  • i'm guessing the Vitality brush-heads are incompatible with this?

edit: got one from eBay after finding out the Precision clean heads (which Vitality Plus is OK with) is compatible with this Smart 1

    • +1

Its the same heads. Its the new iO series that got a different one.

The main upside for this one is lithium battery and pressure indicator, and one with these features (2500x) goes for about 60 when on sale.

    • In stock. Ordered

  • do the heads for these go on sale much?

    • -5

You can buy generics in bulk packs on ebay and the like, they are cheap and plentiful.

      • +2

they are cheap and horrible. i do not recommend. the bristles can probably remove rust off metal.

        • Hi large protuberance - in your opinion which ones are most best at doing that rust removal please?
Have a use for an old one of these toothbrushes as a cleaning implement and would like to make it more effective.
          thanks

I've got this. Just use the generic heads in eBay and it fits well.

  • Did a click and collect :)

Do oralb sell black brush heads at same price as white?

  • Can never trust shavershop RRP

I have a similar model, the black rubber is coming away from the handle after about 3 years use.

  • Woo finally got one from the ebay store just then - seems to be 10 added every 20 mins or so

  • Cheers OP!

  • Ordered 2 as gifts. Cheers!

  • Got one, battery life on my 6yo toothbrush is pretty much gone

  • +4

This is a very good toothbrush. I am using this after upgrading from my old one which I have been using for 10 years now. Takes the standard Oral B brush heads, and has the lithium ion battery that gives 2 week run time. I really like the travel case that comes with it, even when stored in the case, there is enough ventilation for the brush head and toothbrush to dry well.

  • Thanks OP ordered two and free shipping

  • Thanks, just got one from ebay

  • Great toothbrush, IMO all of the pro / vitality do a equally good job with the mechanism of brushing,

    BUT

I would recommend getting a model which has the pressure sensor in the head.

I recently upgraded to the io7, and while I think the new brushing / head mechanism is better, this one should be fine for most people.

  • Thinking to buy between this and Oral-B 700 Pro available at Amazon for $44. Are these the same? At least they look the same.

    • +1

No that one is far worse.
      No pressure sensor no Bluetooth

      • Thank you will get this one now.

  • Got one on eBay just now

    • Showing out of stock on Ebay for me when I checked and now placed on shaver shop website :(

  • Thanks, bought one. Was long overdue.

  • Tx man, perfect timing. Had to replace my 7y old so she can just get mine with a new head and I'll upgrade hahaha

Bluetooth in a toothbrush? Hmmm… I'm unconvinced that I want my teeth to be blue after using this. ;)

  • Plenty of stock at Chaddy. The Ground level store has a tower of them on display by the entrance. Click and collect is from the Lower Ground store.

  • Is it better than pro 2 2000? Don't care about bluetooth.

  • Just in time to replace (nimh) $59 delivered Oral-B Pro 3000
After 6.5yr of daily use, was barely up to speed, even when left on charger.
Had a $7.50 Vitality for travel

  • Does anyone know what battery this has?

  • Which one is better in terms of battery? When I got for 3 weeks holiday I don’t want to take the charger.

    • Charger is 120g (~small tube of toothpaste) & small (fits in palm).
Having it go unexpectedly flat - it's then not that easy cleaning teeth.

As I do on overseas trips…
      Could take a manual toothbrush.
      Got plenty free from promotions.
Smaller, lighter, & doesn't matter if lost.
Pick up ~30g tubes of toothpaste free from dentists. (Meets carry on fluid restrictions on international flights.)

    • Or if its flat just use it as a manual one lol

  • is this or the Oral-B Pro 2000 better?

    • They're all mostly the same. Just get the ones with Lithium battery.

I have the $200 Pro 9000 whatever bs, and its no better than this one im sure, just more modes which I never use, oh and bluetooth.. for whatever reason

  • Thanks OP!

  • Thanks OP. Bought myself one!

Have this, not bad. Wish it had USB c charging though for travel

    • There are 3rd party USB-C powered
      chargers
      available.

But the base needs to be the same size as mains one, so no real size saving. 60g instead of 120g.

Since the charging is normally done via a mains voltage coil in the base, powering a coil in the handle… Might not work well or quickly fail.

Directly inserting USB-C into connector in handle…
It can be made waterproof, but…
"Charging a device with wet USB-C connector can cause the connector's pins to corrode, which can lead to permanent damage or connectivity issues."
A bit unreliable for use in wet environment.

Oral B mains chargers are simple, cost effective & generally reliable over time.
Guess that's why they've stuck with them.

  • Finally got one, thanks!

  • i use the ol' manual toothbrush and looking to change over, is any oral-b brushhead compatible with this or is it only a specific type?

  • Ebay store is currently OOS

  • How is everyone getting $5 off?

  • More stockkkk
