100hz means it should be good for gaming up to 100fps, right?

    • -1

yes, which is on the lower end these days. Especially for FPS

      • +1

Plenty enough for my poor man's 4060

        • +1

Is it though? 144hz on the old 1080 was fine, surely a 4060 is still capable.

          • @japes: Without owning one - the 40 series cards all benefit from great DLSS upscaling in most games. 144hz on a 4060 is definitely doable in most games at 1440p, just not at native resolution. Source: my 3070 still does good

      • curious mate because I don't play fps games. how much of an edge would you say a 240hz (or whatever they are up to these days) monitor has over a 90 or 120hz?

back in my day we would just disable v-sync /smirk - tearing you say? can't notice it with these eyes

This looks like a good alternative for a gaming monitor if you dont mind slower response rates and VA and a curve.

  • Sure even now monitors prices came down a lot too! Under $200 a lot of 27" choice now.

  • +1

    no USB-C?

Go the MSI - slightly higher brightness and refresh rate will make it more pleasant to use overall, def worth the extra $10 imo.

Maybe I'll go for the MSI 27" MSY is selling. Sure its only FHD. But its only $139 new. Or $215 refurbished. They must do a really good job of refurbishing them.

  • I will get 144hz for gaming, but 100hz still so much better than 60hz.

  • Got a couple of these for $208. Great monitors

  • I will go for a 144hz QHD monitor because my GPU can handle it under v-sync

  • I bought this 27" 2K monitor a few weeks ago from Amazon, for $212. It's a good monitor for the price, comes in useful for WHM. I haven't really found any faults with it so far.

  • this is back on stock on some retailers which one better this MSI or that DELL ?
