1102

TopCashback has increased the cashback to its highest ever at $80 for the 170GB 12 month plan for $230. Costs $150 after cashback.

Activate within 30 days of purchase to get cashback

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase, and must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable. If the SIM is deactivated prior, Boost may decline cashback.
  • Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. If there is more than one SIM in an order, it will result in an untracked purchase and the purchase will be ineligible for cashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on eSIMs, recharges, phones, bundles, accessories.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchase of gift cards and/or use of gift cards for payment.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.
  • Always return to TopCashback and click through via the pink cashback button to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.

Good to know

  • Ensure you disable plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole & VPNs prior to clicking/tapping from TopCashback as they will prevent your order from tracking.
  • If you cancel / return / exchange / modify your completed order, it will no longer be eligible for cashback and will be declined in your account.

What to do and when

  • Missing cashback claims must be lodged within 100 days of purchase.

From Boost:

Includes 170GB on activation by 10 March 2025. From 11 March includes 160GB on activation. For new customers only.

Last chance, SIM unavailable from 21 October 24.

Finally reached the apex of $80

    • +6

Only if you place the order - I have tried abt 5 times via the website - Boost is having some technical issue and ends up with ' Something went wrong' on the confirmation page

    • +6

      HODL for $88 cashback xD

      • +2

        Your username has 98 :)

        Edit: I didn't neg you

        • +1

Oh yeah that works too :P

Was just thinking of the last upsize being $77 lol

      • +1

Boost it to $98 cashback please :P

      • I didn't neg you either.

    • I been saying this for couple weeks, yet most were happy with $60-70 cashback ;)

    • Calling the top?

  • Anyone knows when the expiry of the sim is?

Yes I understand to get the cashback you must activate within 30 days.

    • +1

Don't know but Boost mentions to activate by 10 March 2025 to get 170GB. I assume the SIM expiry would be after 10/03/2025.
New stock expiry mentioned here 11/04/2026

      • +2

Thanks. I'm also checking with a Boost rep just to be safe.

        • I'm keen to know too!

          • @JackieCh: Just heard back from the rep:

Hi, we received further details from our support team. While the deal is available to purchase until the 21st of October, you would have up to March 10 2025 to activate the SIM to access the 170GB bonus data. We are limited in being able to retrieve the exact expiry date of the SIM itself, but it's generally up to a year or two. The date would be stated on the back of the packaging. - Austin

        • Can you please update us on what you hear from the rep?

          • @Miscreant: See above :)

            • @fortunecookie: What are the new deals next year if everyone is rushing to get one of these?

Worse than the current Sim without cashback it sounds ??

              • @G-rig: We'll see what new deals they'd come up with.

To me this sim kit is good value given I don't use much data. Paying $12.50/month for unlimited sms and calls is good enough for me.

                • @fortunecookie: Yeah it's great. I got WiFi home and Work and don't use/need much data either. The 140-170GB usually heaps.

Thought I saw somewhere what the deals may be but can't remember. No doubt more expensive cheapest plan (and more data perhaps). Hopefully they'll have some form of 365 day Sim.

  • This or keep my $170 woolies mobile plan (10% off at woolies every month)

    • +1

If your plan will end soon, better and cheaper with this Boost Mobile for $150 a year total cost after cashback.

      • Thanks.
Mine literally ends tomorrow, but woolies no longer offers the $170 plan for new customers so need to balance the pros and cons before bailing out.

        • +2

Woolworths mobile is only 4G compared with Boost Mobile 5G already and cheaper too at $150 cost with this promo.

          • @neoleo: Are you sure about that? Woolworths Mobile uses the Telstra Wholesale Mobile Network.

Edit: Probably some of the grandfathered plans remain on 4G.

            • +1

              @Charlie Dont Surf: https://mobile.everyday.com.au/plans/long-expiry-plans?icmpi…

The cheapest plans of $130 (180 days) and $250 (365 days) are only 4G, except the most expensive plan $320.

              • @neoleo: Yikes they have become so expensive. I am still on the $75 per six months grandfathered plan.

                • @Charlie Dont Surf: Good for you if you can keep the plan. Boost Mobile is the son of Telstra, so better nationwide network coverage if compared with other Telstra MVNOs, I think.

