3 XE75 wifi 6E way to go
I have had the orbi for 2-3 years now. No issues at all with Superloop 1000/50(Around 45 devices connected)
If you want customisation / options then go with Orbis. That is one thing that I miss going from Orbis to Decos.
I'm already in the Deco system so i know how average the control is already
Can you tell me what is lacking in Decos? I am considering going to Decos for the wifi 7 generation.
I am currently on Orbit RBR50.
If you just want a basic router that pretty much just works out of the box without the need to mess around with settings then Deco would be for you.
If you are a tinkering type person, techie or love to be able to customise settings to your liking (like choosing what channels to use for your wifi) then Orbis are better.
Also a big potential negative (or maybe a positive depending on if you prefer it or not) is that your Deco configurations (via the app) can be set over the Internet. It is protected by 2FA and your TP-Link username and password but some people may see this as a "potentially" huge security hole. Also you cannot turn this option off at this point in time.
What kind of customisation / options?
I have had this (base + 3 satellites) for the last 3 years and it has been one of the most reliable wifi routers i've ever used. Never had to reboot it and the speed is excellent. Definitely go the 6E units if you have a lot of 6E devices but for a rock solid system, the Orbi is actually great.
What's the RRP?
RRP $800-$1200
Can you use both of these as satellites? Already have same system but would like to increase wifi area
Orbi routers don't have the ability to work as satellites
Thanks. I thought so. I think it’s decos that you can do that
Can definitely set the router as an access point
Been waiting a very long time for a good orbi deal, picked this up thanks heaps OP.
I upgraded to these from google mesh v2 and paid a lot more. Their biggest strength for me is absolute rock solid reliability, pretty much never missed a beat over more than a year and great coverage. Was really a step up from the google mesh. Negatives some features behind a paywall and limited extra functionality unless you pay.
Anyone knows Do I need another to setup ppoe?
netgear is more stable even this model is outdated.
I've had both (still have the orbi). The orbi give ridiculously better coverage, it wasn't even close in my (very large) house.
Yeah i guess it varies from house to house. we have a 4 level house and with a orbi 850 router and 2 satellites every single room gets hundreds of mbit/s. On the old google tri-mesh there were dead zones where it was literally unusable.
What the FK. Just purchased from Amazon 3 days ago for 497. Grab one and will return Amazon's. By the way, does anyone know can I return the one that I purchase from OW to Amazon?
Saw this yesterday, great deal but can't decide between this or
Amazon eero 6+ dual-band mesh Wi-Fi 6 system, with built-in Zigbee smart home hub and 160 MHz client device support (3-pack) ($389 at the moment) https://amzn.asia/d/e77djDT
Thanks for your input in advance
What's difference between this and Asus mesh routers?
You'll find that the software support with Asus routers are far superior to Netgear.
Asus mesh includes parental control for free. Orbi charges a monthly fee to enable parental control.
Big plus for me - can split Asus into 2.4 and 5.0Mhx networks - means I can run a number of smart devices on the 2.4 network - its a real pain to get them working on smart (combined 2.4/5Mhz networks)
All of my 2.4 devices are connecting fine to the Orbi mixed network
Excellent deal - best in its class at this price point, highly recommend
Both wired and wireless backhaul are solid
Hardly any stock Australia wide: https://officeworks.youinstock.com.au/search/ngorbi6000
hesitation + procrastination are not a good thing :(
Is it possible to customise and specify the path a node takes or is it all automatic? Also, it is possible to lock a client to a specific node and frequency? Thanks.
Orbi, Deco or AiMesh? My Asus AiMesh is still working but main router is already end of life no longer supported but runs Merlin fine with adblocking
Given how everyone’s raving on about them, I got my local HN to price match TGG @ $394. Let’s see if it’s a case of, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
HN cannot be trusted. Don't hand over money to Gerry
I took your advice and found 1 left at my local GG.
