  • Its all a load of crap. Same deal last year refreshed after 1 second past the time they went on sale and the tyres were magically not available.

I should have also noted, rang prior to see if they had them, rang a day or so after to see if they had them and low and behold they did, they never ended up on sale.

    • I remember 2 years ago I called like 11:45pm and waiting to 12:30am they still booked it in

Must of been the last deal

      • Same here, I called before the deal ended and was able to get a set fitted.

        • Ya but kind of think of it this brand wears out faster

  • Good value good performance but doesn't last as long as Michelin. Find that it sags more and wears out quicker.

  • +1

Anyone considering the P7 cinturato (which imo are the best for small cars) make sure you get the P7c2 which is the much improved new version. The old plain p7s are still sold and usually around same or even more expensive price

  • +1

Great deal but avoid mycar like a plague. Customer service is non-existent and telco level of incompetence.

    • Not my experience

  • Anyone know if a good road tyre exists for the ranger raptor?

  • I haven’t read the thread but , beaurepairs doing 50% off all tyres again for Black Friday?

    • Haven't seen one in the past few years.

      • I bought a set of Yokohama’s for the 4B last year for 50% off and it was a week long sale .
Bob Jane also has a 50% off sale, but is only for one day.

        • Got a link for 50% off at Bob Jane? I’ve only seen 40%

    • +2

      Beaurepairs collapsed earlier this year.

      • Really , aren’t the stores still open?

        • AFAIK, stores are closed, sold or rebranded. Some stores are now Goodyear Autocare. Distribution of Dunlop and Goodyear have also been split to different companies.

Just for people to know these are the treadwear ratings for 225/45/r17 that I got from a rep. They don't last long. I've had similar experience with previous Pirelli P7 on 205/60/r16 (mod: edited). Most of the equivalent Kumho's have much higher treadwear ratings.

    IP Code Product description Treadwear
    4007000 225/45R17 94W XL PWRGY 300
    2493600 225/45R17 91W P7cint 280
  • I bought a set of Pirelli PowerGY Tyres @ mycar Tyre & Auto @ 50% off at last years black friday sale. I checked with other tyre retailers BJ and Tyrepower etc and it was a genuine 50% off sale compared to the others. I had no problem with my booking, dropped my car off and one hour later got a call to pick up the car.

I took advantage of the free puncture repair, the tyre was sliced on the inside and unrepairable. They replaced the tyre with a new one under their 12 month warranty. Could not be happier.

As far as their car servicing costs 150K toyota book service was $408.00 compared to my local mechanic recommended by the RAA price was $290.00

  • Last year i had some trouble getting these fitted at nearest mycar. They had misplaced one of the tyres and they couldn’t find one in their shop. So had to go again to get them fitted. I am not sure how’s others experience with mycar. Tyres are going strong otherwise

  • Would it be worth seeing if Tyrepower would match this? Their customer service is much better.

  • Does anyone have advice on good tires for a RAV4 replacement? Should I just stick with the brand it originally came with or are there better options?
Mainly city driving in my instance so longevity, fuel economy and comfort and what I’m interested in and probably in that order although all are important.
I have no idea how to choose a good tyre and most information is biased towards a particular brand although there’s plenty of advice for performance prioritised tires which isn’t my use case?
Tx for any info, particularly interested in other Rav4 Hybrid owners experiences or drivers of similarly sized vehicles.

Any known big brand. Stay away from the chinese owned companies. People here think they are driving a racing car everyday. Most likely the ozbarginer a toyota camry or corolla. The only difference between tyre patterns is how fast you plan on dropping the kids off at school. Wet weather performance across major brands are pretty standard, you will only notice if you get a cheaper brand or over inflate or deflate your tyres

Yokohama, Pirellie, hankook, khumo, toyo, bridgestone etc

I reckon this post will get neg but not going to lie. You most likely wont feel a difference besides the fact they are new and very grippy only when its worn to the limit u can feel it

      • +1

good reputable non Chinese brands….cant go wrong.

