    with AI-enabled capabilities

Oooft… power usage must be through the roof then!

    • Yes. If the roof is operated by power.

I had to look up what the actual AI capabilities are. It's basically enhanced QOS-like features that are automated. Selecting WiFi channels with less congestion, prioritising traffic based on patterns (i.e. gaming) and parental controls.

i.e. a bunch of nested IF statements 😂

Gotta love catchphrases for old people. First it was cloud and now AI.

@Make it so if that's all it takes to make something "AI enabled", then I'm going to say this about 50% of my work-related spreadsheets.

          • @thisisscotts: Definitely. A.I. is just the same stuff with increased complexity. Some is genuinely advanced, but much of it is just basic conditional logic that was achievable 30 years ago.

Check the comments on previous posts. These are only good if you're planning to flash them to OpenWRT.

  • Good price for two 4-stream radios.

Although the 2.4ghz one is 802.11n only, not 11ax.

I'll note that you'll probably end up trading a little bit of speed on 2.4ghz for stability if you flash OpenWrt, given that they don't support QAM256 on 11n. (Which is more of a vendor quirk than anything)

CPU performance is decent, it's not mindblowing but it's still a step above the MT7621. Gigabit SQM won't be possible.

Yeah, I made the mistake of ordering the 4 pack. They are absolutely terrible. Flashed 2 to OpenWrt but struggling to put them in mesh setup. If I somehow manage to, I’ll flash the remaining 2.

Also, hard to flash them back to stock either. Stuck on how to compile the binary.

I was on the verge of buying these some months ago at a similar price and then I started reading the reviews.

    You should read the reviews.

  • Any recommendations for good version of these ?

  • Great Wi-Fi router, after flashing to openwrt.

    Awful, awful devices.

  • +1

never go with cheap dlink . Buy asus one

  • Want 1 or 2, not 3. Anyone got one to spare?

  • Why the bad reviews? Is this worst then my budget Tenda Novas? Mw3 mw6s

  • With Openwrt, can one specify which parent node a child node connects to? Also, is it possible to lock a device to a specific node and wifi frequency? Thank you.

  • What is "Clean Network Initiative compliant for security and privacy"? Chinese American firewall?
