We have three new releases (descriptions have been written by Chiara, I'm not great at adding such flair!):

  • Signature Milk Tea: Inspired by the iconic taste of classic milk tea, this flavour combines a velvety, creamy base with subtle tea notes from Amino Z's signature blend of premium Assam and black teas.
  • Earl Grey Milk Tea: Developed with a blend of meticulously selected bergamot and a signature combination of rich black teas, this flavour brings creamy, milky notes for a smooth, satisfyingly elegant taste that’s true to the classic Earl Grey.
  • Caramelised Dutch Cookie: Inspired by classic Speculaas cookies, this flavour combines warm, spiced caramel with a creamy, sweet base. It delivers a rich, indulgent taste of caramelised cookies with subtle hints of cinnamon, gingerbread and other spices.

All flavours are naturally sweetened. We have transitioned over to thaumatin for the fact that it is an all natural plant based sweetener, a superior flavour profile, a neutral insulin impact (as it is a protein) and being very gentle on the gut. A bit of trivia, thaumatin is about 10x the cost of artificial counterparts (eg. sucralose) and more than 5x the cost of stevia based on weight! Our focus remains on product quality.

Five of the thirty flavours will attract a higher price point due to additional cost to manufacture and also higher ingredient costs associated with these flavours. They include the three cookie flavours (+$2.48 per 1kg bag for Caramelised Dutch Cookie, Cookies & Cream, Mint Cookie Crunch) and the two new tea flavours (+$4.14 per 1kg bag for Signature Milk Tea, Earl Grey Milk Tea). All other flavours are at the standard price.

To help guide, here are the category descriptions from the table above:

Category Description
STRAIGHT Unflavoured and optimised for macronutrients (90% protein). Due to omitting flavours and any sweetener, this is just straight WPI from the manufacturer (less than 1% sunflower lecithin added at the point of manufacture). Use in cookies, smoothies etc. Or if you just want the best macros and don't care for taste!
CORE These flavours have between 75-87% protein. They will also be low in fat (0.3-0.8g/serve) and also low in carbs (1-3.7g/serve). As a general guide, suitable if you have strict dietary restrictions and want to keep the carbs/fat down, but want something more exciting than unflavoured.
INDULGE These flavours will have 64-76% protein with a higher serving size. Notably, carbs and/or fat will be higher than most flavours in the core range, generally contributing an additional 20-30 calories per serve. These flavours will also contain extra ingredients that enhance the flavour profile. This extra latitude with macros and ingredients allows us to elevate the flavour to be what we consider amazing, while not being a complete cheat meal. Given the popularity of Aussie Choc Malt, we're experimenting with a few others in this category and have recently released our three new cookie flavours and our two new milk tea flavours.

Why 3kg this time? (Info on WPI Prices and Supply Constraints)

Previously we have done deals for 4-5kg, but given the current supply and pricing situation, we could just not make it feasible this time around. Given that we absolutely wanted to proceed with a Black Friday OzBargain deal, we felt that the best way we could proceed was to reduce the quantity. I'll provide some background.

Many retailers had a price increase this year due to the increased price of whey protein (particularly WPI). Unfortunately prices have continued to increase and supply is extremely limited globally. Currently WPI is practically not available for supply.

After speaking directly with almost 8 international manufacturers of WPI, it seems very unlikely that supply will improve in the next 3-6 months. For this reason (and as I mentioned in my video), we have had to restrict this deal to 3kg to avoid running out of stock. We also want to ensure that we have adequate supply to run this deal without having to end it far too prematurely.

To be completely transparent with everyone, it is extremely likely that we may not be able to run another whey deal in early 2025. While we do typically do a deal every 3-4 months, given the very challenging supply situation, it is quite possible that this may be the last WPI deal for a while.

Commonly Asked - Amino Z WPI / ON 100% Whey / Musashi 100% Whey (The 3 most popular proteins here on OzBargain)

In almost all of our prior WPI deals, I have been asked how our WPI compares to two other very popular products on OzBargain that we sell (Optimum Nutrition 100% Gold Standard Whey and Musashi 100% Whey).

One thing I want to emphasise is that we have sold all three products and despite us obviously having a vested interest in our own brand, we firmly stand behind the quality of all three products (hence why we used to stock all of them).

    Ordered for the first time just to try a different type of protein blend. I was previously using optimum nutrition for years.
    I ordered Pandan and coconut, was shocked by how it tastes. It was quite strong and full flavoured, so I have to add a touch more water (yes, I use water.. I’m one of those people haha) and it tasted excellent! Could drink it all day!

    Although I did accidentally select Aussie Choc Malt instead of cookies and cream… no idea how that happened and I don’t even like chocolate so I’m going to have a hard time downing that.. haha

    Still yet to try the pre work out, my goto is Total War, so hopefully it has the same kick!

        @SeiraS, generally most people will use either milk or water. Water will be best after exercise (assists with faster absorption), but for general usage milk will taste better given you don't have restrictions around using milk.

        Other common options would be almond milk, oat milk etc.

