10off

Hi Ozbargainers,

I have had so many emails and messages asking for Dymista, the problem has been the high cost of the item relative to other allergy relief nasal medications available on market. Until recently its recently been 3x the price of the leading pharmacy seller (Mometasone). Anyway fast forward to a week or so ago and the wholesale price of this medicine has come down significantly.

I've assembled a trio of nasal sprays so Ozbargainers can see which solution may best suit their Allergy Relief Needs. Before anyone asks, those looking for Dymista on its own: https://pharmacysavings.com.au/products/dymista-allergy-nasa… currently $34.99 inc delivery Oz wide.

Anyway, tonight deal:

Item: Allergy Relief Nasal Spray Trio: Dymista + Mometasone + Nasal Decongestant

Given a significant portion of the item cost is shipping, I have included a few optional items which can be
added to the bundle, just select from the drop down box in the listing.

I'm going to shout out to last Thursdays deal, which actually ranked and sold pretty poorly, despite being what I think was a ripper of a deal, I am guessing maybe site traffic may have been down when I posted, or many other good deals stole the limelight.

Item: 30x Lorastyne (Loratadine 10mg) Exp: End December 2024 + 48x Ibuprofen 200mg, Exp: End

  • If you use Dymista and don't have alergies, but other sinus problems, get Flixonase instead. Cheaper but doesn't have the antihistamine.

    • Why is everything apart from Avamys OTC? I hate going to the GP every 2 months wasting 2 hours.

      • The manufacturing will usually start putting in applications happen towards the end of the patent on the medicine. Futisconse furoate is quite unique the best steroid for respiratory/upper airways but newer so could be some time! Fingers crossed though!

      • Different active ingredient.

        • Understand that. But it isnt something that someone is gonna go 'breaking bad' with. It is the safest too, can be used long term.

  • +2

That's probably because Dymista works wonders.

Absolute game changer! I grabbed it when everyone raved about it on the other posts recently. I haven't needed Fexofenadine at all (I only take Dymista OD now as well).

      • Its certainly good for allergic type symptoms and rhinitis. It may not be useful if your primary treatable symptoms are congestion and/or nasal polyps vs other ICSs.

    • +1

Dymista is great. Got the prescription version a year back for cluster headache symptoms and it was awesome for hay fever and sinus infection.

  • does this work for weekend nose.. lol

    • +2

Could you elaborate more? Wouldn't your nose be decongested already?

  • +1

Does dymista also get rid of itchy eyes?

    • It may, but you’re best off with a systemic antihistamine or Azelastine eye drop :)

    • I have been using Dymista for over 1.5 years after a doctor prescribed it for me. Used to use Mometasone spray previously and need that once a day. Tried Mometasone again a few months ago and it really didn't help too much compared to Dymista.

Right now, if I don't use Dymista for a few days my nose gets quite leaky, I feel very congested and I sneeze a lot throughout the day. Eyes also get itchy. Only way to fix it is telfast once a day… or Dymista spray once a day. Initially for the first 2-3 days I need 2x sprays twice a day… then I go to once a day after I shower in the morning (one spray each nostril).. after using for 2-3 weeks I can go to once every second day in the morning. Definitely helps with itchy eyes for me.

Wish I didn't have to use it though… used to be fine without anything until a few years ago.

      • Thank you. I currently take Telfast once a day. Mostly happy with it apart from sneezes now and then. Might try dymista if eventually need every second day.

  • Been taking Flixonase for non-allergic/vasomotor rhinitis and when that stopped working I went to Ryaltris and that is a life saver, although one of the side effects is being sleepy and I definitely feel it! My only symptom is congestion.

Does anyone know if Dymista would help, considering Ryaltris is mad expensive?

    • Definitely helps me with congestion.. see my comment above for my experience with Dymista.

      • Thanks will give it a try

    • Hi! Unrelated to deal, but can I ask how you went about getting diagnosed or getting help with your symptoms?

I constantly have a stuffy nose and have been using Dymista 2x/day plus trialling various antihistamines for months with no improvement in symptoms (the Dymista used to work last year, but stopped). I've seen an allergy specialist and done all the tests and only have a very mild allergy. It affects my sleep and I constantly wake up with a blocked nose - it's driving me nuts. I do saline rinses which don't help much. My nose is always dry and crusty during the day, and bleeds when I blow it too hard.

Who should I be seeing? My GP just recommends Dymista and trying more antihistamines. Should I see an ENT or something? Have you just been doing trial and error to treat yourself?

Any info you can share would be amazing please!

      • You could try Prednisone tablets but it’s not recommended you take them everyday unless you have a severe auto-immune disease where inflammation is ruining your quality of life.

      • Hi
I ended up visiting ENT at the END. I had alot of trial and error and visits to my GP. I've also done the allergy test (I'm not allergic to anything according to the test).

And I understand, I used to work shift work and blocked nose made sleep even worse than it already was. I do suggest checking off and making sure it's not what you eat/diet, then try different types of spray (I listed mine down; the ingredients anyway) and some of these sprays take a few weeks to start working so please give it some time. That's how I found Flixonase worked for me (but no longer does). GP prescribed me Ryaltris which is a God send but still ended up with ENT to get a confirmed diagnosis. ENT gave me scripts for Ryaltris.

I would suggest trying sprays/alternatives per your GP than ENT because it cost alot more $$$, but if it's causing drastic negative impacts on your health I would see ENT sooner than later, considering you already had an allergy test. But that allergy test should tell you what you should focus on? Anyway if you can't sleep use Oxymetazoline spray but as per label don't use more than 3-5 consecutive days due to possible damage and rebound congestion.

        • Try Avamys. It’s a newer generation steroid :)

  • +1

Buying individually may work in your favour if your after one of these in particular esp if you want it picked up sooner:

Dymista: $29.99 at amcal or $29.49 after price beat at cw

Mometasone: $12.99 at cw normal price

Nasal Decongestant: $12.99 at cw normal price

    • The Sudafed type nasal sprays are fantastic for quick relief. In a couple of minutes the sinuses have completed opened up!

  • is there a database with updated flixonase prices??

    • Who nose?

  • Thanks for the great deals as always!

Also wondering if any chance of adding additional products in future - particularly nicotine patches and eye drops:
    * Hylo-Forte 2mg Lubricating Eye Drops 10mL
    https://www.davidjonespharmacy.com.au/hylo-forte-2mg-lubrica…
    * Nicotinell Step 2 Patch 14mg 24 Hours 28 Day Supply
    https://www.davidjonespharmacy.com.au/nicotinell-step-2-patc…

    Thanks!

  • I was recommended to dymista by Priceline for my "itchy" throat that leads to annoying dry coughs.

Does anyone know if it actually helps?

  • Is the nose stuff worth it? You can get a double pack of Dymetapp reasonably cheap and that stuff is amazing

    • Dimetapp is recommended for 3 consecutive days or else you get a bad rebound sinus blockage and pain. It’s not designed to be a preventative.
How often is your nose blocked?

  • i've been using Dymsta for years, i was kind of annoyed that it was prescription only because it was so good for sinus infections(and hayfever) or when you know you're about to get an infection.

Anyways fast forward a few years, i find out the reasons because it wasn't approved yet for over the counter and required additional testing or something..

Albeit pricey it works wonders, only downside is you have to be careful about how often you use it.

I found it dries out the nasal passages and longer term (like a month) use can cause sensitivity and possible nose bleeds as a side effect.

Knowing it is going down in price is a good to know, i hope they do make this product more accessible because i find it much better than some of the other stuff out there.

    • That’s right. Nasonex was also prescription once but after a few years it was released for OTC sale.
