Still, there are many very good mice available from Chinese brands that I would much rather use than the G502.
@CHUNITHM Luminous: What would you get instead then? I'm in need of a new mouse after getting quite a few good years from my G502.
@Quant: I like the Zaopin Z2, IIRC can be had for around $65 on AliExpress quite often. No idea how it will suit your handsize and grip style though.
Looks like the g502x is also on sale for $78 https://www.centrecom.com.au/logitech-g502x-gaming-mouse-bla…
