    There are some generic brand of Bosch battery on ebay etc.
    Or if you have a battery of other brands, you may get an adapter / converter instead.

        Not really. The battery is just 2.5a, you would need a little more juice to a decent garden space. Look out for the battery and charger deals that should come for Black Friday sales.

        I ended up getting the package. I urgently need a trimmer and the 10% Amazon gift card deal cemented my decision.

        I'll buy a 3rd party battery should the 2.5aH battery fall short. Are the Bosch batteries universal or are there model differences to be aware of?

          @ddhar: As far as I know, there are 2 types of 18v: Bosch Green and Bosch Blue. This one use the Green model.
