Appears to be an ATL for the 85” without including Cashback or other peripherals (like the Music Frame).

What is this atl you speak of?
authority to leave - when you can't afford a TV so you steal it off someone's porch
Ah,I'm a dumbass. Thanks for the heads up :)
@borrisz0r: Ha ha, you rockjob
All time low :)
My first buy in my wish list, need to own a house first hahaha
Anyone have one of these, or a Hisense etc?
I read you have to carve out a space in the wall for the break out box on the Frame, sounds like a PITA. Also, the samsung art software is a bit flaky ?The Samsung art software sucks. There's limited options for displaying your own images and the rest push you to a subscription.
It comes with a STB that has all the actual ports, and then a single cable provides power and signal to the TV from the STB, if that's what you mean. It's a lot more convenient than having to work with ports behind the TV if it's wall mounted. You either have the single cable visible coming down the wall, or lead the cable behind the wall to your TV cabinet if you want it hidden. Not a PITA at all and much better than having to deal with multiple cables.
I got a 55 a few months ago, have not had any issues with it. It is quite fiddly installing the TV on the low profile brackets that it came with. But no complaints around the art software or anything. I signed up for a year of it.
I bought one from a recent deal with Bing Lee.
The Frame OS is terrible. We have it connected to a soundbar (also another OzB!) via HDMI and the frame always has an issue identifying the darn thing. Always defaults to TV speakers. While displaying art, you can try to automate turning on/off via Smart Things, which makes the TV turn on/off in the middle of watching something.. Or middle of the night
Oh and when you watch Netflix, in the most recent OS update, you can't seem to open your Settings menu. Go figure. Apparently the Netflix app is running in the background, yadda yadda.
Display is nice. Personally i don't notice the 100Hz better smoothness. When it works, it's great.
there is a setting to disable simultaneous output (speakers and external speakers) and that might fix this issue…
i had similar issue but when connecting my edifier speakers via Optical so it might be not a similar situation to you
but yeah, Tizen OS is terrible as I have an LG WebOS and its waaay better
I've been using it with the 2020 Q950T soundbar in Q Symphony mode and haven't really had issues with it.
I quite dislike the newer Tizen OS software though. On my 2020 Samsung when I press the Home button, I just get a small menu at the bottom with my pinned apps immediately available. Now a full screen menu pops up and the default selection is between the Home, Live and App tabs, and I have to scroll down to access by pinned apps, ever single time. Why.
Frame has issues, but is superior than a Hisense, which in this country is crippled by its OS, VIDAA.
i have the 75"
You dont have to carve out the wall for the box.
There is a long optical cable from the tv to the box so you can put the box on a rack or console below or near where the TV is mounted providing you have a wall cavity to run the optical cable through.
All this issue about carving the box is only if you want a really clean look with no console or rack underneath such as where some people decides to hang the tv above a fireplace (which i think is a bad idea anyway!)
Can you please confirm how long the optical cable is? I heard it's 2.5mtrs? If so, do you know if a longer one can be purchased?
We picked up the 85 earlier this year for around the same price and IMO this is good value. You don’t need to carve out space in the wall for the box as there’s a single transparent cable that connects it to the tv - so you can stash the box in an entertainment unit etc and the cable is well disguised running down/across the wall. The tv has the IR receiver for the remote, not the box.
Personally, every tv in our house is a frame and all of the boxes are stashed away in cupboards/storage units on the other side of the wall or, for our 85, under the house. With screen casting and all the streaming apps, we very rarely need a hdmi connection nor access to the one connect box.
Software can be a little flakey but I actually noticed that the remote was the problem for many of my grievances, which was solved by pairing again.
Art store is ok. We’ve got the subscription but honestly don’t find ourselves going through and changing the art that much. Because we’ve got a few frames, the subscription feels a bit more worth it, but for one tv it might be better value purchasing from other sources like Etsy and uploading to your art library. I’ve found this fairly easy to do.
Hey mate, can you please confirm how long the optical cable is?
hope we can have e-ink version soon.
have 2022 version, love it, lags a bit as soon as you turn the TV.
got the 65 inch few months ago. no complaints. very happy with it.
Its a good price but %49 off is lie, there is no such a thing as 5816$ RRP
This or TCL C855? The TCL 85 inch is 2800 approximately
function vs form. brightness/colour better on TCL but this one is nicer to put in a living room as decor
The C855 is significantly better
This is good for hanging on a wall, that’s about it
Have you seen the TCL NXTFrame?
They are now available in Australia but I'm struggling to find many reviews.
Feedback on Reddit seems mixed: picture quality and os seems better than Samsung but a couple of odd design decisions may make installation a PITA (power location, bracket installation)
TCL better. Biggest issue I have with the frame is the viewing angles are horrible.
I was eyeing this and C855 but our living room has so much sunlight we couldn't see much during the day so we went for the Frame due to its matte screen.
if you don't have reflection issues, definitely get the C855.
Thanks for the input friends… I also see that the 98 inch is currently for 5700…. Any ideas it will further go down this side of Christmas?
ah i havent been watching the 98" price tbh…
I've only been watching the 75" and 85" of both C855 and Frame in the past months
Never trust Samsung TVs, they always get problems with black spots.
Just bought the 55" on Appliances Online eBay with $100 off. So $1166!
Good guys price matching to Appliance Online now using the price beat button
We have two 60" LCD TVs and want to upgrade the one in the living room with a bigger one as my wife watches it from the kitchen so thinking of getting either a 75" or 85". We primarily watch full HD live streaming videos (no games) on Youtube so our needs are very basic. The room is usually very bright but haven't had any issues with our existing ones so don't think most TVs will be a problem.
Now the budget is very low, preferably under $1500 if possible. Most important thing, it has to be Samsung (don't ask me why) so I am looking at a couple of options.
