Honestly… That's my preferred resolution.. Especially since well, it's a secondary monitor to my ultrawide and i dont want to turn on scaling just for one monitor.

ah, i have a 27' 4k and find it blurry sometimes.

Not everybody needs the absolute best of everything, 27" 1440p 180hz is perfectly adequate for gaming.

  • Thanks op, just purchased with my gift card.

Officeworks gift card. Bought it from @tomhill. Just picked up the box from the Officeworks.

    • How is the monitor? Do you have the same issue like others?

    Vs HP omen 27 1440p?

        • +3

The lenovo definitely is better on paper. 180HZ vs 165hz. 0.5ms rr vs 1ms. 450 nits vs 400 nits. Full ergo stand vs just lift. Biggest one is hdmi 2.1 vs hdmi 2.0 (need 2.q for console gaming). Plus 100 bucks cheaper

  • Anyone know if this can downscale 4k and would be VRR capable at 1440p 120Hz on PS5 and Xbox Series X? Couldn't find reviews or much info but I'm assuming yes if it's HDMI 2.1.

    • +1

Hey mate, I come bearing good news.

Bought this monitor for the exact same reason and to my pleasant surprise, yes it can downscale 4k on my PS5. So it can do 4k@60Hz or 1440p@120Hz (if supported in your game).

      Not VRR capable though.

      • Thanks mate, was hoping for VRR as well.

        • Just out of curiosity, which games does VRR help well with?

          • +1

@Mish277: All but mainly useful for fast paced twitch type games (e.g. shooters) as it helps eliminate frame skips and any tearing.

Do not buy this. if colour and viewing angles are important to you. I just bought it to replace my excellent Dell 2k 75HZ ips panel from a few years ago, and the viewing angles are atroious. Literally moving your head a few CM changes the colours. Actual downgrade, apart from the refresh rate. I didn't know how good i had it!

    • same model ips panel?

      • Dell S2721D. It has almost infinte viewing angle, with really deep blacks and popping colours, it's insane. This one feels like it's about 5 degrees either way, and is just so dull and subdued.

        • +2

I just collected mine for my console, not really seeing any issues that you mentioned. reckon yours is faulty? colour is actually alright

        • Hi, did you end up returning or keeping yours? Compared to my ~2022 Acer kg272u 75hz IPS the viewing angles are crap. Like you, I move my head by about 5cm and the colours at the edges of the panel change.

          • @MPtrxx: Mate I'm in two minds. I CBF to return it, I was thinking of just giving it to my friend. I play games a decent amount and the high refresh rate is genuinely cool. It's just everything else (the desktop experience- web browsing, discord etc) is pretty mid tier, even leaning towards 2/5. Like I fiddled with all the colour settings for half an hour, but I realised it's just poor quality.

If you are strictly a gamer it's a great deal. But if you do other things on your computer, you may be disappointed.

Take 2 of the comparison of mine with some personal details blocked out. On the left is the legion and it's extreme angles but it really shows the colours wash out. Even sat here now with a white background the edges of the screen are grey.

I'm using this 99% for gaming so I think I'll keep it. Unless others don't get the same thing, then I'll take it back to try and swap it.

              • @MPtrxx: Yeah that is pretty pronounced mate, exactly my experience. The refresh rate has been awesome for gaming, but I love to move around on my chair a lot, even kick my feet up on my desk. It's disconcerting when my monitor literally shifts and changes colour when I do that haha

        • Buying one to test out the theory if all goes to shit ill just return it if all goes well ill grab another 2
for my "WFH office ofc" ahahaha

~debating between this one or the msi 2725f model for 259

    • So 2 people saying this is no good?

Hmm was going to order one today

      • If you are interested, I can get both my old monitor and this one in a youtube video for you to have a squizz, LMK. I am confident I can show the colour and viewing angle differences.

        • Sounds great 😊

@NexERO: Here they are side by side:

It's hard to capture what i was talking about, i tried taking a recording but it didn't quite work. The Dell has such deep blacks, like a proper phone AMOLED where the pixels are "off". The Lenovo has old LCD style blacks. Looking at them side by side, the lenovo colours somehow look like they have more dynamic range than the dell. This could be because I amped up every saturation setting possible. It may be the case that the lenovo has better dynamic range, i am not sure. What is indisputible however, and hard to convey, is its viewing angles are really bad.

Mine just came today. Bought it for my partner. It's a huge upgrade from the Samsung 22 inch LED monitor she had before.

It's quite a significant downgrade compared to my Dell S2721DGF. It looks very much like a budget monitor. I echo your complaints about the colour and viewing angles.
Unless you're sitting dead on, the colours appear a bit faded off axis. It's still very readable, but I'd say it's about 80% of the colour and clarity when off-axis.

It also looks a little bit dimmer than my Dell, despite the rated 450 nits on Lenovo's website, I'd say it's about 350 nits compared to the Dell's 400 nits. I haven't tested HDR yet. Also for potential buyers, the stand is HUGE. It's almost as wide as the monitor itself, but is very deep, it takes up about 30cm of the depth of the desk. So if you have a small desk with not much depth, consider getting a vesa mount.

It doesn't get very tall either, at maximum height, it looks about the typical/average height of a monitor. I haven't tried swivelling it to vertical yet, but it looks like it would skim the table if I did while rotating it.

Overall, it is very well worth the money, I got it for about half the price of my Dell monitor and I feel this would work well for 95% of people.

  • Saw this monitor in-store at my local Officeworks and was seriously considering getting one. Unfortunately, it didn't have an input to display, so couldn't really see the quality and the viewing angles issue @naturaldecay has mentioned. But what I really didn't like was the stand. Looks like it would take up a lot of desk space and I'm not really keen on the design of it. Spec wise, the monitor seems great for price.

There's 20% Cashback from Lenovo's website with ShopBack. Price is $249 so brings it down to 199.20

Cant decide between this or the Phillips one

    • Where do you see 20%? Highest I see is 14% with cashrewards.

      • It was yesterday. Probs should have bought it since CR only has 14%

        • Ah I see. I guess you could hold for now if you don't need it. The price will usually only go down, or a better deal will come.
I ended up pulling the trigger and getting it for $208 since it's such a good deal already.

It's crazy how cheap >144Hz, 1440p monitors are nowadays.

Coming from a Dell S2721DGF owner for $400 last year, and then a VA 1440p @144Hz curved gaming monitor for $680 before that in 2020.

        • It just went lower in price. There's a coupon code that drops it further down to around $230, combined with 14% cashreward and its sub $200. Check out the other thread on it.

  • Originally got this - great specs on paper tho it's got horrible horizontal viewing angles (distracting dark shadow & colour distortion both on the left & right sides, especially when viewing at an angle).

    Returned it since.

Got Omen 27q instead - vox Populi, vox Dei!
