      • Wow, that’s a lot of stacking are you talking about deluxe subs? Because it seems like you’re set for many years beyond the ps5 lifespan if there is a ps6. But we know the price of sub is going to go up not down in years to come. Also good score on Helldivers 2 it’s a blast hope you have fun.

        • Yeah mate Deluxe. Haha indeed, Bring on the PS6

  • I just picked up a ps5 can someone explain the different tires pls

  • My son's subscription ends on the 12th of December. Is there any way for me to get this deal to get him another year at a discount?

    • He should be able to, depending on the level of subscription he is on. If you are you the parent you should have parental control and access the ps store through that process.

  • I want to stay on essential but not getting discount. Anyway around this? I tried to cancel but won't work. Can we still get physical psn network cards for discount from any retailers?

    • You need to wait for your subscription to actually expire for the discount to work.

There is/was a cashback deal for PSN Gift cards on CashRewards

Well, my 1 month subscription ends on the 7th of December (bad timing). So if I can't get the 30% off deal, then Playstation just lost themselves $76
Otherwise I would have bought it, without the discount I just wont, no way I'm paying $95 for it. I bet I'm not the only one in this boat, they'll be losing a lot of money by not letting current subscribers stack the discounted subscription.

    • I'm in the same boat as you. My subscription ends 17 December.

      I don't think they care…

Yeah this totally sucks. I got a 1 month sub on extra after just getting a PS5, it has 12 days left. Trying to use the 30% off deal only gives me:

$0.90 due today. Payment applies to the remaining 12 days of your current plan. Next payment: $21.95 every month, starting on 14/12/2024

So just to confirm for others wondering, doesn't look like you can upgrade and get the 30% off 12 month subscription for Deluxe.

I assume I'd have to resub to 12 months for Extra at $169.95 and then upgrade to the deluxe immediately to get another 12 months stacked on at the discounted rate. Can't afford that total for such a small saving.

    • Not a valid neg in my opinion. This is the first year that Sony have provided discounts for active users and are allowing us to all stack multiple years.

      • Sure, but for me to stack multiple years, I would have had to get the deluxe 12 months at full cost, and then stack other years at discount rate. The average would not be nearly as good as if they offered an upgrade from monthly to yearly WITH the discount rate.

Penalizing those who have several days left on a monthly extra tier, so they cannot receive any discount, is worth the neg in my opinion. It's a deal for some but stupidly not for others.

        • From a business model it might be that they are rewarding annual subscribers as it's a continued loyalty type concept
