      It's the free shipping on groceries that does it for me. I live 10km away from the distribution center, I often get a chocolate bar delivered on the same day, if not the next day. Things like that. Saves a trip to Woolies.

      In the past I think it wasn't possible, but it is now. Not sure when that changed or if I'm wrong about it previously not being possible.

      On the Prime membership payment method page there's an option to "Use your Amazon gift card balance".

    Went through on my Bankwest credit card, but card was locked a couple of hours later…lol.

      • It worked for me with time with 2nd purchase using a different device, wife's account & supplementary card, and different shipping address.

    • Did you try all these cards in the same order, or, created separate orders once one payment failed?

    Multiple cards, multiple browsers, multiple emails all failed. Contacted bank said it's not on their end, contacted giftcards CS, said it looks like it's blocked on their side and head office will investigate… Couldn't give me any reason, never purchased through them before

        • You could try using a phone and disable wifi and instead use 4g. Some people say that works.

    No joy with a CBA or Bankwest Mastercard. Bankwest i get as far as receiving a code via SMS, but fails once entering that. Using a CBA card i cannot even get that far.

    • Bankwest fraud team called me. Verified i intended to make this purchase, and once confirmed, asked me to try again and it worked.

    experienced bargainers how does the gift card work?

    Do we need to "activate" it on our own Amazon account?
    Can the gift cards be used among different amazon accounts?

    Reason why asking is because our cousins Annie & Bob have amazon prime membership and we sometimes use their accounts to buy stuff.

    Example
    If I was buying an $80 item with a $100 gift card on cousin Annie's account, is the $20 leftover credit left on Annie's account?

    Can I use the $20 leftover credit on Bob's account?

      No, the left over credit cannot to be transferred to another account.

      You're provided a code which you use to redeem the gift card. This becomes useable credit in your Amazon account.

      So I don't think there would be any way to split the credit between two accounts, you would redeem your $100 card in cousin Annie's account, and she would be left wth $20 credit in her account after the $80 purchase.

          Yes, no reason why that wouldn't work. The terms do say "One order per customer per day" but I've bought 2 today without a problem. I think specifically it means 1 x $2500 per day.

          Yezzir, that's what I did. Split into smaller amounts so it is not locked into a single account unnecessarily.

            • @mgb200: Yeah, you can always add more value after but not allocate or extract it from another account. Just means you'll have to manage your codes somewhere.

      You just add all of your gift cards to your gift card balance and use the balance to pay for the order.

    Called bank, called the merchant, both blamed each other, got fraud team to unblock.
    Finally advised by Westpac: Transactions are being blocked by Mastercard to the merchant. Mastercard has deemed this website high risk for fraud purposes.

    • Yes,Ive tried 3 cards and find out it should a scam,Im too stupid to giving out my personal information because of the upvotes otherwise dont even bother to try.

      • It obviously isn't a scam if its owned by Coles. They just need to sort their shit out. Whatever, Wise worked after 6 tries.

    • Strange that Westpac would say that as I bought a $500 gift card with a Westpac Mastercard without issue, just needed to enter the OTP code that was sent to my phone.

    • I had it fail in Opera, so tried Chrome and still failed on multiple cards. Tried Edge and it worked first time. Was using an NAB CC.

    • Worked for me first attempt using Edge browser. No ad blockers / UBlock Origin, no tracking protection enabled.
