What is this? A TV got whales?

      Story of my life

  • Another pricing error?

    • Has been this price on there for the past few weeks

  • Too early for reviews? This or Hisense 85" U8NAU?

    • U8NAU if its 2025 model. Reviews suggested it has better colours and brightnesses than 2024 model.

      • +2

        But VIDAA

        • I kno rite?

        • +1

The reason I just ordered a new tv, hate that os with so much passion

      • +1

I believe they were also using inferior panels compared to the US. Is that still the case?

  • is C7K the next gen of C855?
Tried comparing the specs but not quite sure if they are considered the same level..

    • +1

It the C755 replacement. C6K is the base model

      • When would be the best time to find a deal on the previous series (655, 755, 855) now that they're discontinued? Will retailers do a clearance just before the new models come out?

        • +3

A lot of these sales have started already but will continue over the next month or two - depending on stock we could see some decent deals I would imagine. 2025 models starting to come out now and over the next couple of weeks. I know Sony are doing their big reveal on April 2. I even saw a 2025 model TCL on the JB website on Friday.

        • +2

Pretty sure they already cleared out most of those stocks

        • +1

From what I've seen, TCL and most brands have best deals at black friday (eg November last year) and Feb-March for clearance before new models hit shelves. That's looking back at a few years of TV sales on ozbargain. Boxing day can be alright too some years for some models.

You'll still see some deals pop up where a particular model has sufficient stock to clear though. Also definitely doesn't hurt to ask for deals at the retailers on 2024 models.

        • Retailers already starting their deals in March. I know, i got a 98 inch c755 with free wall mount and delivered for $3650 this month. This would be ongoing till june untill stock dry up.

Then on black friday is another tv deals. Seems to be the norm for retailers for big ticket items like TV.

    • +3

I tgink C8K would be equivalent to C855.

    • Has TCL fixed that awful reflection they had in the C845?

    • C8K should be the next C855. For some reason though doesnt seem like many stores stock the 855.

  • +1

very expensive for a 7 series

paid 2700 for my 85c855 which is likely superior to this

  • -5

Why is there never deals on big, cheap TVs? Just this oled and microled stuff?

    • +2

I would argue that there a lot of deals on big, cheap TV's. However the bigger the TV gets the more that having a direct backlit method (like Mini LED) rather than edge lit, likely becomes important.

  • hard to justify OLED with these specs and prices.

  • I ordered the 55" version of this from Good Guys Commercial last week. $1243.

    • -6

      Why not $1234 ?

      • Because good guys made a typo

        • not good then…

  • Anyone know if we're getting the c8k flagship?

    • +1

      the c8k flagship?

      At around $3,500 for 65", $6,000 for 85"
      might be too expensive.

      • What, you serious?? May as well get OLED for that price?

So a c855 at around $2000 seems like a better deal than getting a C7K, what a shame from TCL 2025 lineup. Maybe time to look at hisense offering.

        • May as well get OLED for that price?

or just go for a c7k… Way better value for money…

          • @jv: Will need to wait for reviews to see c7k vs c855.

            • @Ilikecars:

Will need to wait for reviews to see c7k vs c855.

Yep… Then pick one up later during the sales…

        • Maybe time to look at hisense offering.

          Inferior picture, sound and OS.

  • Any local reviews on these yet?

  • +1

How's this new naming convention work then? Any guesses what the successor to the C7K and C8K will be called? I thought C655, C755, C855 were pretty clear.

    • +2

Maybe Going Sony Style and it'll be C8L, C8O etc?

      • Gives 'em a couple years breathing room til we get around to the C8Z I suppose.

  • I am in a desperate need of a new TV, Samsung 75" decided to have a nice long sleep. (3 years old, cannot remember the model)

Would prefer an 85" but 75" will suffice (definitely prefer an android TV) and wife will not buy a Samsung again)
Room has unfortunately plenty of light that creates glare

(Pricing is just based on GG Commercial)

    TCL as per post $3178
    or
    Sony Bravia 7 75" $3795.00
    or
    Sony 85" X90L $3404.00
    or
    QNED86 86" (WebOS) $2995.00
    or
    Hisense 85" U7NAU $2415 (VIDAA)

I'd contact Samsung first, for me, three years is not acceptable for a product the price of a TV and you may have decent grounds for a repair.

      • three years is not acceptable for a product the price of a TV

        Depends on the tv….

      • Now need to get it off the wall to get the model number

      • I'd take my Samsung dying as a win, hard to buy a new TV otherwise. It's a good TV, but software limitations really make it suffer. Full android tv with easy sideliading is a must for me now.

    • tcl c855 or sony bravia 9 if you can afford it

      • tcl c855 is in the ball park of the other listed TV's the Bravia 9, is an extra $2k so it off the list (Though the wife may leave me if i buy it.. which would save me money..) :P

        • +1

that would be my pick, checked Bravia 7 and c855 in store and the C855 was the clear winner (i've written a more detailed review before)

hence I got the c855 and it has been great

  • I love my C855 & C745.

This is a great price for a freshly released TV

  • Just finished setting up my 65 Inch, thanks OP.

Picture quality is fantastic, and games looks equally as stunning without any tearing etc. Response time is really good too. Running a 9800x3d/9070xt in anticipation for Skyblivion later this year.

    Very happy for the price.

  • Was thinking of getting the 2025 TCL C855 75" but going with the LG QNED86A 75" (2025) model for $1500 (50% off). Hope its good since it been more than a decade since my last tv.
