This is a high quality tool. I bought this exact one in 1996 and after 29 years, it still cuts things very well. I bought mine from a mum and dad corner hardware store for $1.80 which was a lot of money back then. It's still amazing that after so many decades it is still made in USA. Everyone should buy this and when you get old, you can hand it to your children or if you never married and planning to die alone, you can give it to your nephews and nieces. It will last over 100 years.

Was it? Wasn’t a small cheeseburger meal $2 at McDonald’s around that time?

Back then in the dark days, on our Nokia phones, we didn't have the Macdonalds App for coupons, we had to grab coupons from the mailbox. There was 50 cent cheeseburgers with coupons.

        • 50c cheeseburger Tuesdays. Maximum of 5, dinner sorted.

Bought three to use my $10 off $20 spend promotional code for downloading a free book from Amazon. Thanks for the post.

Indeed a quality tool, I bought one a few years ago and it's been my go-to for cleaning up 3d prints. Has a few dents from where I stupidly used it to cut 0.6mm stainless tie wire.

Overall I prefer the smoother action on the knipex super knips, and the wire catcher that comes with some knipex models. This has always cut extremely precisely though

    • The same happened to my knipex cutters i was soldering some through-hole components and I snipped a leg that was soldered and it was a tad too thick and dented the cutting surface, i used a mini file to make it good again but it is kind of disappointing. User error probably but I have had Aliexpress side cutters do better, as for these Klein tools no issues yet.

      • Always a balancing act with these type of snips between being hard enough to cut without denting bit not too brittle to snap.

I shattered the tip of my cheap ones that came with my 3d printer, trying to nip off a bit of plastic from a print.

  • Coming up as $36 for me.

Already have a pair but wouldn't mind a spare for $8

  • Its showing up as $36 for me as well :(

  • Bought these from total tools a while back to use as flush cut zip tie cutters - good quality