                • @Charlie Dont Surf: Yes, I agree. I just want a small amount of data with unlimited talks and texts on the Telstra network for a reasonable price. I'm on Boost but with the latest jump in price I'm looking for a cheaper 365 day plan.

        • +1

Just keep in mind boost are phasing out this plan $230 and will only have $300 or $350 recharge next year when you recharge again. Might be cheaper to hold onto woolies plan in the long run?

  • Does anyone know if we are able to swap to esim after activating the physical sim?

    • Yes.

    • Yes easy do it via boost app.

    • How long we need to wait to swap and be still eligible for cashback? Can I do very next day after activating?

    • Are you saying you can do this and still qualify for the cashback?

      • You could convert it to esim immediately after being tracked. As long as the physical sim card is activated.

        • Oh I’m wanting to see if there’s a way to bank the sim and still get the cashback.

  • Does boost offer roaming yet?

  • -8

A usual, unobtainable/targetted. Next to no one can check out. Been like this for years. Not a bargain

    • Hi @BarryBargain88 I purchased a Boost SIM from one of these cashback offers a few months ago and checked out with no issues at all. Cashback is even approved. Have you seen this other current Boost offer?

      • +2

I count 6 people in this comment thread alone having issues or using fake details to try check out. So I stand by my comment. You were just lucky

        • yes it seems like some people are unable to check out for whatever reason.

    • +1

After 20-30 failed attempts, this time it went through. Looks like random orders are going through. Try your luck.
I purchased via TCB app which didn't work previously multiple times.

      • Were you using the app on WiFi or mobile (3g/4g/5g)?

        • Was using WiFi. It failed previously on WiFi and mobile data. I think it was a random success like lottery 😂.

    • +2

Just purchased, a single attempt and cashback tracked.

Did you use an email address that already has a Boost / JB / Telstra ID associated with it? Had trouble with that getting a JB sim previously. This time I used a new email alias.

      • Have changed email, address, name, cc. Used wife’s details. Nothing works

      • +1

Bought using email associated with Boost.

      • Does the email used in the Boost purchase need to match the e-mail address associated with the Topcashback account to get the cashback?

  • +2

Any idea how long this top cash promo will run?

  • Any idea how long does it takes to track the Cashback ? Also anybody having trouble logging into their account , I signed out of my TopCashback account and now it’s not letting me in and when trying to reset the password not getting any links to reset it, don’t know what to do ?

    • Should already got tracking email confirmation and check it after login. I only login through Chrome mobile browser and never log out after finishing the transaction, just close the browser tab instead. Save the password in the browser as it is much faster for login rather than typing manually.

  • +2

    Always getting the

    SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG

We’re sorry but we’re experiencing technical issues. Please try again later.

Tried different emails, do they block you based on ID?

    • My MasterCard credit card got that message, visa debit card worked

    • Just give up, checkout is broken

  • +1

Thanks for posting like usual @trixieb, wondering if it'll increase even more as that seems to be the trend for this SIM card.

    • It's a possibility if Boost has stock left as it's unavailable from 21 Oct 24.

  • +1

My order just went straight through the first time.

  • -2

I know I’m obsessed but 63% of ozbargainers cannot checkout. That’s clearly a targetted offer

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/814238

    • @BarryBargain88 That poll is almost a year ago in Nov 2023 and has expired. Some voters that voted no in the poll may have been able to buy the Boost SIM card since then as per some of the comments in the poll and cashback posts in the last few months. It doesn't appear to be a permanent ban from Boost and some customers have been able to buy after a few months break from Boost.

May I ask if you are only having issues with purchasing the Boost SIM via TopCashback? There is another similar offer from Cashrewards. Did you try with Cashrewards?: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/871090

      • +2

Have tried all Cashback sites. Check Facebook comments on boost deals and instagram comments. This is not a me problem. There’s 10 people on every boost deal saying the same thing. Checkout is broken

        • +2

Last month I bought Boost Mobile monthly plan successfully. I don't need this yearly plan as I still have yearly plan from Vodafone. In my experience, Vodafone is better for me around Sydney City, in the workplace, and on the beach for example. Boost signal is not good inside Woolworths Metro Central Park Sydney for example, but Optus and Vodafone no problem and full signal with fast speed too.

