i think the vitality has a nicad (well at least mine did), everything above that has a nimh and oral-b have just released new versions with li-on (which is why there have been clearance deals on the existing range). this one should have nimh

between charges? probably. lifetime? don't know. the charger on my old one died before the battery, so it pays to keep your old chargers
from 500 up there is a charge indicator and faster oscillations
from 1000 up there is a pressure warning indicator
above that it's all marketing gimmicks i think. they all claim "removes up to 100% more plaque than a regular toothbrush", from bottom of the range to top

Bought and received the Pro 2 2000 after the battery on my 4 year old 5000 starts dieing. Give me Li-ion anytime.
Does this differ much from the cheap model you get at coles / woolworths?
I'm onto my 2nd or 3rd basic model but eventually the battery dies. I'd buy this if it has a better battery. Thanks!
