  • I've got an earlier version of this. Fantastic travel laptop, all day battery.

Ryzen 7 8845HS is pretty much the same in benchmarks but the Intel is slightly ahead in igpu believe it or not.

heh.. interesting, i thought this gen of intel's igpu wasn't as good as the 780M and that Lunar lakes was slightly better but then beaten by 890M and sometimes the 880M.. also the game drivers for intel are still an issue from time to time.

you have a link to the comparison? i'd like to check it out if you do :)

but the Intel is slightly ahead in igpu believe it or not.

The link you showed is comparing their GPU performance by the number of "FLOPS". It's almost like comparing different CPU's according to the clock speed.

Recently I have been looking at hand held windows console performance in games, and the 780m seems to be thrashing the recent intel stuff quite hard. it's not even a competition.

All while consuming less power too

I've been looking into these igpus a lot recently. I can't remember the technical term, however the graphics performance varies quite a lot between laptop models (despite having the exact same specs) due to the power allocated or accessible, but also the ram speed. This MSI in particular recorded quite low scores in comparison to, for example, a thicker machine like the Yoga. So you really need to look at reviews for the specific laptop you're wanting in order to know what fps you'll be getting, because there's no way to tell in the descriptions on retail pages.

780m igpu beats the 155h arc igpu pretty easily in every game… Up to 50+% better in some cases…

      • I also interested with this but then realised AMD igpu still way better than arc, plus I m still not too confident on MSI qualities, hence didnt bother and rather wait for Lenovo's deals instead … Also 13.3" too small for my eyes when using at home.

Most shop only has the display. Most likely are shop soiled. I wouldnt be buying an ex demo that has been trashed by kids.

    • Thanks, this makes me feel better about passing this deal.

    • +1

Exactly about all these so called leftover stock you can find via stock check, I went there before for some other laptops, its just whatever ex-demo on display, some look very filthy & dirty with the keyboards all oily marks on them, unless you want to bring home a public toilet. And for those that show only 1 left, lots of time is not accurate, went there and the guy checked absolutely none at all. Don't bother waste your petrol, just not worth it …

  • Very compelling, I'm in the market for something just like this: light, good display, good igpu, good battery life, around $1k. However I'll have to pass this one cuz being on the bus for 3hrs for something that might not be there is not really worth it.

  • Great little laptop

  • Watching YT reviews, should wait for series 2 with 258V deals instead, it is a lot better performance than series 1.

  • Does this have a touch screen?

    • Nope. Can confirm that it doesn't have a touch screen.

  • Hey all, there's a displayed one up for sale at Office Works Upper Mount Gravatt. The sales rep gave me an extra $100 bucks off. Decided not to get it but it's worth it if you looking for something thin and light that's less then a grand.
