Samsung 85 Inch Q60D 4K UHD QLED Smart HDR TV 24 QA85Q60DAWXXY
Seems like a good price for that size tv
50hz?
no hdr?
It has HDR, but yes only 50Hz
I was very keen to grab one until I saw this. Thanks. No deal.
Still a good price for those where 50Hz doesn't matter.
Agreed. If you only watch movies then it’s ideal, but for any gaming or sports etc I would avoid.
@Not Applicable: Yea not sure why in 2024 they make a tv with 50hz, 60hz should be the minimum for good gaming experience
@ozvictor: 50hz and 60hz is exactly the same thing. 50hz is used as an Australia standard while 60hz is used in the USA. This TV handles both 50hz or 60hz perfectly.
@ronburgundy11: yeah please don't pass on this just because its 50hz and you want 60hz, the reddit post from @ronburgundy11 explains it perfectly.
@ozvictor: too dry
Wait, so there are TV's now from reputable brands that won't be do 60Hz? Is that really now a thing I now need to look out for when buying a TV?
No, 50hz and 60hz is the same thing, just different country standards.
https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/bsk9ir/what_is_the_dif…
@ronburgundy11: I'd never seen a TV advertised as 50 hz when it does 60 hz. Weird. I mean I get we run 50 hz electricity and that historically dictated a 50 frame rate standard, but just weird to see it read "native 50 hz" refresh rate, where "native" in regards to TV's and monitors typically means "maximum" or "fixed", such as native resolution.
What are you talking about?
He's the type of person to turn off the fridge at night to save power
@krisspy: Makes sense to turn off the fridge
I kind of get what he means, if you haven’t used HDR on a quality high end display, it’s worthless. HDR on a cheap TCL is much worse than SDR. HDR on a high end OLED? Then it’s worth it
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/579228
Although I don’t know of it happens with all TVs, but mine goes from 180W up to 396W when Dolby Vision or HDR is activated. It’s pretty mental. I haven’t really seen anyone else complaining about it other than the thread posted above. Either way, 200W just to watch something in HDR is shot IMO
HDR requires a much higher brightness, hence higher average power consumption
is why in EU, panels come with power ratings for both SDR and HDR modes
https://www.label2020.eu/the-new-label/product-groups/tvs-an…
@HeXa: We need that in Australia. An extra 200W is a crazy amount of power for something that is barely noticeable. The annoying thing is that you can’t turn it off for most streaming services either.
I know I’ve got heaps of downvotes for this. But doesn’t anyone else have a problem with it?? Out are you all blindly attributing higher electricity bills to inflation?
So cheap, it’s $2995 in jb
Oh wow that's a stupid rrp.
Tcl c755 is around $2600 Street price and its specs make this look like an 85" paperweight
Specs are not everything. It's execution. But, yeah c755 looks decent.
Definitely, a big part. I wouldnt be throwing around that comment if tcl wasn't half decent.
But when the difference in specs are on opposite spectrums (mini led, FALD, 144 VRR, Dolby vision) hard not to question things.
Price beat makes it 1185. Even cheaper than 65 inch. Must be a price error. Order now if you want big tv.
Limited shipping sadly
$1154 delivered from TGG eBay store with code SAVETHG
Please add store name in the title
Legend
Comes up saying they dont deliver in my area
Time to move house then!
The listing had 5 sold when I first your comment.. now at 60 and still climbing haha
People out here impulse buying 85” TVs like it’s a $1 Mars bar at the supermarket checkout lol
Don't forget the average income for Ozbargainers is $260k base
@0 0 0: per month, right?
@greennick: On a slow month.
‘Buy first think later’
Legend as usual mate. Bought 2.
Legend. I grabbed one. Let's see if they come through with the goods.
true ozzbargainer… thanks got one for less than the deal
This listing was ended by the seller on Wed, 11 Sep at 8:45 AM because the item is no longer available.
50 Hz
Cheap for the size, but would be like watching a wall sized time lapse film. I feel motion sick thinking about it.
85" digital photo frame.
You realise most films are in 24Hz?
For people also use their TV's for Xbox, PS and sports, 50Hz will be an issue for that.
That's where the issue is.
For the rest, a good deal.
Yeah but motion sickness?
@smartazz104: Some eyes are more sensitive to this than others.
@xoom: That's ridiculous. People playing a PS5 in fidelity mode are only getting 30hz, effectively, and they're managing to not get motion sickness.
It's fine to want a higher frame rate, but no one is being made to feel ill by 50hz.
@Vinnie Vegas: Its like pwm on screens. Many go about not being affected by it but a few are.
Like i said. Just because you are not affected by it then no one else is?
@xoom: I'm not sure how this comment could be negged. Maybe some brains run at lower frequencies and they can't process eyeball data fast enough to be aware of artificial motion.
@Schniz2: Whatever the reason. It exists. Again just because one is not affected. Don't mean no one is.
I'm not referring to the frame rate only. Look at the specs. It's motion handling is terrible like all bottom of the range TV's.
Do some research on variable refresh rate, interpolation, black frame insertion, response time, artifacts before you neg me.
I can live with low refresh rates (since I only watch tv and film), but there's nothing worse than poor motion handling. Except maybe terrible contrast and washed out blacks.
50Hz is fine, really. For the size, it's a very good price.
Don't need it but don't why I still bought it lol
Know
FOMO ruined even writing 😪
Same now i am thinking cancellation as it may be too big for the room, lol
I bought then cancelled. I have a 65 inch that I barely use lol
@Wilson Wallace: i also cancelled my order, lol
@reacher: Think we did them a favour as many orders might be cancelled. Hopefully the people who purchased early on receive their beautiful tv
Bought one price error surely.

This is an average TV. Not good for watching sport or movies
The problem with TV reviewers is they are comparing to other current or recent model TVs, whereas the reality is most people are replacing an old tv they have had for many many years, so that would be the comparison that matters.
You are right compared to my old pioneer plasma all these TVs suck.
Also, they compare with similar RRP product. Not when price is 1/3 of RRP… all scores should boost after price drop.
It's not even an average TV. It is an entry level TV. But that is what many people are looking for, to be fair.
I picked up a 75" eko for 500 on clearance, coming from a top end panasonic plasma, yeah OK the blacks arent as good but the TV is twice the size, the picture is fine, the built jn Android is fine (Better than my vtv) and we play xbox all the time and it's… Absolutely fine
Absolutely valid. When the built in Android starts giving up, just slap a Firestick or Chromecast on it and it will be absolutely fine again. For many people, this is all they want from a TV.
@ronburgundy11: Also, put a power meter on it and uses 60W on, 6w sleep and 0.5w off
Not good for watching sport or movies
What is it good for then? Games?
Bought one. Not high end but very good on the price. Other stores selling it more than double the price.
Got one
Brought one , thanks , should be good upgrade from linsar 70 inch
Pulled the pin… i cant be bothered waiting for 120hz 85 inch at around this price so this will do the job
It appears it's not a price error. Just reveived a sms to select delivery date and earliest available date was Sunday.
Order is awaiting pick up now so looks like we would receive it on Sunday.
