Thank you, Christmas present for my dad last year and now this year. He loved it.

    • +1

He is probably just too nice. Get him this plus something a bit more valuable if you can afford it.

      • -1

Oh it won’t be the only thing he gets aha

  • +1

Thanks op!!! I’ve missed out on this deal in the past; however, i’ve finally snagged one… thanks heaps

  • How many uses does this kit covered. Is it a one-time use thing only or can be used several times ?

    • +2

Can be used several times… I think there's 20 odd Chlorine tabs, but the other reagents you'll get i'm guessing close to 50 tests?

  • Thanks OP, bought 1

  • -1

Thanks OP I have one unopened from last time in case I sack my pool guy. Hmm should I buy another…

  • Cheers OP :)

  • Nice one op

  • Amateur hour and excuse my ignorance because I'm new to pool maintenance.
What's the benefit of this test kit over taking a pool water sample to local pool shop or the machine at Bunnings?

    • +14

You don't have to go to the pool shop or bunnings..?

      • Thanks! Bought one!

    • +2

you don't get hustled into buying chemicals that you don't need

    • +1

Think of this as "low level" maintenance testing - but you get so much more info from computer testing.

Also, if you have a fibreglass pool - a lot of the manufacturers require computer analysis monthly with proof to hold warranty.

    • +1

Convenience - once you've got things balanced, you can just test at home and only do the pool shop every now and then for things that can't be tested with this, such as CYA and Salt levels etc - which are usually things you need to put in once or twice a year.

    • Does bunnings have a machine, is there a list of locations that have it?

      • Bunnings just has the off the shelf dip sticks for you to use. Peak summer they are always empty.

  • Phew - great timing, was running out of all my reagents.

  • +1

Finally got it, missed the last two years

  • would this kit be applicable to spas as well?

    • Yes

      • +1

phew. thanks. it would have been embarassing to have ordered it and find out that it wasn't relevant. ;)

        • +4

I can only imagine the shame it would have brought to your family name. Lucky!

        • No worries. The water chemistry for spas is the same, just on a smaller scale.

  • Great deal! Thanks rep.

    • Surely this is a joke? I just wanted one and already out of stock…

    • +3

      @poolspa Delete his order :)

      • +1

        And don’t refund him :)

  • -4

Bought one and don't have a pool

    • +1

      I have a pool and missed out…

I think your flex holds more weight.

  • Replacing my old one. Probably got it for 5 dollars. Thanks OP. Pool testing sorted for the season.

  • +2

Does this work with salt water pools?

  • Darm, missed it :(

  • I was just there today and there was no mention of this in store! Are they old stock going out of date?

    • Seems to be a deal they do every 6 months or so. Bought my last one from them this time last year.

  • -5

Ordered 10 to flog off to family for $20 a pop

  • Damn, out of stock already. Shane as my parents would've been interested.

  • My card got charged but when it went back to the site it said they are out of stock. Hopefully the authorisation will drop off after a couple of days.

  • +2

Great price, shame I got rid of my pool, was good until the fibreglass cracked at the deep end, 3k to fix vs 3.5 to remove and backfill, easiest decision I ever had to make.

    • That's what you get for getting a fibreglass pool. Concrete all the way.

      • Concrete costs way more than 3.5k to remove though.

        • Why would you remove a concrete pool?

          • @Broden: Buy a house that has a pool. Don’t really want a pool but love the house. Throw some costly repair issues onto that.

  • Missed it. that was fast.

  • Do the reagents expire? We found a test kit in the shed when we bought our house, no idea how old it is. Used it and compared against a newer test kit that I bought, and the results aligned, but unsure if I should trust/use it or just chuck it. (given I've just bought this for $5, I may as well chuck the unknown one, but would still be interested to know)

missed out AGAIN!! son of a

  • Bugger missed out!

  • Just time but but missed it again loll

Are these started low stock or sold fast?

  • +1

Missed it every time it's been done 😞.

  • If there is one thing I'm good at, it's missing this deal.