  • They never seem to have stock for the tyres I need, 225/55R19

  • Will we be able to stack it with any discounted Fuel and Auto Visa Prepaid cards like the ones from Blackhawk?

Does anyone know the MCC for Mycar Tyre and Auto?

    Thanks

  • Tesla owners, which tyres are you guys going for?

    • I'm deciding against Pzeros. T0

  • 315/35R20 PIRELLI P ZERO PZ4 are $1,275 each..

  • Damn. Pulled the trigger on Bob Jane 40% last week with the Kumho brand. And One of the tires already popped today. Bad brand or bad luck maybe :-?

    • Just bad luck mate. Get Bob Jane to replace it.

  • can u just buy tyre and take to home for spares?

    • Yes, you don't have to have them fitted. But remember that there is a pretty strict shelf life on the rubber - less than five years if I recall?

  • Tyre suggestion please for my Mitsubishi Outlander, looking for 225/55 R18 type. Thanks

    • +1

Last year only needed front 2 changed on my outlander so got the "PIRELLI SCORPION VERDE ALL SEASON 98H". They have been good especially in the wet. Though I need to replace the rear now and can't find any of that particular model tyre nearby that dont say "limited stock".
      https://www.mycar.com.au/tyres/pirelli/scorpion-verde-all-se…

Im sure the other pirelli offering will suit an outlander just fine through. Its an endearing, reliable and handy family car… and thats where the praise ends.
      https://www.mycar.com.au/tyres/pirelli/scorpion-ms/225-55R18…

      • Thanks for the suggestion, sure will look for PIRELLI SCORPION VERDE ALL SEASON 98H

      • Got quote from Mycar as $325 per tyre, for 225/55 R18 PIRELLI SCORPION VERDE ALL SEASON 98H

I will see if I can find stock and order on Friday. Thanks.

  • Apologies in advance for what is likely to be a silly question. What is the additional cost (if any) for fitting?

    • Fitting and disposal of the old tyres are included in the price you see on the website.

  • Does Pirelli make tyres suitable for an EV?

  • Good resource to compare the different categories/models in the Pirelli range https://www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre/Pirelli/

  • +5

Ah the old bait and switch again. Last time they had the Pirelli deal I ordered them, was booked in a week later. I went in on the day and they said the tyres weren't delivered yet and had to reschedule for the following week. The day before I was scheduled to go in, I get a phone call saying that they aren't getting the tyres in, but will sell me some more expensive ones that they have in stock instead. Told them to forget it, i wasn't falling for that.

  • You guys just happened to need to change the tire around this time, lol?

How often should you change it?

    • +1

Change when it wears out or if other things happen like the rubber goes hard over time, cracks in sidewalls due to age or other damage. Tyres can lose grip as they age as the rubber goes harder so if you do have an emergency stop or other close call, it can make a difference.
If you only have 10% tread left, better to change now at half price instead of smaller discount later. At 10% left, wet peformance can also be reduced so can make the difference between an accident and near miss.

  • Mycar worker cross threaded three nuts on my mum's lancer and then tried to blame her mechanic..

    • Funny you say that Mycar worker lost one of my nut cap, and tried to put the blame on me lol.

In the end they coughed up with a new cap.

      • They did the same to at Mycar Berwick
Put someone else's nut on my car and damages the stud and then refused to compensate me later

  • Convenient as I need 4 new PIRELLI Scorpion Verde All Season 275/40R21 107V tyres.
Price today on Mycar website is $800, so presumably will go to $400. Ebay / Tempe tyres seem next cheapest at $460 per tyre (after $20 coupon), no fitting, so looks to be a good price! Stock availability seems problematic though…

  • They told me no stock in Pirelli P7 in 225/45r17 suggested 235/45r17 and said they could fit them end of December

  • I have Bridgestone Potenza RE050A 245/35 R20 95Y on my Holden, does anybody know what would be its equivalent in Pirelli Tyres ? Did some research but unable to workout a match between these two.

    • +2

      P zero Pz4

  • Just to clarify - you MUST have the fitting done by MyCar right?

    • Ring & find out.

      Don't expect any savings though.