        • +1

The truth, I've tried 4 times now with different cards. It's like a lottery to be chosen to buy

  • +2

Got it in one transaction. iOS x Safari. Checked out on Boost website on first go using the same email I had my my previous Boost service with.
Thanks OP for advocating the deal. Planning to claim the service on tax for work purposes, so it’ll be nice to be able to claim $230 instead of $150.

  • +2

After several failed attempt with credit card, a visa debit card worked. Order placed! thanks OP.

    • +1

Same. After many failed attempts with a Master card and a Visa card, I finally tried a Visa debit card and it worked.

  • Still not working for despite trying multiple browsers and couldn't complete a purchase. Still an unattainable deal.

  • +1

Just tried again and still the same for me too.. Check out with the same error. Spoke to a boost rep, was advised its a tech issue on their end and they have escalated..

    • +1
    • +2

Yea same with me, been trying for last few months. Multiple browsers, computers, internet connections and details.

  • Just did it and this time used normal debit card vs credit card and it finally went thru! Maybe lottery maybe the change of card did it, thanks to sam9879 for sharing :)

  • Hey all, so says new customer only, should I use a different one from my current account? Port out my number then port in again and it should track/transition ok?thank you

  • First attempt this morning, initiated from TCB mobile app and went to boost mobile site (not app).

Checked out and tracked no issue with Visa card, no issue.

  • +1

Tried everything - Still stuck with 'Something went wrong' error on the final confirmation page

  • +1

Just tried to order, got error message when using mastercard, then tried visa, same thing…

    • Went on the online chat to ask them about it, they said they have raised the issue with tech support and to try again in 24 hours. Gave me a ticket number when I asked for it.

      • Tried again today, well after 24 hours. Still same error.

        • Me too, I've passed 10 attempts on different browsers and credit cards. Online chat support suggested I buy a $2 sim kit online instead which doesn't make sense.

  • So I am already with Boost and instead of recharging, should I buy this, and then port my same number across? Any thoughts on whether this will work?

    • It doesn't recharge but after porting out it could be used immediately

  • -1

Can I provide my international passport or licence for delivery? It says only australian passport or licence. Or can I provide my friend's licence and get it delivered at my address? Do they check the id physically while delivery or do they just verify it online?

  • -2

Another comment thread littered with people struggling to checkout. What a great deal! How does this trash stay up

  • Was better when these were on sale a few years ago for $150-170, without relying on cashback. Don't need to activate for a while.

  • -3

Why would someone pick this deal over the Kogan Mobile 365 deal at 200GB for $139? Or 300GB for $169. So much more worth it

    • Someone might want the Telstra 5G network. For eleven dollars extra, I would.

    • vodapoo

  • +1

Order worked first time for me (used Google Chrome on Mac + Mastercard)

  • +3

Great deal. For all those having problems checking out you may need to try another address..only thing that worked for me!

    • +1

This worked for me too! Had tried over 20 times before reading this suggestion and it finally worked.

    • but i only have 1 home address for delivery. how do you try another address?

  • As an existing boost customer I can port using Telstra $2 (https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/prepaid-mobiles/fre…) and then instantly port back to new boost sim correct?

    • That worked for me last year. I had to get support from Boost online chat to help me port back as it got stuck somewhere along the process. They sorted it out pretty quickly after verifying my identity.

    • Would be more than $2, isn't there a minimum recharge cost as well (usually $10-12)?

      • You don't have to recharge. Just port your number over and ensure you can receive a call. Once you've confirmed that the number has been ported, port back to Boost.

        • You'd better check that. A lot of sim cards don't let you activate them without adding some kind of $/GB/charge when setting up.

Anyway not even necessary when you get on the boost chat/call and get them to do it.

          • @G-rig: I did that last year. I ported to a $2 Telstra sim without recharging and then ported straight back to Boost. Whether or not we can still do that this year, I don't know.

Yes, it would be better if you can get Boost support to do it without having to port out first, but not all Boost support personnel are willing to do that.

            • @fring: Oh right maybe amaysim and Vodafone different, can't activate without charging with something.

Yes can't take a few goes on the chat, hit and miss.

      • it says in the description:

Recharge with your chosen recharge amount in future

So I'm guessing doesn't need more than $2?
