Depending on the house, there could be better solutions available. If you can run cabling, it might be better to get a propery system that doesn't need batteries charged all the time and all records back to a NVR.
Easy to set up, decent reliability, but Ring is outdated in terms of resolution of the cameras, this would've been a good option maybe 5 years ago, for new house new set up, look elsewhere.
Is this targeted? I don’t see the promotion.
You have to add it to cart and at check out it'll reduce the price.
Just tried - didn't work for me either….
Yeah. Didn't work for me either.
Seems targeted. Shame because I wanted to buy it.
Are you a prime member?
Just the battery costs that much! Wow, what does the camera cost?
Oh, wait, its not a cam(era) battery, its a battery cam(era). In English the adjective goes before the noun, so you know which is which.
The name got me confused too. The deal title says battery but the description says camera.
I think 'Battery' is the model name based on the range of Ring cameras available, but their naming convention is still confusing as hell… Of their outdoor range, there's the following models:
- Ring Stick Up Cam Battery
- Ring Spotlight Cam Pro Solar
- Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro
- Ring Spotlight Cam Plus Battery
- Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus
- Ring Outdoor Camera Elite
I don't even… and that's just their outdoor range!
How does it compare to Tapo?
Features are roughly the same but Ring needs subscription to store whereas Tapo cameras typically let you use sd card to save locally.
Thanks, yeah I want to avoid subscription. I get the C210.
I have the offer in my account too
thanks got the double pack with with solar panel to cover the blind spots.
My 2 use cases.
Hoping to have this set up on the boat so that it can send me notifications and record if there's motion. No power source, but there is unreliable WiFi available.
Set this up on a remote building wall to watch the motorbike parked for the day. No power source (maybe solar is doable) and no wifi. Can't expect notifications, but will capture footage of some (profanity) touches the bike.
Are these my best choice? How long would the battery last and what battery does it use or is it rechargeable by USB C?
Im thinking about getting 4 of these for our new house. Anyone have feedback or recommendations on better systems similar in price?
