With huge thanks to this comment I was able to pick up Split Fiction yesterday for $30, with trade of 2x Far Cry 6(jbhifi.com.au) for PS5.
Game needs to have a trade value over $10. I would imagine any pre-owned selling for $28 or more would qualify, but as always, call ahead and check the trade value. If over $10, you're good to go!

I did this today but the person at the counter seemed annoyed over it. They did it anyway, but they were like "oh yes these are definitely fresh copies".

I always do a case swap when I do these trade ins, basically all my games have nice shiny cases now.
EB gets whatever my most beat-up case is (which is usually a pre-owned EB game anyway)

Far Cry 6 is 2 for $30 at JB.
FC6 is on the eligible trade in games list, so you trade in 2 copies and take advantage of the trade 2 and get Split Faction for $0.
So to clarify the deal, you end up spending $30 at JB for 2 copies of FC6 and then trade it into EB to get Split Fiction for $0

Keep in mind, this list gets updated from their side quite regularly so they will use that line to NOT give it out.
none of these are ever free, you are giving them games that you own of value and they only give you a discount. its misleading yet some people still argue that its free because you arent 'paying' anything

You can do this with FC6 and Metro Exodus - those two are still for $30 on JB and avoids the issue for having multiple copies of the same game.
oh damn, I had ordered 2 copies of FC6 thinking Exodus won't be eligible.
Should be ok - if you go to a friendly EB store shouldn't give you grief about it. Issue is ps5 version seems OOS in most stores
call of duty vanguard for xbox series same cost and many copies everywhere
skulls and bones on both consoles also work but harder to find

Bargain! I would have done the same but my JB was closed for cyclonic reasons. So I got it from Target for $55.
Took a full day to install, it kept stopping at 20%, could have been a disk issue.
