    Here we go again!

  • Says ends tonight but will probably be extended, TC might increase theirs again so wait if you can.

  • Dumb question, I'm already on boost prepaid. If I buy this, can I switch over to this plan using this new SIM?

  • +1

What happens if you need a data top-up during the year, is it just like the plan has expired essentially?

    • There's expensive data packs available

  • Gotta check my ETC that ends in around 3-4months cause of the 30day activation 😅

  • +7

I feel like if I wait long enough one of these BOOST cashbacks will pay off my mortgage.

  • This madness getting out of hand

  • +4

I’ll bite at $100 cashback. Come on cashrewards you can do it

    • +1

      Rookie mistake… go for the breakeven/profit 28d ones…

      • Been longing for these. The last one was on 18-Aug-2024 I think?

  • Needs to be better than this

    • $100 would do..

      • Yes, will buy 1 for everyone then

        • +1

          I’ll hold you to that

  • +9

Almost all of them increasing data but knowing most of us have access to wifi. I just want cheaper 365 long expiry plan.

    • +4

I'm on the 260gb. Expires next month only used 109gb in 11 months

  • 2 more days!!!

  • +1

Silly question, this cashback eligible for new customer basically just means you have to do the port out > port in process if you're an existing boost customer right?

    • +1

Yep. Looks like I have to do that for two plans in our household. Can't justify spending $300 a year with the new recharge rates (barely use any data), but hard to beat the coverage when you're out in the sticks. Got one plan expiring in 1.5 months, the other in 2.5 months. So will be losing out a bit…..

      • +1

I think mine expires in just over a month, same, $300 is nowhere near as attractive. I don't need all the data either. Bit of a process but sounds like it's worth to save a bunch of money.

  • This may be a silly question but I'm currently on JB HI FI mobile which uses Telstra. Will I have to port out to another carrier since Boost and JB HI FI both use Telstra? Or will I be okay? As I'd like to keep my mobile number.

    • +2
      1. Is porting in a Telstra number to Boost considered a "new customer"?
From Boost Mobile rep via dm: Porting a number from Telstra to Boost is definitely considered a new customer

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/751017

      • Thank you for letting me know, appreciate it!

  • Are there any ways to get cheaper than advertised recharges? This post prompted me to check and my 365 days is up this weekend!

    • Was wondering too, but don't think so.

    • Down ship creak mate

    • +1

      This is the cheap "recharge"

  • I might get this and keep the other one until next October to activate

    • +1

You can't get the cashback unless you activate within 30 days. Which sucks.

      • +2

That's right. The other sim I have can activate before Oct next year. My current sim is out first week of Nov. So I will activate this one via Cashback. Keep the other discounted boost sim starter pack for next year. The true Ozbargainer method

  • I'm currently paying $35 a month at Telstra which is going to $39 a month starting shortly which I know I'm getting destroyed… I am going to pull the trigger on one of these BOOST promos….. BUT WHEN!

    • +2

I'd go with before midnight AEST, when this deal ends. Cashrewards can't offer it once they stop selling it. The physical packs being sold elsewhere are >$180 each, and running out.

      • Thanks very much. Is this the current best deal on a mobile deal like this? Appreciate the assistance!

        • Depends what you're after. I need:
          - best coverage outside metro
          - 5G
          - receive SMS overseas

For me, this is the one :)

          • +1

@Make it so: Thanks for that. I just successfully pulled the trigger!

          • +1

@Make it so: Plus being able to use wifi overseas for calls home.

            • @driva: Yup. Had to contact my bank when me bank card went missing (own fault). Wifi calling saved me.

        • This is a solid option. People have been buying this since it was $60 Cashback and it’s kept increasing lol

      • Could you share where the physical ones are being sold (in NSW preferrably if you know)
I managed to get 1 sim, but need another one, and I've tried 16 times to check out using every feasibly hack to get it to go through, I give up
$180 is still cheap, the $35 is for my sanity

        • +1

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/871657

The $182 deal is sold out now…..

          • +1

@Make it so: I ended up trying a few more times on the Boost website - because I'm a masochist apparently - and managed to get the 2nd one, tried a card I hadnt used before and miraculously went through…
but thanks for responding with the site, appreciate it!

    SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG_
We’re sorry but we’re experiencing technical issues. Please try again later.

    Great. Just me?

    Tried Brave and Edge browser.

    • Try incognito or contact boost

      • Incognito may stop cashback. I did the opposite - made sure tracking wasn't being blocked by the browser.

        • I thought it was just ad blockers but could be an issue - check t&c I guess

          • +1

@WhyAmICommenting: Incognito is about hiding your identity. It does that by stopping things that track you or remember where you've been. Cashrewards works by letting a retailer know you came from them. If you disable tracking, you may not be able to get cashback. It's worked for me sometimes, but in this case I doubt it will make my situation better.

            • @Make it so: Incorrect! Incognito does not affect cashback tracking. I've had many instances where i've done cashback on incognito. you onyl need to make sure the Cashback app is also opened in incognito and you click through the link within that session
It just doesn't save certain information from your browsing session such as your history, Cookies, or other data.

