As part of AliExpress 11.11 sales, the following NVR and camera packages can be had for ATL pricing, if you tick all the boxes. “All the boxes”includes taking advantage of their price drop for singles day, an automatic seller discount, using an AliExpress code, a Reolink Direct code and a coins balance which you may or may not have. It does not include up to $60 more which you may receive from your cashback provider of choice if it is deemed eligible - so the final price may be even cheaper. Given the amount of coupons and discounts already being applied to a sale price item, it’s entirely possible that the transaction will be deemed ineligible, so treat it like a bonus, if you get it.

As briefly as possible, Reolink are a perennial OzBargain favourite due to their solid build quality, bang for buck and zero subscription fees. You can buy direct, from eBay or Amazon, or for a considerable discount from AliExpress. And because they are shipped from NSW, no additional GST is payable on the quoted AliExpress price, albeit they are priced in US dollars by default, so pay in $US with you currency conversion fee free credit card for best rates.

They’ve got a heap of cams, NVRs and combos on sale, but for the purposes of this post on concentrating on one-stop shop NVR and 4 cam packages. And because it’s OzBargain, I’m focusing on the value segment of the market. These are midrange 8MP and 5MP cams which are a couple years old - so are no competition for the latest 12MP and 16MP advanced commercial cams, but are accessible via the NVR or phone app by default and include microSD card slots in addition to the NVR storage. They are reliable, well built with mature firmware including AI functionality with Car/Person/Pet detection and hit that resolution vs file size sweet spot to ensure you have sufficient detail to identify intruders without exhausting the modest but upgradeable 2TB drive too quickly.

2TB RLK 8CH NVR + 4 x 820A 8MP Turret cameras = US$380.96 - Expired (Doesn't ship to Australia)
Minus $10 seller discount, minus $20 store coupon REOLINK1695 minus $60 AliExpress coupon minus 4191 coins = US$249.05 = AU$378.21

2TB RLK 8CH NVR + 4 x 520D4 5MP Turret cams = $US270.00 - Expired (Doesn't ship to Australia)
Minus $10 seller discount, minus $10 store coupon REOLINK1694 minus $40 AliExpress coupon minus 2970 coins = US$180.30 = AU$274.10

Note, in the 8MP range, there are three other choices in turret and bullet designs. It’s generally a matter of personal preference, but turrets generally work better when mounted under soffits, whereas bullets generally work better mounted off walls. The two slightly cheaper options are crippled to ensure they only work with the included NVR, so pay the extra $15 bucks to get the 810A (bullet) or 820A (turret) over the neutered B800 or D800 options.

Granted, you’ll pay a little more if you use the above links and do not have the necessary coins to max out the discount. You can’t link to the coins page in AliExpress app, so ensure you navigate to coins to get the $11 discount rather than the max 5% it caps out at on their main linked page.

Hopefully you’ll qualify for the extra cashback too. If I do, a 4 x 8mp cam + 2TB NVR will have cost me just $328. It’s my intent to use the great reddit support group below to use it as the basis for two seperate systems - one for the folks using the NVR plus 2 of the cams, and one for myself using a SFF minipc running free NVR software Frigate using the other 2 cams. I’ve already got some Duos and Trackmix’s that I’ll use for the different setups thanks to previous OzBargain deals, but there’s some great prices available for other cameras for anyone else looking to max out their other 4 vacant channels. Check out The Hook Up’s channel on YouTube for some great comparisons of their entire camera lineup.

Apologies for the long blurb - I’ve done my best to condense some of the most valuable info of garnered over the past six months since picking up my first Reolink Argus Solar cams after previous deals. Welcome to the wonderful world of CCTV and NVRs…

Original Coupon Deal

Voucher update

For store voucher, use REOLINK1697 for US$20 off US$269+

For AliExpress voucher, use AU1165 for US$40 off US$269+ or use OZAF90 for US$60 off US$359+.

Assuming you’ve got max coins, the 8MP bundle remains at AU$368 and the 5MP drops by a further $15 to AU$263.

And best of all, plenty of folk have had (initial) cashback success with the upsized rebates tracking and scheduled to deliver further rebates of around $50. Even though I’m almost out of coins, think I’ll buy another system at these amazing prices…

  • I keep getting "This coupon code is for single use only and can't be used here" on the AU* codes. Brings the cost for the 820A to $580.74. Still not a bad price, but under $400 would've been awesome.

  • Hi all
This is a noob question but it says on Aliexpress "EU Plug" , this wouldn't be compatible to plug the NVR into our Australian outlet would it?

Great write-up! Arrived in 2 days to regional NSW

  • looks like the deal is all sold out/coupons no longer working? is there a similar deal for black friday? i cant seem to find good coupons for other ads

    Doesn't ship to Australia

    • +2

It was shipped from the Australian warehouse but you missed the boat.

You’re two weeks late and a dollar short…

      LOL!

      • -3

        Mark as expired.

        • -1

Super suggestion that may indeed help anyone who returns weeks after the event and is confused or incapable of marking the deal as expired themself.

Sorry you missed out on the deal. Out of interest, if you were genuinely interested in purchasing, why didn't you do so when you were commenting on it back on the 12th of November, rather than negging the deal a fortnight later once local stock expired?

  • Hi

So for this 8mp deal what hdd drive everyone using for the nvr? Is it limited to 8tb?

Has anyone upgraded nvr also to this to get 48tb capacity

    https://m.reolink.com/au/product/rln36/?attribute_pa_version…

    Thinking of getting this

    https://www.devicedeal.com.au/wd-purple-wd82purx-8tb-surveil…

Or is there a better drive? This is surveillance type hdd

    • Yes, I ordered one of the RLN36’s and received it yesterday, chiefly to take advantage of the 3 x HD’s and up to 48tb official storage capacity. It will be a few weeks until I get it commissioned and can compare functionality with the RLN8 of this deal. If you’re interested in the bigger NVR, search RLN36 on AliExpress, where it is listed for $144.40 US, before $20 off for AUBF30, $10 off for REOLINK1712 and up to $15.88 or 11% off for coins. Lands at $98.52 US or AU$151.98. As you likely already know, the 4 ports on the RLN36 are not POE-enabled, so you need to purchase or repurpose an existing POE switch.

      For the harddrive, the 8TB WD Purple is the pick of the litter for officially supported drives. However, if you’re willing to push the boat out on larger, unsupported drives, many people in the reddit forums have had success with EXOS X16 drives. I’ve ordered a 16tb unit as seen at;

      https://east-digital.myshopify.com/products/seagate-exos-16t…

If it doesn’t work in the RLN8 with it’s official 8tb limit, I can always use it in the RLN36 which has official support for up to 16tb per drive. Unfortunately, there’s not a lot of certainty regarding compatibility, presumably on account of the various hardware and firmware revisions for each model. Fortunately, the current shipped drives seem to have the best record for drive compatibility, so fingers crossed.

Anyone installed the " alarm in/out sensor" ?

  • +2

Looks like some similar codes are back

    US$50 off with AUGS75
    US$20 off with REOLINK1715
    plus coins and cash backs

    • what % are you seeing for coins, im only seeing 4% at the moment

      • Yep, current points discount has been reduced to 4%.

With the increased list price and the reduced voucher discounts means most packs are a fair bit more expensive now, albeit still considerably cheaper than via Amazon, EBay or Reolink direct.
