Note: the '2024' model is just the SE 2nd Gen (2022) with new bands options.

    • +2

Very misleading. OP should change title.

  • +5

Whilst a great price the SE is 2022 model. No SE models were released this year

  • +2

well which one is it? is it 2024? from 2020 or 2022? :p

    • +3

2020 was a typo by me. Should have been 2022.

I bought this morning for $307… just placed another C&C with $297 will return previous one

    Also GPS/Cel version is $377

  • Pity it's not 44mm. Are the SE's any good?

    • +1

I have the 44mm and I love it, discovered I simply don't have a pressing need for the finer points of the other models considering their cost.

      • Nice, was thinking of getting another one, but I wasn't really happy with the Apple Watch 3, battery lasted like 1 day and I didn't really use all the apps on it either.

        • Battery on these isn't great either.

          • @Azro: This is true. You'll need to charge this daily. If battery life is important Apple isn't for you. I've learned this the hard way coming over from android and a galaxy watch.

            • @philotex: Ive heard Galaxy watches aren't much better in the battery scheme of things?

              • @BatmanAU: I had the 5 pro which was decent comparatively. It was no Garmin in terms of battery life but didn't need a daily charge.

            • @philotex: Ultra will last a few days.

    • The SEs are really terrific if you're after a notification type device and don't need all the extra sensors on the regular watch.

I have seen a few times that the 40mm has some issues with battery life, but not sure how widespread it is. Certainly when I moved from the 40 to the 44 the battery life improved significantly.

  • pity not cellular

    • +2
      • probably cheaper getting JB to match and pay with the discount gc right?

      • Does the cellular version accept any esim from any provider? Thinking to use amaysim $12 a year

Edit: found my answer elsewhere. Looks like only the big 3. I wonder why their plans are so big, with data 360gb per month, what could people use it for…

        • It's stupid really. They don't restrict it in in the US, Apple Watch can take an independent eSIM without being tethered to the phone

    • -1

      pity you did not check.

  • Hmmm to buy now or wait for black friday sales…

    • I dont think this will get any cheaper for Black Friday. But it might be worth waiting a few more months for a newer SE model. Hopefully comes with more features.

    • +4

This is a black friday sale

  • Thanks OP. Christmas present for my son, sorted.

  • No always on display is a bit of a bummer

  • +1

cheaper than buying an iphone for high school

    • +1

Yeah a bicycle is cheaper than buying a car too
