A little while back we were getting SSDs cheap because the manufacturers had geared up to produce a lot more than the market turned out to want to buy. Except for the premium products which they could get a premium price for, they had to sell below cost of manufacture to clear the stock that had built up. The manufacturers re-adjusted, focusing more on the higher end high capacity products. And the prices went up.

But now the economic turndown has meant production is still too high, and we are seeing some good prices again. And we are seeing them on big capacity fast SSDs, not just the low end stuff like before.

This is not going to continue. You would be well advised that if you see a good price now, get it.

Just order 1 now, its gonna be delivered next month i assume, just don't open it until Black Friday and return it if you find better deal on BF.

  • Just after a little help please. Looking to upgrade the storage on my PS5 internally. Is this the one to get or the M482? Thanks

If you will only ever use the drive for PS5, save $60 and get the HP/Biwin here

The bundled heatsink is useful and offsets the shipping

  • I'm a bit clueless on these things, would this ssd deal and/or a WD Black 2TB SN850X with heatsink fit an Asus Prime B550M-K motherboard?

    Existing motherboard to fit:

    • Yes, either will work fine in that board assuming the m2 slot is not in use already.

  • Where are all the sata SSD deals at?

    • In the past, with SATA… 😂

Do you have a specific use case that requires SATA? There are adaptors you can buy, I haven't used one so I can't give a recommendation. You'd be leaving a lot of potential performance on the table with a drive like this in one tho. Better off with a cheaper m.2 if you went that route.

      • I doubt the performance boost is that big for gaming to be noticeable especially with a reputable sata ssd. But yeah I only have one NVME/m2 slot and don't want to purchase a 4tb nvme to upgrade.

    • I think I need to go back to sata.

Have three NVME drives (and an external) already in my system and am out of slots and PCI-e lanes.

NVME kind of sucks with multiple drives.
