Evening OzBargain Metalheads,

Back again with another black Friday deal, this time it's for the Definitive Edition of Nine Inch Nails 1994 album, The Downward Spiral.
According to Amazon's listing, this is the 2017 reissue which has been remastered and is pressed on 180gm double vinyl & includes a 12 page booklet.

I had a look around for this reissue and the cheapest I could find it in stock was $90 plus postage, so half the price for this from Amazon at $49.11 if you have Prime.
Also, the camels say the cheapest this item has been from Amazon is $43.66 on Oct 08, 2019.

As always, enjoi…🤘🏻.

Got major depression from listening to this album 14 times in a row in my 20s. Now a lifelong fan of NIN 10/10

    • Such a perfect soundtrack to states of mental anguish and emotional turmoil. Good job, Trent, ya sicko.

Awesome. I always loved NIN. Trent has an amazing voice. Great album

one of the best, if not the actual best album of the 90's. still sounds brilliant today. would definitely not call them a metal band though

NIN did a pretty good cover of Johnny Cash's song, Hurt /s

    • +1

      Other way around.

      • Thats what the /s was for…

Granted Trent did describe Cash's cover was similar to having someone else kiss your girlfriend…

    • gold. think i must be the only one who doesn't like the cash version, sure, sad & a legend was dying but it's not even a smidge on the original. think ive even heard trent gush over it agree cash made it his…

I implore all NIN fans to listen to Richard Cheese's cover of Closer.

It's mindblowing that Mr. Reznor had set up a studio to record this magnificent album (and the Broken EP) in the house where Sharon Tate was murdered many years beforehand.

The soundtrack to your suicide. Avoid at all costs.

    • Let me guess, jesus saves?

      • Let me guess - you wear all black clothes, with a splash of purple, black eyeliner, black lipstick, and one of those chokers with spikes on it so that you can't be strangled to death when you start reciting the lyrics of this record around the campfire.

"The Downward Spiral became a self-fulfilling prophecy," lamented Trent

        • Stereotyping won't get you anywhere and you can stop with the Kerrang magazine links who're one of the most untrusted music outlets.
Still trying to use music as a scapegoat for suicidal teens, how very 1980's Judas Priest of you🙄.

I know you probably won't answer me but again, which unwashed flavour of religion do you subscribe too?

          • @scooba: And you accuse me of stereotyping? FFS

            • @robertxx74: The charlatan still won't answer me, how original lol.

              • @scooba: I so hope you enjoy barking at your own projections for many years to come.

                • -1

@robertxx74: If anyone is projecting anything, it's you robert. Telling people they will suicide if they listen to music is downright pathetic in 2024, not to mention replying to me without replying to me like a child.

                  Thanks for playing👍🏻.

                  • @scooba: You thought I was saying that people will commit suicide if they listen to it? I'm sure there are a few desperate people in dire straits that such miserable messaging could push over the edge, but what I wrote was hyberbole. It was intended to communicate that this is worthless garbage. Poorly chosen words perhaps. I own this and other self indulgent travesties like "OK Computer". They've sat on my record shelf unplayed for decades. 90s vinyl. Worth several hundreds now. I really should sell them. Maybe you'd be interested.
