Been watching for a deal on this one model ECAM12122B. Other retailers showing $488 (TGG, JB) so got a price match from JB and they beat it by $5 when asked. Also used CommBank yello $10 cash back which was available for JB.

I've had my ECAM22110SB since 2016, still going strong.
Only thing I have to do every now and again is replace an o-ring so that it doesn't leak water into the bypass when making coffees.
In fact I'm surprised that it's going so well. Had an EAM3500 previously, always cleaned, descaled and looked after. Paid much more, didn't last as long. Replaced thermoblock a couple of times but gave up on it eventually and replaced with the ECAM22110. This one rarely gets any attention, yet keeps on going..
The problem is that during extraction, water leak right into the coffee ground tray and not getting enough pressure and liquid through.
Sounds like yours might of needed an o-ring replacement too.
@bamzero: Any repair instructions and where do you get the parts?
Just isn't really worth sending in for repair.@williamk30: Yeh, it's pretty easy to do. You'll need a torx driver (for the outer screws, inner are just philips, some food safe silicone grease and the o-ring has to be something to handle high temps (I got silicone ones from Aliexpress which last a decent amount of time. The standard cheap black ones will disintegrate in no time.) I used an 8mm x 2mm.
I'm sure there was a video on youtube somewhere, or I may have some photos I took somewhere. I'll post some more info when I get the chance.
These last 2 years we've had some codes leaked that give 30-40% off around these dates. Maybe wait a couple of days and check if they leak again in here and get it for an extra 30% off?
e.g.
- last year: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/813951
- in 2022: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/732465Yeh this has been sitting around $499 for a while, so their claim of 36% off is misleading as usual, more like 10%.
Is it a decent bean to cup machine? Thinking about gifting one.
I haven't tried this exact machine but I'm assuming its basically the same as the ECAM22110 I have. I'd say yes its pretty decent for your everyday coffee needs in this price range. I don't use the frother, mainly just short shots.
The only issue I can think of is that the grinder setting can vary and sometimes isn't adjusted to go fine enough out of the factory. It's not a huge deal to adjust it to be finer but not everyone is wanting to do that. On my particular machine it wasn't an issue but I've read other comments about it.
Mine broke within 2 years.
