If you don’t want the Mario Kart and the membership, it’s also $378.92 after cashback from Everyday Market via The Gamesman

Tristar Online seller is much cheaper at $317.85 after cashback but that’s overseas stock

    • +1

Very tempting, but I have far too much pending cashback locked in with Shopback to push my luck.

    • How to tell it’s overseas stock?

    • +1

Hi would you please explain how I can get a switch for 317.85 from Tristar online?

      Thank you :)

      • +2

Click through via ShopBack, search Nintendo Switch on Everyday Market
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/880960

        • Thanks for the tip! Picked one up 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

Now time to sell off my non oled switch that I got in Black Friday sales 3 years ago 😂 🤦🏽‍♂️

I haven’t used everyday market before so was offered a $10 off first purchase voucher code … alas I’m not taking the risk that it will invalidate the cashback so anyone else going this route have that in mind!

          • @ckieran: How long did it take for it to appear in your account as a pending cashback? I used a $10 coupon but its not there are 2hrs. I'm wondering if you were right and I wasn't supposed to use the voucher.

            • +1

@jmugwump: Surprisingly even though ShopBack said it would take up to 2 days I saw the confirmed cashback appear within an hour or so…

Hope it works out for you in the end!

    • I've just done this. $317.85 was too tempting to pass. But unsure what you mean by overseas stock? Seller is Australian and Stock is in Australia? Are the plugs not Australian compliant?

      • I’ve seen comments on here and in my dms that Tristar sells grey imports

        • +1

I see, thanks. Gonna roll the dice. Can't pass up that price.

    • Wouldn't this be $366.5 as max cashback is up to $350 purchases?

      • $489 from Tristar. 35% of that is $171.15.

        $489-$171.15=?

    • how is it $317.85 after cash back?

      • got it i thought max value for purchase was $350 but its max cash back.

Thanks op - got if for - 292.09 ( used 4% woolies gift card so $479 came down to - 459.84 plus 167.75 cash back) now will claim 10% GST so another 43.54

        so should workout around - 292.09-43.54 = 248.54

    • The Tristar Online comes out to $311.35 if you use the "$10 off your first purchase on Everyday Market" voucher.

Geez that is a dodgy process - I hope it works!

      • I think I just shot myself in the foot. It looks like shopback isn't valid when used with other vouchers.

Now let's see if I can cancel and do it all again….

        • How did cancelling go? I think I made your same mistake. In my "click history", I see I defo activated it before I made the purchase. Not sure I wana wait 48hrs before I register a complaint about the item not being tracked.

Thanks OP. Got one. As a PS fan and older Nintendo fan, its my reintroduction to Nintendo now.

You’re in for a treat - if it’s your first time playing on one.

Have a look at Deku Deals, and maybe create a wishlist there to keep an eye on prices. Look at the price history and you'll notice that games frequently go on sale, so don't feel like you need to rush and buy a bunch to start with… like I might have…

      My top picks would be:
      * Zelda Breath of the Wild for an adventure game
      * Untitled Goose Game for relaxed chaotic fun
      * Mario Kart for fun racing
      * Disco Elysium for an RPG experience like nothing else

After all these years, there's a huge catalogue of games, so you're bound to find something you'll enjoy!

Will check it out. I miss the old Mario games. I play em on emulators. Which recent Mario game is similar to Super Mario and super Mario 3 and the likes? Thanks.

        • I haven't played it, but I think Super Mario Bros. Wonder is the latest 2D Mario game and is well reviewed. It's also on a decent sale at Amazon right now too.

If you like the older titles, you might want to check out Nintendo Switch Online, which offers a lot of the old classics straight on your Switch. You can even get retro controllers for the full experience, if you want.

  • +1

Upgrading my old original Switch, the battery is cooked and stays permanently docked right now.
    $429 is pretty nice honestly!
And I missed out on the deal at 10am, I didn't even see the code pop up, it was ridiculously quick.
Some people must have lightning reflexes!

    • +2

45 seconds and they were all gone!

    • Your local phone/electronics repair shop will probably replace the battery for $100 or so.

The guy at my local mall does it for $80. But I’ve seen others charging $120. Either way, it’s cheaper than a new Switch (and even worth it just to keep it as a second device if you get a new one).

      • +3

Yeah I decided to treat myself, I have replaced batteries in smartphones before, but I kinda wanted the OLED screen, so I bit the bullet :)

    • it is easy to replace battery, you can do it within 10' after watching instructions on youtube.

      • @Andy Nguyen

Any recommended reliable source to obtain one of those batteries?

Will appreciate as well for a good source for 3ds xl & new 3ds xl batteries.

  • Would it not be better to buy via Big W for $449 with 10% cashback via Shopback?

    • +4

Excludes Apple, Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch or Dyson products

    • +3

Nintendo is excluded in cashback, only better with bigW is 5000 EDR and 5% gift card cashbacks

      • +2

Thank you, did not know that.

    • +1

10% off if you have Everyday Rewards Extra?

      • That's a great point.

      • Read the T&Cs. Exclusions include gaming consoles!

  • +1

I think I will stick to my lite and grab switch 2 when it's out. or oled when it drops some more. still too much to pay for this IMO

  • Comes to $401.55 with BIGW using 5% off GC and assuming 5000 EDR points is worth $25.

  • +1

Hope to see similar deals in Amazon.

  • This was my backup deal incase I didn’t get the $360 deal on eBay this morning. Lucky I did, but $429 is still pretty good considering it’s bundled with wonder and a 12 month NSO subscription.

  • "Nintendo has been fairly tight-lipped about the Nintendo Switch sequel outside of confirming that 1) the console is coming and 2) the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released before the end of March 2025." https://www.tomsguide.com/gaming/nintendo/nintendo-switch-2-…
