    what a fn pain.

    Went into the ANZ bank as they had blocked my card. Spoke to the fraud protection team who unblocked my card. Was told that it was okay to proceed with the transaction.

    Tried again with a small amount, which worked. Tried again with a larger amount, and the transaction was blocked again.

    Spent two hours on the phone to ANZ, who informed me that they were no longer blocking my card. They flagged the suspicious transactions with Visa, and told them that they were legitimate purchases, and I was finally able to buy some.

    what a fn joke!!! Wish people would get their act together.

      Yeah they were a pain for me also, had to ask me if someone else was making me buy the gift cards for them before they'd unblock it but after that the transaction worked at least. I guess a lot of older people use ANZ?

    As per nicholascage above : if you have problems completing the transaction :

    —-> try on your mobile, using cellular data (not wifi).

    It worked for me

      This is the same for Ticketek, they see multiple logins from the same IP (ie when using work wifi) and will block it as suspicious , as soon as you go to cellular works fine

    Just be careful this ended up blocking my card at the bank. Once I got the bank to unblock my card the transaction went through fine. Wouldn't be surprised if heaps of cards are getting blocked all over the place because buying large amounts of gift cards looks really dodgy

      I would say it would align with the manufacturer warranty/legislated consumer law protections.

      I've found them to be very easy going. I had a smart watch which died 18 months after I bought it and they replaced it with no fuss at all

    First cards took 5 minutes to arrive. Second transaction 1.5 hr later hasn't arrive yet after nearly an hour. I think that's the Ozbargain effect - the ultimate load-testing method.

    Yes, same as few of the above, I love my bank which is Bankwest to block this dodgy giftcards.com.au website, so called the Bankwest fraud team and they unblocked and I can purchase $1000, but if you purchase again they will block again so each time you repeat purchase they will block and you need to call them to unblock.

    But that how the Bank work and I love it as my CC has this function automatically.

      Or you know, maybe they've been waiting for November for Black Friday and have big purchases planned, and are going to be doing Xmas shopping on Amazon as well. When you've got Prime it usually ends up being the cheapest and quickest way of getting a lot of online purchases, and the gift cards don't expire.

    Just rang giftcards and was told there isn't an immediate confirmation email as there is a queue currently. Should receive all your gift cards in about 5 hours time. I also haven't received any email.

    ANZ rewards card failed but AMEX worked without issues. Took 1 hour for gift cards to turn up via email and redeemed successfully. I also called the support line. and they said if you get a booking number, it means its gone through and that they had insane amount of orders today because of the amazon promo.

    Payment options wouldn't load on Firefox on Mac laptop connected to Wifi. Checked out without any issues on iPhone via Safari on 5G using Up card. It did want to do an identity verification after clicking Purchase (e.g., SMS, email, approve in app, etc) which is probably where some other banks are getting stuck, I've never had an issue with Up's verifications.

    Dont give up - SOLVED

    firstly, wheel of death at payment screen is probably caused by adblock or browser (eg Brave) this is your first hurdle

    If you manage to enter card details and your banks OTP verification only to get "Transaction failed, please contact customer service." well this only happened on PC for me

    What finally worked for me; purchased on a bankwest CC thru chrome on my mobile connected to mobile data (wifi off) - $2500 purchased successfully

    I failed many times today on PC, 3 separate cards/banks, adblock off, chrome incognito etc. At one stage 2 of my cards were locked by the banks fraud teams.