    • Doesn't work in Cashrewards app either

      • Try debit card if it’s erroring on a credit card. That’s the only way I could get around the error

        • Yeah, had to use two separate visa debit cards in the end to order two packs.

    • +1

Checkout is broken. Works for less than 50% of people. I ended up buying a sim off ebay

      • Worked 50% of the time for me. Tried four times. Bought twice.

        No need to neg

        • +1

          I tried 20 times, didn’t work. I’ll neg

  • +2

Great another day I can't access this deal.

It would be funny if I can finally access the deal when it reaches $100

  • Rude :P grabbed it at $75 cash back the other day… always the way!

  • Done this via Cashback app tracked instantly whilist on Boost 5g network. The oxymoron is real

  • +1

Bought one. Thanks for sharing the deal.

  • Technical issue on payment page after entering all my personal info(name, dob, address, driver's licence details), it is just lame way of tricking people into this, no information, no support and just a text message "try again later" lol.

Any solution to this? I tried with chrome no extensions, no vpn, nothing custom/modified.

  • Doing my head in. Tried the app, different browsers. Last resort is a different card.
Anyone get a visa card to work?

    • Mastercard works not sure about others. Frankly the site might have gotten Ozbargained hence bombing out.

I made it just before. Good luck to you all

    • Same issue with a visa credit card for me. Based on other comments, it looks like boost doesn't like credit cards to be used for payment.

      • Nah I reckon it's overwhelming the system. Usually it's fine. If you got a mastercard can try maybe it's a visa card process issue only or simply their backend can't handle it.

No auto scaling in place lol

        • Overwhelming the system lol. It’s been broken for years. Sometimes it worked for some people who switched cards. Was just luck.

        • It worked with visa credit card this time. It is totally random, that is why boost is also asking to try again later lol.

          • @Ahoon: Same, tried several times with Mastercard and didn't work with different browsers.
Came back to check that it's not just a problem with my computer.
Tried again with Visa and it worked!

  • Yeh both mastercard or visa not working. Must be the site

  • Not working with Mastercard here either.

    • Yep same here

    • My debit MasterCard worked after failing with Visa and MC credit cards.

Mods should start marking boost deals as targetted or unobtainable. Just read the comments on this thread. No one can check out

    • +1

Not true. It's hit and miss but works fine after a few attempts

      • +1

ive tried 15 times and 1 time on the 6th try it worked…still trying to get another sim…cleared cookies, tried 3 different cards (visa and mastercard), changed browsers, used laptop and phone…
agree it's not "no one can check out", but its a crapshoot if you can successfully checkout, it's absolutely rubbish

      • +1

Worked fine for you after a few attempts. Not others. It’s literally broken. Crap company

  • show technical error when tried to purchase :(

  • +2

I purchased with visa debit card and it worked fine. thank you

    • Same, didn't seem to work with mastercard credit card

    • I’ve tried two Visa debit cards without success :(

  • It took me three cards before I could purchase. My two MasterCards didn't work but my visa did.

  • Yup. Visa debit works. Thanks to those who confirmed this.

Edit: failed second time around, go figure. Had to use another visa debit card.

  • To buy, or not to buy, that is the question

    • +2

Question is actually whether it goes through.

  • Is this worth getting and activating within 30 days (for successful cashback) if my current 12 Month Boost plan is expiring on 31st Jan? Meaning I will forfeit 2.5 months on my active plan..
I feel like it would still be worth it coming out to around $12 ish per month.. Although keen to hear if there would still be other good options around Jan though

    • Prepaid plans would only go up not down just like internet. I doubt there will be better offers. This is your last chance for cheap 5G prepaid 365 with international calls.

None other than Boost has this

  • +1

My MasterCard just worked at first attempt.

  • +7

Tried 4 times. PC, mobile, visa, mastercard. Didn't work.

Edit: At least another 4 more times. Different cards. Didn't work. A waste of time.

  • +1

So did not work for me a few times before 22.30, tried again just now at 23.04, was trying with Mastercard before then switched to a visa and it worked

tried to buy a 2nd sim 5 mins later and error again for both mastercard and visa

  • silly question.. current plan with woolies until end of Dec. Can I activate Boost SIM card now for Cashback then transfer my number in dec?

  • +1

Gave up after 15th try, this deal just wasn't meant to be for me. Bought for $183 from oztech instead

    • +1

      Having similar frustrations.
      What is oztech? Different carrier?

      • Different retailer selling the Boost SIM

  • Got one, thanks.
Coming back go Boost after one year with Coles Mobile.
I noticed big difference between them.

    • Coles mobile uses the lesser Vodafone network right? It's no good

      • Optus 4g Network.
Connection is slow and international call drops after 5min.
No signal in some remote areas.

        • Ha they used to be Vodafone and now change Optus MVNO just keeps changing heh

  • +3

I tried multiple browsers, cleared my cache, used private/incognito mode, used a differnt address, used a different email. Nothing worked.

    Deal is unattainable.