  • My car came with 185/60/r16 do you think it would be ok to use 195/55/r16? Also do the tyres have to be in stock to book for the black friday deal?

  • Any recommendations for 215/45R18 tyres for a Mazda 3?

    • I am running on Michelin Primacy 4 ST, nice, quiet and comfortable tyres. Not on this sale of course.

      • Was hoping for more affordable ones. Thanks though.

  • I had my eyes on PZero PZ4 and bookmarked it few days ago. Today the said product isn't accessible and when I opened through the bookmark, it just took me to their homepage.

    • Must have happened this evening. Was there earlier today. Pirelli not have included PZ4 time as that was probably their best performance tyre on mycar.
Was showing as OOS at a few of the stores i check since the post so wouldnt have been able to order online anyway. May still be able to get the deal by going instore.

  • Does anyone know the Merchant code for Mycar?
Just wondering if the Fuel and Auto Visa card can be used. Thanks

  • Hi, I checked 225/55/18 tyres and there's limited stock for all nearby stores, and I can't add to the cart online; is it easy to call and buy in past years? Thanks.

  • Just to clarify.. the $100 off a logbook service is only after buying a set of pirellis?

    • added logbook service but didn't see $100 off so I removed then only booked tyres

  • Appears to be a bit of a bait and switch for me (at least in my part of the Country, 7250 Tas)

Called them to get pricing on:
    225/55/18 (Car 1)
    225/60/18 (Car 1)
    225/45/18 (Car 2)

No stock available on hand and none available to order in any Pirelli Tyre in those sizes. But he did make a suggestion of another brand they had in stock… No thanks.

    YMMV

  • Anyone else getting bugger all from the sale this year?

    • Like in general for BF or from mycar?

  • -1

Every year and the website always crashes …. Don't bother

  • Thanks OP, do you reckon it’ll be 50% off the prices currently shown here OR will they jack it up then reduce by “50%”?

    https://www.mycar.com.au/tyres/pirelli

    • +2

From previous experience it's 50% off what you're already seeing

    • +1

Prices went up by $20 for most Pirelli's from last year. It will be half off the prices shown now.

    • Well considering the tires I'm looking at are already 15-20% more than other shops I'd say it's already jacked.

Only good thing is I like to do two tyres at a time, whereas others such as Bob Jane already is the same price if you buy 4

      • Buying 2 at a time means more trips to the tyre store, and more restrictions on rotations (unless have staggered sizing)
        .

  • How are the Pirelli Scorpion MS 100v?

On the fence if I should jump on this deal and change tyres a bit premature.
    RAV4 hybrid 2wd needing a 225/60/18

    • $718 if there’s stock for a set of 4 vs $$1097 for 4 Michelin Primacy at Costco at the moment

  • +1

The tyre I planned to buy went up from $555 to $665. Dirty dogs.

  • they suddenly just dropped half the pirelli tire choices for my size and out of the 3 which are showing, only 1 is actually able to be ordered…. and its an EV tire for my very petrol guzzling v6 suv…. think i just waited for this sale for nothing

    • Mine still shows available. EV tyres should save you some potrol, they have low rolling resistance I believe

  • Who likes walking little men?

  • This site is choking harder than the Swans in thus years GF

  • Buckle up all!! Here comes the lag train!!

  • Damn, stuck as always.

  • FFS the circle is spinning so long I won't make the 15 minute cutoff before it kicks me out. On top of that, it wont find my car rego and there's no option to proceed without it.

  • Now being redirected ….. Then times out .
At least I'm in W.A. and I didn't have to wait till 1am torealize this is a shit show .

  • Website crashed

  • Error 503: Service unavailable

  • Its crashed queue paused..

  • I only seem to be able to choose afterpay or zip and not any other payment method…

    • Same. Annoying.

Just wait for the website the load the other options. Imagine you were trying to access the site via a 56K modem and had to wait for everything

      • Yeah on the second reload after it crapped itself it eventually loaded. Somehow got my order in.

  • +1

Finally navigated through the laginess. Ordered confirmed for a set of P7C2's

      Howdy neighbour, I was #242
