  • Can also price match with OW. Currently at $246

  • Do these need a subscription?

    • +4

Without a subscription you can only see 3 hours of recordings and live viewing.

      • An ok. Thank you.

Paying a subscription to see your own video, when other options do not charge is a hard pass for me.

        • I respect that times are tough for some people, but the subscription fee is only like $10 a month.

          • @solidice: $10 a month … so $1,200 over 10 years (when they don't increase the price)

    1080p…..yuck.

    • Especially in 2025 🤢🤮🤮

  • Largeish discounts on all these Google cams. High probability new version is being released soon?

Or that Google is giving up on that product 😂

      • Their reputation for this is pretty terrible. Google Assistant on some of my Nest mesh wifi points has just gotten more unreliable over the years, like intermittently not understanding me for things I’ve been doing for ages. Occasionally a restart would fix it but sometimes need to wait weeks for a software update.

    • Could also be because these were priced too high and competitor offerings are still cheaper

    That's crazy cheap

Local store couldn’t move them at $300. Ended up going for $200 a few weeks back. I bought and returned them after seeing the ridiculous subscription price ($24 per month if you want 24/7 video history). Hard pass

For recording capabilities, I could agree with you. But considering that a decent LED spot light cost around $200, and you get the additional uses, this is too good bargain not too get for light alone.

    • How much cheaper is it to have a dedicated recorder, UPS and power usage over the course of the year?

  • Can anyone suggest a good alternative with spotlight that doesn't require a subscription?
