  • Thanks, OP! I was scouting this morning for a good air fryer, and this one seems too good to pass up.

  • +10

I have this one and it is excellent!

    • +1

      agree
      Almost going 2 years now

    • +1

I also have this and it is excellent (almost 3 years).

    • Only 11 months for me! I love it… Gives me a reason to use my Scrub Daddy on that tray.

    • Agreed. Only thing is the rubber feet on the removable tray cracked and fell off after a year of use. Found replacement on Aliexpress so no worries

  • I can vouch for this being a top tier air fryer. Had one for months and use it daily

  • +1

Thank you. Was gonna buy some parchment liner aswell to make clean up easy. Any idea if this will fit? https://amzn.asia/d/8UaH8hk

    • +1

Just measured mine, the metal tray is approx. 233mm x 238mm not counting the rubber feet, the 'drawer' itself is 243mm x 248mm internally.

  • Cheap and good! Bought this last prime day and it is still going strong!

The only downside (with all air fryers) is it can make amazingly easy crispy frozen chips which is bad for my waistline!

  • +10

It only has a maximum of 1700watts including fan, leads to longer preheat especially in winter, the cooking is not even, must turn food over, it frequently will not heat food to safe temperatures when a food is cooked following temperature and time directions. Last item crumbed chicken fillets which need to be cooked to internal temperature of 75C but at end of cooking (following directions) only 62c.

I still like it for the price, but next time will get one of the Phillips models that are 2200+ watts and does much more even cooking, but they are expensive.

    • +5

I had this for just over a year and from the day I got it I wished I'd bought another Philips. Eventually when the nonstick started peeling and the flimsy drip tray rubbers wereno longer doing their job I returned to a Philips.

      • +3

Same, wish I had bought the Phillips

    • +8

Thanks for feedback - I decided to go with this one instead
      https://www.amazon.com.au/Philips-Essential-Technology-HD927…
      2000 watts and slightly larger

      • The only issue I have found with the Philips ones are the groove in the tray make it really hard to clean vs flat one.

  • Can this be used a 'small oven' as well? Like comparing it with Air fryer oven combo coming in the market

    • Use it for pies and comes out great.

      • Will it be useful for all the functions as oven? I am thinking to get only one thing -> Currently seeing Air fryer oven combos.

        • If it fits inside, then its as good (arguably better) than an oven.

        • +2

Well is it a substitute for an oven probably not but if you're not too fussed it can be used as such.

In your case I think something like the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer BOV860BST might be the way to go ($380 atm at Amazon AU).

          • +1

            @dins: Got it. Thanks

            • @Ankit4632: Also note that a couple of $10 discount codes appear on it as well not sure if they're targeted though.

        • Does it have a door seal

Is it large enough to cook a large "whatever" (turkey/roast/etc)?

Many are not sealed & are NOT large enough to have a true middle rack. So, things don't cook evenly/the same temps/time. You have to figure it out.

          • @Geekomatic: We have the non-air fryer version and yeah seals the heat in just fine for mine. As for the size yeah that might be an issue for some so do check the dimensions.

    • Last kitchen reno I had done, I didn't bother with an oven install. Had an easy cook, now air fryer does 95% oven jobs. Have a weber bbq which can do the enormous once or twice a year roasts or anything I didn't want air blasted.

      • Does this Instant Pot Vortex Plus 5.7L Air Fryer will work for oven as well?

  • We need a new basket plate for this and its around $30.

30% of the price for a new one.. Ours is 2 years old.

    • +1

      Buy some silicone liners

    • Sounds reasonable.

  • +2

This is the best Airfryer I have used. Got it during last prime day sale for $115 in July and going strong.

    • What other models have you used?

  • I agree. Happy with this one. More spacious than the one we had before.

  • Highly recommend this one well worth it compared to ones with bulky and fiddly double basket types. A steal at this price if you're after a solid user friendly air fryer. If only for 2 people would recommend their mini version as well.

    • That's strange, this thing I feel is just barely big enough for two adult sized portions

      • Well not sure what you're chucking in there but this fits say even 2-3kg of chicken pieces just fine?

        • Well, for example, you could fit in maybe 4 chicken thighs in here - any more and it gets too crowded and they don't cook properly.

4 pieces are about 1 kg, maybe a bit less.

Not sure which items are done perfectly in air fryers but I tried doing fryums, papadums, and frozen samosas and all had very disappointing outcome even compared to oven or microwave in some cases, let alone actual oil frying or roasting on stove. I tried different combinations of temperatures and timings too but still no good. Finally I had to return it. Be very sure what you want to use an air fryer for before you buy it and may be do some research watching YouTube videos etc. It DOESN'T replace oil frying or roasting or using oven in MOST cases as I thought it would.

Obviously I am not referring to only this model but air fryers in general, nor I am saying air fryers don't work for anything. It's just not useful for me as I wanted to replace oil frying (and some roasting/ovening) with air frying.

    • Haven’t tried fryums or papadums yet but frozen samosas / spring rolls turn out fantastic. Prefer them over the fried ones and they’re nice and crisp.. usually give it around 14 minutes in this at 190

    • It might not be "better", but its definitely faster and easier, which are what a lot of people are after.

    • Remove the word "Air fry" and replace it with "small oven" and that's what these things are.

They don't fry, they don't do magic, they just circulate hot air in a small box.

I use mine every day for things like roasting chicken thighs, making steaks (it's not as good as a pan, but it sure is easier and cleaner), baking vegetables, reheating things, and… that's about it.

I can make a full meal in one hit by heating the meat, and then adding in brocollini and things like that for the last 4 minutes.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it's IMPOSSIBLE to clean under the element, so eventually I'll have to throw it out or it'll start a fire.

  • Have one of these already, quite happy with it and ordered another using the $20 app coupon so ended up costing $86.

The only issue I have with the current one is capacity, so will just run two and have more than enough space :)

  • I love this one, but wish it was slightly bigger (surface area).

Any recommendations from others in the same position?

The dual one has smaller individual trays which looks annoying. And then there is the mega Ninja af500 where you can remove the separator (great idea), but not sure if that's too big. And sounds like people complain that the dual ones cook slower etc.

  • Only bought this as it seems to be best from some review sites, regrets after seeing my mates Phillips one, this one the tray falls out if you turn it upside down, phillips has a locking system, 100000 times smarter!

    • +2

We don't use the tray bit it works fine without it. Also a lot easier to use/clean.

  • Thanks OP, bought one.

  • Tempted to grab one of these.

Currently have a 5.3L Kmart Air Fryer which is 5 years old and been completely fine.

Would this be worth the upgrade?
