Not as good as getting paid to buy a SIM card but Telstra isn't trying to bump up its subscriber numbers to get bought by Telstra (cough Boost cough). I know this is kind of run of the mill and not very exciting. Why am I posting it? I don't know. I'm tired.

Interesting, actually makes $17 for Telstra sound quite good vs $12 for Voda. Personally I'd happily pay the extra but I'm sure many would prefer the $5 in their pocket. Also did you see the $17 at the supermarket?
Indeed value always depends on the individual. Telstra offers no benefit that I would pay an additional 42% for.
Coles and Woolworths have discounted SIMs essentially every week. The Woolworths catalogue has three 'Better than 1/2 price' specials on Lebara starter packs (10GB, 80GB and 200GB), one 'Better than 1/2 price' special on Telstra (40GB), and one 'Better than 1/2 price' special on Vodafone (105GB for $17).
However, the Vodafone 105GB is cheaper ($15) via vodafone.com.au plus there is a $5 CashRewards cashback to bring the net cost down to $10.
dumb question but when it says '80GB on first three recharges (25GB + 55GB activation bonus)' does that mean you get 25GB when activated and then 80GB only when you recharge (@$49) or do you get 80GB when you activate?
Not a dumb question, the mobile industry's defnition of "recharge" is counter-intuitive. Activation is considered to be the first recharge.
You can deduce this from the T&Cs.
80GB on first three recharges … Activate by 7 July 2025, remaining recharges by 5 September 2025.
So does that mean that activation counts as a recharge?
As per my post, activation is considered to be the first recharge.
thanks.
anyone know if this is available in-store?
Is be keen to know too and if it is in the supermarkets.
Went to woolies to check, no go. Telstra pricing is independent from other stores
maybe better price beat at OW
I had a look at ColesWorth SIM options tonight and the most interesting one was Lebara 80GB starter pack for $12 (was $29.90) from WW.
Lebara uses the Vodafone network.