    I wanted to share my recent experience with Couriers Please, especially with Black Friday approaching. I placed my order on Tuesday, November 19, when the deal was announced, and now, nine days later, I’m still waiting for it to arrive without any updates on the delivery date.

    Couriers Please claimed they attempted delivery, but I was home at the time and did not receive a card indicating they had come by. I've requested redelivery twice and tried their chat feature multiple times, yet I have received no response. To make matters worse, they have removed their phone number from their website, leaving no way to contact them directly.

    Concerned about the situation, I reached out to Aminoz support, who have kindly followed up on my behalf. I have also requested that Aminoz avoid using Couriers Please for future shipments.

    However, my main worry is that my products have been sitting in a hot delivery van or warehouse for an extended time, which could degrade their quality. The storage instructions specify keeping them in a cool, dry place under 30 degrees Celsius, and given the recent hot weather, I’m not optimistic.

    It's also frustrating to note that the delivery location is only 19 km from the Aminoz factory and am a Club Z member, which supposedly qualifies me for priority shipping.

      Given that you are just 19km away, such a lengthy delay certainly doesn't seem right. Further, I completely understand your concerns about the product being heat affected. Despite it likely being stuck in a warehouse somewhere, I certainly cannot 100% rule out this as a possibility.

      So I will raise this with Vanessa immediately so she can take action on your order. Such a lengthy delay is completely unacceptable, even during sale periods.

      Also, we can certainly change your account over to have all shipments sent through Australia Post.

      In the meantime, if you go to the "1kg" size option, select the Pandan and Coconut (New & Improved) option from here. Then just add in 2 other 1kg units to qualify for this deal. So in effect, you're adding in 3x 1kg size options which will work with this coupon code.

        No problem. The link between WPI and hairloss vs WPC. I rarely believe in 1 source reports around it, but after I changed from WPI to WPC a few years ago, I had a solid change in hair loss (other factors also contributed) but this was part of it. So I take a bit of a hit on the protein % and use that. I don't think its really worth introducing if you don't see it making sales, but that's the reasoning. Im going to buy your creatine though, as I want to support you guys

      @BDKM our whey protein isolate as a raw material is imported by us from USA. The raw material is produced in USA. We do not import any milk products from China.

      We import the product and source all the ingredients both locally and internationally. Then we will blend and package the product in our facility.

      I am unfamiliar with any instantised whey protein isolate produced in Australia. As far as I am aware, there is one company that does produce a very small amount, but it is not instantised. We did test this product but deemed it unsuitable for our product requirements.

      We do test our products. The testing we underake is for heavy metals and macronutrient composition which can be found on the product page under "Lab Tests".

      I can provide some broad assistance, but please bear in mind this is general in nature. You're always welcome to give us a call and one of our team will be more than happy to assist you further (and probably a bit more specifically than what I can do here online).

      Protein powder can be used for a broad range of scenarios. The most common would be:

      • To compliment an exercise regime (eg. Fast-absorbing protein after a workout to help recover, or additional protein throughout the day)
      • To provide a lower-calorie/healthier alternative to "less healthy" foods (eg. Have a protein shake instead of a milk shake, use the protein to flavour/sweeten an ice cream instead of having full-fat/full-sugar ice cream)
      • To boost your daily protein intake, if you're unable to obtain sufficient protein through food alone

      That isn't exhaustive, but they would be the more common use cases we do see.

      It will come down to what you're trying to achieve. For example, if you're trying to build muscle, having WPI after a workout would generally be considered an important supplement to consume. If you're trying to lose weight, using a protein powder as a lower-calorie option could be effective to reduce your calorie consumption.

    Honestly you guys are ridiculous.

    I don't even like cookies and cream, but your video of cookies and cream production was so convincing I got it.

    Now I can't stop nibbling on those little cookie bits as I drink the shake, which also tastes amazing.

    If there was a money back guarantee for how good something is that causes your customers to drink more than they probably should, you guys would go broke. Also, your earl grey and signature milk tea are incredible, like stupidly good. This stuff is amazing - thank you!

    What is the expiry date like? I have enough protein powder at the moment to last me about 1.5 years so I am wondering when the unflavoured will expire… if its after 2 years then that would be okay but if it expires within 2 years I probably will have to pass. Is there an option to delay delivery for like 6-12 months?

      @wise-eyes, the best before dates will be 18-24 months away across the entire range of WPI. It's all relatively fresh stock that we prepared for this promotion.

      For this deal, given the current supply situation, I'm afraid we cannot delay delivery by 6-12 months. We'll likely run another deal down the line anyway (eventually).

      Yes that's correct. So for example, if you are a repeat customer and receive the $40 credit back, you'll get 4000 Z Points.

        No worries, always happy to support local. I did have a question about creatine - I bought the 1kg pack, would it be okay to store it in the supplied pack or should I transfer it to an air-tight container? Thanks.

          Hi @deathjr, thanks for asking. The 1kg creatine should be fine to store in the pack supplied until best before date, just so long as it's sealed properly.

    Thanks. Ordered a bunch of the vegan protein because milk/lactose does not agree with me. Do I have any other options besides the vegan stuff?
