The reason these are on sale is because it seems like a good idea however compared to aliexpress its such a high cost in comparison for what it does.

Not to mention a major pain installing it 8 meters in the air, with no way to conceal the ugly wiring (at least Nanoleaf gives you plastic strips to cover up the wiring), and left with permanent holes in your eaves should you need to replace them in the future. And that's if you have eaves, I have a section of the lower roof where there are no eaves, so there is no way to install it there.

FWIW, I didn't want to do all the research and wait for the China delivery. I thought these might be a quick way home and I'm pleased with them.

I didn't use the screws for ours and should be able to remove the double sided tape later.

We have a section where there is no eaves but I bought a piece of this and cut it into sections using tin snips and used double sided tape to build small overhanging mounts.

Might look into the LEDs from Aliexpress for next year.

  • I bought these recently for halloween and imo these are best outdoor lights ever. These are bright and wall-washing effect is really awesome. The app works very well too.

  • Do you need an electrician to install?

    • Nope. These are plug and play.

  • Good deal, was also checking these out and best I could see was $299 at JB Hifi commercial. Only downside is apparently they can’t be linked. I have 45 metres to cover and would prefer to have it all synced but purchased 30m to try it out.

    Thanks Op!

Going off their website you can connect up to 45mtrs.

      I purchased a 30m and 15m kit I can update after I install.
